  1. Related to this, you gotta think the NCHC might consider getting a new policy or adding a rider to their current policy that includes pandemics similar to what the R&A utilized for this summer's British Open. All this assuming they don't currently have this in place, but I'd guess Schloss would have reported on that if that was the case. It sounds like their reserve fund is used for these purposes which is fine until that fund gets depleted.
  2. I need more of these hockey metaphors in this discussion, greatly increases the thread's appeal IMO
  3. Between USCHO and CHN, there must be some sort of reward for being the first to cancel next season. Progress is happening fast and the entire world is focused on finding a way through this so what's the obsession with prematurely smothering any hope to produce "content" and get some site traffic?
  4. It was supposed to open for a few weeks last fall but flooding tanked those plans. I'd think they would open but then again it's tied to the university so maybe not? King's Walk driving range opening possibly this wkd and course opening next week. Have a feeling there will be a lot of people interested in golf(and other outdoor activities) as there's limited options so it'd be nice if Ray Dick's opened to spread out the traffic.
  5. My memory was off, but STILL wow, what a 4th line. Rowney's sure had more than a cup of coffee in the big leagues. That team was stacked.
  6. Wasn't Brock Nelson a 4th liner on the 2010-11 team?
  7. I think he'll be a huge asset to UNO, explosive player that can put the puck in the net but can get exposed a little defensively. Reminded me of a poor man's Chay Genoway, which feels weird to type since JT was drafted 2nd round.
  8. Think it may be a result of how big of a get he was when he originally committed, that and Massimo Rizzo is a sweet name!
  9. Where I am most concerned is losing mentality, the motor and penalty kill abilities of the players that graduated. Cole Smith, Westin Michaud and Dixon Bowen(surprising right?) will not be easily replaced. Colton Poolman was also incredibly reliable and seemed to keep the team on an even keel. I don't see us having issues scoring goals but last season's team was exceptionally good at not getting too high or too low no matter what situation they found themselves in. I think the seniors were the reason for that.
  10. Ryan Ruck may have some PTSD if he had to start vs UND. He couldn't even beat us when he was on the "hottest team in the country" going into the 2016 NCAAs
  11. They've also gone 8-2-1 in their last 11 and 3-1 in their last 4 vs top 5 teams in the country. See how easy it is to manipulate stats to say what you want them to?
  12. They must be making up for the fact that there is only 5 times all season they've been able to vent.
  13. Scheel had a crap game, 2nd goal was terrible. But everyone seems to already have forgotten his performance vs WMU last weekend to lock up a share of the Penrose, 2 goals on 43 shots .953 save % including some big times one at the end of Saturday's game. That being said, Thome deserves the net tonight. Let's go get that f'ing Penrose tonight and extend UMD's streak without a regular season championship to 27 years!
  14. After staying under their bridge most of the season, I see they're out in full force tonight...
  15. Ha! I responded before I saw your post
  16. Every time I put on my personalized #6 Sioux jersey
  17. Anyone know when golf courses open in St Cloud?
  18. Saw that too, has to be the only time that upside has been that big with the last 6 games of the season. Playing the #1,#4,& #5 pairwise ranked teams to finish out the year.
  19. 23-3-3, Penrose on the way, #1 overall seed looking good, stout recruiting pipeline... definitely should've canned him last March
  20. This is the correct answer
  21. BSU and MTU helping out our cause as well. Wins that didn't seem like they'd be a quality win looking quite different since.
  22. You can never have enough In Heaven There Is No Beer...
  23. If you watch the full replay Brink wound up for a slap shot, started to stumble, which caused Smith to go for broke to clear the zone. Brink surprisingly regains his footing, turns to protect the puck as Smith slides into the back of his legs since Brink had turned around. 2 minutes tripping sure, but if you're calling for a major it's only because it resulted in an injury on a type of play that happens multiple times a weekend and is not called "clipping". Hope Bobby is back soon, he's got a rocket of a shot and is a fun player to watch. I've noticed every time we play Denver and someone gets injured the keyboard warriors are calling for a suspension/kick said player out of college hockey. It is getting kind of silly.
  24. They just didn't have the right formula that year...
