This right here, UND is the worst fanbase ever when we do it. But when it’s UNO fans doing it and it’s plastered all over Twitter…crickets. It’s not a big deal but someone has to point out the hypocrisy

My favorite is showcasing their cool in the corner camera that doesn't cut away quickly enough to watch a player all alone in the slot with a great scoring chance. To be honest, I've seen UND broadcasts get caught doing this so maybe my expectations are too high for college hockey.

I could have wrote this, insert Naumenko and I'm right there with you. We'd be at the women's basketball game over at the Hyslop and there was an exodus before the men's game(the women were the team to watch) to go across the street to the Old REA. I always thought it was so cool to go in the tunnel beneath Columbia.

The fact that you think it has to be one or the other is laughable. Wait, wasn't Schmaltz a flashy player? Wasn't Boeser a flashy player? We must have really lucked into that title. I want guys that have a ton of skill and stay 2-3 years in addition to 4 year guys that set the culture of the team. To answer your question, yes I want flashy players who can carry the puck up the ice by themselves, create highlight game winning goals, AND will just as easily dive across the freakin crease to keep a goal out of our net to advance to the NCHC Frozen Faceoff. And in doing so, slice their hand so far open they can't play most of their first season in the NHL. Correct me if I'm wrong but CC is quite a bit more strict as to who is accepted in, which could work against them in getting the best players. Also, not like it's a full on campus experience being a small liberal arts college.

I just thought it was funny you said "how down UND has been". Sure, we've had some disappointing exits being eliminated by UMD in a 5th OT, losing to Notre Dame, and getting outplayed by a pandemic but I'd say they are anything but down years. A down year was 2018-19, this year is looking like it'll be one(TBD) but not the last 3. I'll trot this stat out again, average years between titles: DU 7.9, Michigan 8.2, UND 9.2, Wisco 9.5, Gophers 14.8, BC 14.8, UMD 19.3 For people expecting us to win it all every 4-5 years you're going to be disappointed more often than not. Our last title was 2016, so we'd have to get through the 2027 Frozen Four without winning a title to be "below average"(I'm not counting 2020 as an opportunity for obvious reasons).
