Gotta say that Frattin and Trupp goals were amazing. Trupp's stop and feed to Frattin in the slot was perfect. Kristos feed to Malone and Malone's awareness to feed it to Trupp was awesome. I would say 95% of players in the slot would try and backhand that shot in, instead Malone knew where Trupp would be and feed him for the great play.

Nice game for the Sioux. I love how we showed up hungry (even if it was against a "lesser" opponent). UofMN is completely different the last couple years, losing against definitely less talented teams. Lets keep up the intensity!

I completely disagree. After watching that series I have more respect for him. His business like approach to hockey and his pure love for the game I could completely relate with. Who cares if he complains about a call, thats called passion. He should voice his opinion if he doesn't like a call or a player cheap shots him. He's a leader and a captain, if he didn't say anything he wouldn't being doing his job. Even though he scored a goal that still haunts me to this day, I have to respect him. As for the diving, most players embelish a little to get calls there way, not that I'm condoning that behavior. Hockey is strategy so when talented speedster like Crosby draws pens he goes in Pitts favorite. As for Crosby (and Ovi) being advertised by the league a lot, WHY wouldn't they? He's agruably the best player in the world. Has to be top 3 at least. As a fan of the NHL they would be committing grave sin if they didn't showcase the best talent. They do advertise Toews, Kane, and others, Crosby is just the forefront. Look at the NBA, they do it with Lebron (ESPNs love affair with him is well documented). After Brees won it last year, all you see is Brees commericals reminding us Vikings fans of THE interception. As for the Gretzky agrument that will never end. In 10 years though, we'll all look back on Crosby and say wow. He's a Gretzky like talent. You can't compare apples to oranges people. They grew up in different stages and eras of the NHL, no one will win 5 MVP trophies in the NHL, nor in any league. No team will ever win 5 straight cups, or 4 for that matter. Two straight cups now days are almost impossible to come by.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Eids on Friday night to keep him involved. We'll need him down the stretch as the season wares on. Brad isn't going go anywhere, although I've heard hes trying to finish his degree early. Although if Gothberg comes in next year thats 4 goalies, talk about a logjam.

Also there is no relation between the two Mattson's, so if you were thinking brothers/cousins both jumping ship it isn't true. Danny Mattson de-committing makes sense with all the forwards coming in and in addition to Taylor Dickin. Now on D is another story, in two years we'll need Nick Mattson shoring up our D.

Wow, I wonder if this was more of the coaches withdrawing the offer because of the lack of progress. Although hes having a good season, this helps open up next year a bit more. I was looking forward to see him at UND ever since he commited out of the Holy Angels, good luck Danny at BSU.

As a fan it bothers me that we never know about the status of our players, but at the same time its good strategy for the coaches as well, teams don't know how to necessarily prepare for the Sioux. Its a Bill Belichick move.

Same here, I'm pumped as well. I have Public Enemy running through my mind, "Don't believe the hype." With all this talk of his speed, nack of scoring, and the points he puts up on every level he plays, I'm excited to believe the hype. Also a previous post gave a comparsion of VandeValde and JT Miller, I actually would have to agree. He's a tough power forward from the several shifts I've seen of him.

His biggest decision right now isn't what college, but whether he is going stay at Apple Valley or go onto the US Development program in MI. Just spectulating, if he does go to the development program then going to UND wouldn't be a big change at all being close enough to the cities.
