Dont remember Traylor ever passing the ball in 2 years. Did anybody ever here of an inside out game. So basically not fundamental at all.

That doesn't work when the opposition plays together and has good chemistry. I would rather have less athletic players with higher basketball IQ's that have good chemistry and play together. Then you would have a very good team. Look what all these athletic players have gotten us this year.

Poor shots without a single pass is troubling for this team. Jones should bench the player everytime this happens and then I would hope they would learn.

At this point I am very disappointed in this team, however we have 3 home games coming up in a row and if we don't win at least 2 of these then we are in serious trouble of making the conference tournament. These players and coaches have several days to ponder how they are playing and who is playing and make some major changes. If we don't start passing the ball when driving with 2-3 players on us then every team will start guarding with 3-4 players and the bad shots will continue. When we did get open looks against Northern Colorado the shots weren't falling but those nights will happen and I would rather miss an open shot then take a terrible shot and miss. Our shooters will come around and start hitting those shots. Help defense is a total joke when someone is driving and at this level and the amount of experience this makes no sense. Is this coaching or is it that some of the players don't care and just want to play offense. I say sit the players that are not willing to play defense cause our bigger scorers are giving up more easy points that they are making. Further judgement will be after our next 3 home games.

After watching this game we need to play a zone cause we cannot guard penetration by anybody. Lets try a zone.

How many points has Huff given up going for steals and missing them just this half. Just play defense.

Why is Schuler not playing more.

I agree, throw out the first game against a d3 team and his average is about 2. Should have been a red shirt. Brekke is a huge loss as mentioned but it still would not have helped the defense much.

Our guys doing all the scoring are giving up more than they score. They have not learned how to play defense in 4 years and its not going to change in the last 20 games. Don't understand the rotation so far this game and who is playing more than others.

Huff just had anderson for a wide open layup on a 2 on 1 and still refused to pass it. This is getting so old for him..

Love that lineup. This would be our most potent scoring lineup but Jones will never make the change. He is stuck on Anderson at the 2 when he is truly a small point guard. We have maybe the best talent in the league but so many players are out of position due to our lack of production down low without Brekke. Without Brekke with your lineup above I would move Traylor down to the 5 and start him and Benton down to the 4 behind Nash.

Agree he is a banger and very physical down low but has not shown to be much in the scoring department and his outside shot and free throw shooting is not good. He did have a few good games last year but he is primarily used to be physical against the much bigger guys. Benton has a guards height but a down low mentality. He is good at being physical but truly should not play many minutes.

Can't believe I agree with you twice in one day. Schuler is very valuable to this team and all Jones is doing is getting him beat up and injured playing on the low block for free throws. His freshman year he played the off guard and what scored around 300 points and over 20 several times and the last 2 years he is playing the 4. He is a shooter and when he is given shots is probably our best outside threat. Put Huff in the low block on free throws and have Schuler out top please. I also agree with going only 3-4 off the bench and give these seniors a chance at a 1 seed so we can be dancing with our best. Everyone has had their chances thru these non conference games and we all know who should be playing. The Big Sky wont pose as much of a threat to us down low so lets beat them with speed and sharp shooting guards. I would start Webb, Anderson, Huff, Nash and Traylor at the 5. Bring Hooker amd Schuler off the bench for around 25 minutes and then some minutes for Calcaterra and Benton. Only use Antwi if the guards get into foul trouble for limited minutes and I still like Stefen a lot but he has just not done much so use him for zones If they are really sagging in on our guards driving. It should be fairly simple for our coaches at this point but who knows.

I agree, it's time for this team to start putting things together and beating Northern Colorado on the road is a great way to start. They need to start playing better together though in order to do this.

The problem with guys like Stefen, Schuler and Antwi who are our true shooters besides Anderson is they don't get touches or shots. A true shooter needs to shoot and get into a flow but unfortunately with our team these guys have never got the ball when open and hardly get to shoot. It's a shame cause if given the opportunity Schuler has proven he can light it up and with Stefen's stroke he could do the same thing. This type of offense should get them shots but then again no one passes to the open shooter.

Only players on this team that know how to box out are the guards and they are so undersized and out of position that a good box out does very little most of the time.

Yeah the Princeton offense was a joke but the offense we run now is run in similar fashion by many top teams with the exception that they move the ball around to the open man and they have a great inside out game which I don't recall once this year that when the ball goes down low it ever gets kicked back out. Our fundamentals are so bad its getting hard to watch and that's exactly why we are getting beat at this point.

We have key players playing out of position badly. We have guards playing the 4 and all that is happening is they are getting hurt. Schuler is getting beat up and he is a natural 2 that kicked *ss his freshman year and since he has played the 4. He is one that should be at the 2 and let him shoot. We have also a shooter in Stefen that hardly played tonight. Jones obviously thinks he can just out run and out jump everybody without bringing in guys that can take teams out of the zones with shooters. We are in deep trouble with the lack of any post presence and it doesn't look like it will get any better. Teams will dump it down low and zone us. This is so frustrating.

This group of seniors has so much talent but they have not learned or improved on their chemistry or team play one bit since their freshmen year. At this point I would say this is all coaching that nobody has improved and its all about them getting their points and missing wide open players. A major shake in this lineup is needed. Its getting hard to watch and a shame this keeps happening.
