Twins getting a "fresh look" this offseason. I'm not a huge fan of what the current white and grey uniforms are so I'll be interested to see what they do there. HAVE to keep the powder blue look in the rotation and wear them more! https://www.mlb.com/news/twins-plan-brand-refresh-of-uniforms-logos

Definitely a shorthanded lineup tonight. Personally might've swapped Caulfield and Portz in the line combos.

Just so stupid. Absolutely sucks had a great opportunity to grab control of the West and you had a lot of buzz building and then you come with a no show effort on homecoming in front of a packed stadium where they actually got the fans to execute the stripe out pretty well. So many mistakes. Had every opprtunity to win the game but missing 29 yard field goals and turning easy 10 yard slant TDs into interceptions doesn't get it done. The call from Fleck to go for it on 4th and 1 from the 29 in your own territory when you weren't running the ball for anything in the 1st quarter might've been the worst part and gave Purdue 3. I know there was no Mo today and he is a huge loss but guys just didn't look ready to go and Purdue getting O'Connell back was huge. That game @ Illinois in a couple weeks is gonna be a big one.

Illinois is solid. Going into this week them and Purdue were the two I was most worried about as threats to the Gophers.

What are your line predictions for this season?

Just read it. They surveyed "people around the hockey world" including NHL scouts, USHL executives, agents and fellow coaches in college hockey. 20 voters and each voter was asked for a top five, with five points being awarded for a top-place vote and a single one given for a fifth-place vote. “Best recruiter” meant different things to different people, and some pointed out that recruiting is a team effort, but voters were asked to combine the coaches’ ability to identify talent and to convince the players to commit while incorporating the caliber of program they work for when considering the talent they bring in (to prevent this from becoming a list of the premier schools’ coaches).

Todd Knott from Mankato? From my hometown, dad coached him in high school, and his brother is married to a cousin of mine. Great guy and has had opportunity to be a head coach but it will take a special job/location. Thought Augustana should've went with him.

Giants, I expected the Eagles to be very good

Think part of the reason Batchelder was headed to CC was supposed to be to come in this season, but with him back in the USHL looks like they weren't on the same page
-
Former Colorado College commit and Eden Prairie star Carter Batchelder has reopened

Pulling Ober when he is cruising and at 70 pitches with 4 games still left in the series makes less than zero sense, this staffs pitching management is just dumb.

Looking like another loss tonight and 3.5 behind Cleveland and at least 1.5 behind Chicago. Must win Sunday!

Correa came through with a big hit, Miranda added the insurance late, Bundy was good, and Duran came through in the big spot. Needed that win.

In the article from Schloss McInnis picked us over Duluth and Michigan

Cease no hits the Twins for 8 2/3 innings which you could almost see coming an Arraez single kept the no-no from happening , Mahle gives up 4 in the first and leaves after 2 innings with shoulder soreness again, White Sox score 13 and are right back in the race.

Probably the most surprising half of football so far this weekend to me. Really thought OSU would roll.

Fleck is who he is it isn't an act. He is full of energy and loves his players and they love him. Terrible take. Big Ten West is solid and if you look at overall performance east/west it isn't a huge favor for east but yes outside of Ohio State and now Michigan coming on the B1G is more solid teams and less playoff contender types. PJ has done plenty that Mason didn't do and I liked Mason. Played in and won in a new years day bowl, 11 win season, win in Madison are just some early in his career are just some. Gophers could name the score against New Mexico State. Their defense was only on the field for 33 total plays and allowed 6 1st downs and 91 yards. PJ isn't the type to run the score up he'd rather just be very vanilla in the non-con even though it gets boring sometimes. For some reason New Mexico State sat back with 2 safeties all night Thursday so the Gophers took advantage of the lite boxes. Having Kirk back at OC makes a huge difference and in the 23 pass attempts Thursday you could see it as the passing game concepts and timing were so much better. The Sanford hire a couple years ago was a big mistake from PJ but he has corrected it just like the Smith hire at DC early in his career.

Had to have the TD there, couldn't settle for just 6 on two consecutive trips inside the 10

Chance to get back into a tie for 1st and let it slip away. Need to take these next 2 against Chicago before heading to New York with Cleveland facing Seattle right now before they get Kansas City Monday. I'd move Duran into the closer role but that was my feeling when they acquired Lopez, I thought Lopez should've just been used as a setup guy/2nd closer when Duran couldn't go. Lopez has really struggled with command. The homerun of Thielbar was a real hanger too although it didn't even look like the guy hit it very well.
-
I'd love to see him pile it on especially with the personal shots from Kill but I'm just not sure PJ will. I'd say Gophers win like 42-7 coasting through the 4th.
-
I would hope so.

Have figured that would be the destination for a long time

Not sure if he will ever be ready for it either. Manion sure isn't the answer to backup QB either. I would expect/hope the Vikes to be on the lookout for a QB, maybe a TE, at least one MLB, and maybe a safety. Gonna have some tough decisions to make at both RB and WR. Do you keep 5 backs in Cook, Mattison, Chandler, Nwangu, and Ham or maybe see if you can get something for Mattison. At WR do you keep 6? Jefferson, Thielen, Osborn, Smith-Marsete, Jackson, and Johnson, Wilson has had some decent moments as well.
