  1. Wyatt Kaiser maybe?
  2. Fanti looks locked in
  3. Heard the same on goalie and D being the portal additions and that Blake, McLaughlin, and Strinden were locks to come in and James and Spicer were TBD. Hadn't heard on the other stuff but it all makes sense. Would love to have Hain back and I know he has a great shot but Calder was a guy I expected to get more out of. Honestly at this point I don't see him as a guarantee top 6 guy for us, may be better off signing if he gets any kind of pro contract. I just don't see a lot of difference between him, Montgomery, Albrecht, Ness, Portz.
  4. From what I've heard they will have Hedquist play another year of juniors and go to the portal for a goalie. I know there has been some speculation on the Michigan State guy but I'm not sold on him. It also seems like they will hit up the portal for a D. The question is who comes in at forward. You have the 3 locks in Blake, McLaughlin, and Strinden but I think I'd bring in at least one of James or Spicer too even if you get another year of Hain.
  5. Minnesota found their legs in the 3rd and OT and absolutely dominated.
  6. Based on what I've heard we have for sure coming in Blake, McLaughlin, and Strinden. James and Spicer are TBD but I get the feeling it is getting more likely James is on campus next fall. They will be looking to the portal for a defenseman and goalie as they don't feel those guys are ready to make the jump. Likely a grad transfer goalie and probably a little more open on his class.
  7. I like Hellsten but I'd feel a lot more comfortable adding a proven transfer for him to compete with. The other key for me as long as you get the guys back that you think should be back which in my mind means only Sanderson as an early departure is that we have to have the young guys coming in be the skilled guys and we need to see some self improvement from some of the other guys. Looking at the returning group of forwards you have a lot of guys that just seem to play basically the same style. Hard on the forecheck, good in the cylce/along the boards, average speed at best, not great playmakers. You have Gaber that stands out as the guy that is different. Portz, Albrecht, Ness, Jamernik, Kunz, Montgomery all play that similar style and too many times this year you had Costantini, Caulfield, and Calder fall into that group as well. Need Costantini, Caulfield, Schmaltz, and probably at least one more guy to have an uptick in the speed/skill game. I remember the way Chyzk's skating and skill seemed to take a big jump I think it was between JR/SR seasons and we need some improvements like that. Do we think all of Blake, James, McLaughlin, Spicer, and Strinden come in? If so I think I'd go: Gaber-Schmaltz-Blake Costantini-McGlaughlin-Caulfield James/Strinden-Jamernik-Calder Spicer-Ness-Albrecht Kunz-Montgomery-Budy Kleven-Frisch Jandric-Bast Moore-Johnson Ferner-? Dunbar ? Hellsten Hedquist Feeney/Johnson
  8. When you think about playmaking ability is there any forward besides Gaber that really had the ability to go make something happen on their own on the rush? I'd argue after Gaber our next best playmakers were probably a couple defensemen which to me says a lot about the lack of skill up front.
  9. Went on like a month long run where they overachieved and played the exact style this group had to to be successful but this was a very average squad for UND's standards and imo a below average squad for what we expect talent wise.
  10. Completely agree. This just was not a typical Sioux team talent and skill wise especially down Sanderson. The lack of team speed and playmaking in this forward group was a problem many of us saw very early in the season and it reared its head these last couple weeks big time. Honestly I just wanted this group to make the tournament and hoped for a little puck luck so that run they went on to win a NCHC Championship was pretty cool but my expectations never got too high. Usually I find a way to pick UND in the bracket but I couldn't do it this year.
  11. Albany
  12. Holden and Starman it is!
  13. Just a guess but would bet Bucci is either Albany or Worcester. Matvick said towards the end of the womens game he has Allentown.
  14. They used to have at least one first round game Saturday and maybe another on Saturday or Sunday on ESPN2.
  15. Like that is a night game but wish we got Friday for another day of recovery this week.
  16. This was my first guess too except I have Western Michigan's group in Albany and Michigan's group in Allentown. To me it basically comes down to whether they want to put UND/ND & Minnesota/UMass together or UND/UMass & Minnesota/St.Cloud together. I think whether we get UMass or not probably determines whether we are in Worcester or Albany.
  17. Got a workout in this morning, got some groceries, picked up some pizza, little time outside, play with my 1 year old niece who is visiting for the weekend, watched/watching NCAA Tournament games, high school games, and will put Minnesota/Michigan on one TV. Honestly not a whole lot different than if UND won except UND game would be on my big TV and MN/Mich would mix in with NCAA games on the other one.
  18. Love the Correa signing even though it is basically a one year deal. Need to make a move for one of those Oakland starters. Have some depth to deal from with Larnach, Sabato, Cavaco, Martin, Lewis, Wallner, etc as position players.
  19. Just kind of a choppy game tonight. Not a lot of flow or anything real smooth. Had some real good chances that you have to convert on at this time of the year. Another day to get healthy and see who we get next week on Sunday.
  20. Air Force Quinnipiac Lowell Minnesota State Minnesota North Dakota
  21. Vikes extend Cousins for a year to create roughly 15 million in cap space. Tom Brady no longer retired.
  22. I'm honestly kind of shocked he won Mr. Hockey. I watched Roseau 3 times and he was solid but didn't jump off the screen like you'd expect a sure fire D1 guy to. Kind of lets things come to him and sometimes that just doesn't happen where the top guys you usually see them go out and make it happen.
  23. I was a big fan of Donovan and disappointed to lose him. I think it is obvious the Wisconsin system holding him back
