The powers to be in the government of North Dakota had no balls to stop the peoples vote of the sioux name. Whether or not UND will be called the Sioux will be decided on the June ballot. The government could have put an end to this the other day but choice to ignore the fact that if the name is voted in then UND athletics will be virtually eliminated. The Big Sky will kick us out and with no conference and no team willing to play us because of the name we will be in a world of hurt. Back to D2 or NAIA. It really sucks.

I'd now say the chances of bringing in some talented recruits for next year just took a huge hit with todays vote from the powers to be and probably an even bigger hit once the vote hits in June. What a shame. I would not be surprised to see a few players possibly transfer.
-
Privacy laws and exactly what does that do and why would they do that? This is an open forum to debate various issues.
-
That is strange, Kentucky 16 and Minnesota 10. Doesn't make any sense.
-
I have heard about these issues also and know several to be true. There are issues that need to be fixed, but I also believe they can be. Now based on other topics it looks like we may have a couple of scholarships to offer, so lets go out and get some solid 4/5 players.
-
That was my guess also. Probably a good move by him cause I honesly did not see him playing that much even this coming year. He had alot of work to do in order to crack any playing time. I sure hope they dont use these 2 scholarships and bring in more guards, please dont. We need 4's and 5's. If these coaches bring in more guards I will lose all hope in them.
-
Can you give further details on who these players are?

This discussion has come up many times over the past year on scholarships being cut. I do agree this is a difficult decision and must be made. I do not agree on cutting Goodman loose. Of the 5 soon to be seniors if Goodman is healthy he is the best of this group. Goodman from what I understand has alot or rehab work to do but I like his game. I would definately give Goodman the opportunity and hope he becomes healthy. I believe this would be a good risk for the coaches. On the other hand I do agree with Archer, Haugen and I would also add Wilmer to the list. I'm sure all 3 will not be cut cause I dont think we will find 3 players in a short period of time but something needs to be done to bring in 4 and 5 position players.

Lets see McDermott is a sophomore correct? So who would he had been playing behind? If that statement is true that is rediculous. With the current sophomore class and with McDermott we would have been a definate top contender in the Big Sky the next 2 years.

Probably our best road effort this year. After the initial 5 minutes we played very solid until the last 5-6 minutes. I think Jones played his starters more than usual and they got tired. Showed by giving up 46 points in the 2nd half. We had 4 starters play 30 or more minutes and I've never seen this in our box scores before. If Mitchell had not got into foul trouble it may have been all 5 with 30+ minutes. I really think them being tired showed down the stretch. Goodbye and thanks to Mitchell and Matheson. They were a joy to watch and will be missed. On to the Big Sky.

mine is not working also.

Close game. Weber won by 3.

This is not good. This team has to be so road weary and tired of sleeping in motel rooms. Just laying around all day and especially since Sunday with nothing to do except short shoot arounds and film study. The cards are stacked but we need a good solid road win and tonight could be the start.

Celebrate THE BEST MEN'S COLLEGE BB TEAM IN NORTH DAKOTA
sioux2013 replied to CMSioux's topic in Men's Basketball
MVP- Based on numbers and consistancy I would have to give the nod to Anderson. He shot great percentages from all areas and has a good assist to turnover ratio. Biggest surprise of the year. Beating Montana, SDSU and NDSU. Looking at the schedule did not see beating all three. How would I describe this team. GREAT at home and HORRIBLE on the road. The road woes need to improve in a hurry. Alot of talent on this team but it needs better chemistry and descipline. In order to compete in the Big Sky next year we need to sharpen up our team play in all areas. I still dont see much inside out game at all. The most alarming stat is Wilmer has 31 turnovers and 0 assists. Brekke and other inside guys are not much better. That is plan horrible. Also, we need a healthy Goodman. He can be very valuable to this team in so many ways and we need him. Also, need some size as everyone is aware. -
Our final RPI is 242, which is considerably higher than last year. As of yet we do not have as many wins as last year but with the stronger schedule I'd say we did improve alittle. We had big wins over SDSU(rpi 43) and Montana (rpi 74) but had horrible road losses to Bradley, UMKC, Texas Pan Am and Houston Baptist. All of these teams have RPI's in the 300+ range. Hopefully we get a few more wins but if not, based on numbers we have had a better year than last year. We will however need to make an even bigger improvement for next year to advance to post season play. Go Sioux

Very surprised also that Weber is not in the NIT, actually thought they may have a shot at the big dance. Also, surprised Utah Valley is in the CIT. Thats 2 out of 6 teams from the Great West in the CIT. Would be nice to play Weber in this CIT to once again see what we need to do for the next 2 years to be competitive in the Big Sky.

I thought tonight was Huffs best game of the year. He was under control the entire game with 8 rebounds, 4 assists and only 1 turnover. He still got his 15 points with only 9 shots. That is what we need from him every game for us to grow as a TEAM and get better. Great job from all the men and lets get a few more wins in the CIT.
-
You nailed that one. Schuler with 11 and Antwi with 6. The boost we needed.
-
Not surprising when he hardly touches the ball and they never seem to run a play for him. I think he is the best shooter off a screen but nothing is run. Dont think they are using him enough or even involving him in the offense. What a shame. Nice comeback and great win by the way.
-
CIT automatic bid like last year.
-
Here we go again. If I remember correctly last year the biggest margin of victory in the entire tournament was 3 points. One game down and a victory by NJIT by 1 point. This is anybody's tournament again. Go Sioux
-
If montana wins do you think weber gets an at large bid with their record?
-
SDSU just won the summit tournament. They are dancing. Montana won the big sky regular season. That 2 huge wins we had this year. It proves we can play with teams that are dancing. Add some down low help and we have potential to dance ourselves. Go sioux
-
If they want to compete and possibly make it to the dance in the next 2 years with this sophomore class then they must pull scholarships. I believe they have the talent with the 5 sophomores but they need help to compete in the Big Sky, especially on the road. Mitchell needs replaced with an immediate impact player, probably a JUCO.

From what I heard Goodman's rehab is around 9 months possibly. Thats till December. Don't know about medical redshirts since he only played 3 games this year. Haugen does not play nor travel with the team this year. Unfortunately Haugen would be my guess to have his scholly pulled first. Next I would maybe guess Archer and then a toss up between Goodman and Wilmer. I have said before it will be a difficult decision for the coaches cause all of these players are great young men.
