  1. I believe you may be right. They just probably wanted to try and show Brewster up for their unhappiness. The question I have, do they have to pay back scholarship money for the remainder of the semester? They received x amount of dollars towards food/lodging for the entire semester and of course schooling/books were paid for.
  2. Once again we will not have our full team. Bad news is Schuler is still out but good news is that Brekke will be playing. Schuler's issue has got to be more than just muscle spasms, its too bad we really need him.
  3. I agree with that. If they can both play this week for 15-20 minutes that would be huge and then they would have another full week to get into shape for the final home game. By that time I would then say go with Brekke, Schuler, Huff, Anderson and Webb for the conference tournament games as starters. This is the time of the year that these players and this team have done their best work and its a very good possiblity with them all back that they can do it again. I believe. Go Sioux
  4. I can't decide who I would want us to play if we make it to the semi's. I honestly think we have a better shot at beating Montana than Weber but the downside of playing Montana is that it would be at Montana which would make things more difficult. We have just played Montana closer than Weber each time we played them.
  5. Good news for Cherry. Always hate to see a senior ending his career with an injury.
  6. Like I said, I did not see the game but I do know that teams are converging down on Anderson, Webb and Huff when they are driving and they all need to dish it to a wide open man and not force any shots. Don't know how many were forced but it sounded like alot of one on one stuff which is never good for this team. Anytime this team has one guy taking that many shots we are generally always looking at a loss. Hopefully starting this week they will have 5 scoring threats that at anytime are capable of 20 points with Brekke and Schuler back and that should make a huge difference. Also what will help is the fact that Jones said the players got tired with Anderson playing 39 minutes and Huff 37 minutes. We need to be full strength for the remainder of the season and play our best.
  7. We've been very fortunate going 3-3 the last 6 games with 2 starters out of the line-up (our 4th and 5th leading scorers) and it was just a matter of time before we lost games we should have won. Huff taking 21 shots and also 7 free throws is not very good team ball. Didn't see the game but it didn't sound like a lot of team ball and obviously very poor defense to allow so many points to a team we beat badly several months ago.
  8. I believe the only way to watch the game is by paying 8 bucks on UNO's website.
  9. I don't think Nash played in any scrimmages.
  10. I know we scrimmaged them pre-season this year at a neutral court and beat them rather easily. However, at that time we had Traylor, Brekke and Schuler playing and we don't have any of them this time plus it's a home game for UNO. This one should be tight just like the last 3-4 games and come down to the wire.
  11. The women are next to last in the standings at 5-12 but still have a shot at making the conference tournament as the 7 seed. Six teams already have at least 9 wins so UND can't touch them with only 3 games left. UND must win all three games and get just alittle luck is all. Portland is at 5-11, Northern Arizona is 6-9 and Southern Utah is 6-9 and UND plays Portland and Southern Utah. Don't know why we have played 17 games and these other teams have only played 15.
  12. I agree. I thought we were very lucky to beat Eastern Washington at home cause they have a lot of talent and we could not keep Jois off the offensive glass. They had several very solid freshmen that impressed me. We should however be fine if we have Brekke and Schuler back so we are at full strength.
  13. That would be nice wouldn't it but we are not hockey or football.
  14. I've had the same thoughts, who have we got to replace this class with and I would only hope are even better talent but the only recruit so far that I know of is Hooker. As of right now after next year we will have Antwi for one year, Benton for 2 years, Salmonson for 1 year and Hooker for 3 years and thats it. Unless we get some really good JUCO players or find a couple more great players like we have in the junior class now we will not be nearly as good in my opinion. The bad of having such a dominant class that comprise 5 players that have scored most all the points since their arrival is replacing them when the time comes. The good is that they have won 2 championships and had the number 1 freshman scoring class in the nation, #3 as sophomores and with all the injuries they are the number 1 scoring junior class, truly remarkable. I only hope Jones and company have some hidden gems that they are keeping behind closed doors.
  15. With our full lineup through the entire year this team would have 4-5 more wins no doubt. I agree with you on how hard Benton plays but my concern with him is his foot speed is very slow. Once he is moved to the 2 or 3 a guard will blow right by him on defense like I have seen many times this year. He is doing great right now cause he is a physcial banger underneath and has indeed taken advantage of his opportunity with all the injuries cause he was only a 6 minute a game player just 5 games ago. I hear Brekke and Schuler should be back next week and I hope Jones goes back to his most solid lineup very quickly with Anderson, Webb, Huff, Schuler and Brekke starting cause this is our best lineup and most efficient players. These 5 juniors have done amazing things together and they are no doubt our best players. You then have Wilmer, Archer, Antwi and Benton backing them up and in a tournament crunch narrow the bench even more. Jones has done a remarkable job this year with all the adversity. Go Sioux
  16. Great road win with a very short bench. I'd say with 9 wins we are now a lock for the post season tournament. Should be interesting starting next week with a full bench as to who gets the minutes.
  17. Sportsmatic, where have u been for the last 2 months. Huff has been playing great and u have not been around to discuss him.
  18. Sportsmatic, where have u been for the last 2 months. Huff has been playing great and u have not been around to discuss him.
  19. Being the optimist here, but from what I heard they both should be fully recovered for next weeks games. Being only 1 league game this week I believe the trainer/coaches felt one more week would put them back at full strength for the final 3 games and tournament. Hard to argue with that but this team really misses them both.
  20. Brekke and Schuler are not travelling. Archer is travelling so we at least have 8 players this time.
  21. Thank you Portland State.
  22. Brekke and Schuler are a day to day whether they travel or not. Again, this would be a huge loss if neither can play. Maybe the coaches are making sure they are 100% before they send them on the road for just 1 conference game, especially since Saturday's game means nothing as far as conference. One more week of good rest should have them ready for the final run and then again the most important part of the season have them ready for the tournament. There is a huge difference when these 2 are out of the lineup versus who is in for them plus limiting our bench to very little.
  23. I knew we had a bunch of turnovers and just realized we had 21 with Webb having 7.
  24. Antwi needs to seriously change up his game. All he does is dribble side to side and only shoots a 3. He shot his first FT in league play last game and that shows he never penetrates. Its totally one dimensional and he needs to improve to be more of a complete player and threat.
  25. I agree Anderson needs more than 4 shots but my concern is that I believe teams have figured out how to guard Anderson now that we are going thru the league twice. They are guarding him tighter on the outside cause with his height he can't shoot over anybody and they are really clogging the middle to eliminate his drives. Most of his scoring comes from layups and getting fouled while driving for a layup. Teams are taking this away from him kinda easily lately which is of concern. What I do like is that he is not forcing shots and getting more assists in finding an open man.
