  1. Swanson is a nice pull Have to continue to build on it now, get back to consistently landing the top tier guys instead of 1 here or there
  2. Solid night up and down the lineup Really liked that James-Strinden-Caulfield combo tonight much better emphasis on supporting the puck and making yourself available Have to back it up with another win tomorrow. Can’t come in sleepwalking, set the tone for 60 more minutes of attacking
  3. It was really getting bad when Whalen took over but I just think people thought Whalen would automatically be a good coach because she was a great player and great leader but sometimes that just doesn't translate to a good coach.
  4. Gopher women are really bad. I know Whalen has the great freshman class and their top one didn't play but they only have like 5-6 women capable of playing at the high D1 level. Not sure how much longer Lindsay sticks around could see the mutual parting at the end of this season for the good of the program.
  5. Hain-McLaughlin-Blake James-Schmaltz-Gaber Senden-Jamernik-Strinden Ness-Costantini-Portz-Caulfield Kleven-Jandric Moore-Frisch Farmer-Johnson Hellsten DeRidder
  6. To be fair that is Donatell's scheme most of the time which I can't stand. This team showed a ton of toughness today. Offense made a ton of mistakes from KOC on down but overcame them, D came up with some big plays when they had to have them. Need to be on the lookout for a kicker, 4 extra point misses already is a problem.
  7. Absolutely embarrassing performance. Constantly beat to every puck and just look so slow. Guys don’t want the puck and when they get it it seems to be a contest to see how quick you can just slap it away doesn’t matter where or who it goes to. Our primary breakout seems to be chipping it off the glass which is an absolute joke and our transition seems to be just flipping it forward although we struggle to get a decent flip. The best thing our defenseman do is provide screens on our goalie for the opponent. It used to be you could tune in for Sioux hockey and you were gonna see some exciting, fast, skilled, physical hockey. You wouldn’t always see a win although you did more often than not but you’d at least get an enjoyable exciting game. Right now that isn’t the case at all this team isn’t showing any of those qualities. If you had to describe their game you’d say slow, soft, and sloppy. This team isn’t winning and definitely isn’t playing fun exciting hockey. It’s weird to not even really feel excitement when looking toward games but right now that’s the way this group has me feeling.
  8. I like the combos of like 2/3 forwards on each line so I guess that is an improvement
  9. UConn beats Liberty for bowl eligibility Vandy picks up a conference win over Kentucky
  10. Minnesota's highest paid was Gable Steveson who had multiple NIL deals after winning an Olympic gold medal. He had a contract with WWE and has made appearances there, I'd imagine that was a big chunk of his money.
  11. Minnesota has 2 collectives. I know with the dinkytownathletes one it was just taking the initiative and getting it started. It isn't a group that has a lot of big money donors or anything they just sell memberships that people can pay monthly and will sometimes raffle off tickets or they will get a message from athletes and stuff like that as part of the membership. They just have it so members can pay at different levels per month. Seems like something UND could do the biggest thing is just getting someone to take the initiative and organize it. https://dinkytownathletes.com/about/ https://www.twincitiesnilclub.com/
  12. You are correct on the college baseball getting guys getting good $$$$ in the SEC especially at a place like LSU. However college baseball is not a niche sport in the south, in fact most of the SEC programs specifically can make money off college baseball. They are putting big money into their stadiums, facilities, and players and the fans show up down there.
  13. When I say Minnesota's NIL I'm talking about the collective that a group started there. It isn't directly with the school no. Minnesota's is called Dinkytown Athletes and I think they have another but I can't remember the name.
  14. I don't think NIL is near as big of factor in college hockey recruiting as a lot of people think. The NIL focus is going to football and basketball primarily from boosters. At a place like Minnesota it finds it way to some hockey but I know Minnesota's NIL is still kind of getting its feet wet and not real solid yet. The top guys that are hyped coming in like a Cooley, Eichel, or thinking back to a guy like Toews or Kessel are probably getting NIL deals from hockey companies no matter where they go. If you think boosters at Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, Arizona State, etc. are focused on getting their money to hockey recruits you'd be disappointed to find out where hockey is on their priority list.
  15. Feels like a huge missed opportunity Not gonna beat good teams when you allow a couple weak goals
  16. A tie against a bad team Ive seen enough of Sidorski, he always seems to be on the ice when bad things happen and brings nothing Thought some guys found their game a little this weekend. Caulfield, Kunz, Portz, Ness, and James. I still really don’t trust DeRidder, all over the place and seems to struggle tracking the puck at times
  17. Morgan getting hurt changed the game gotta think it was concussion related again. If that is the case you have to turn it over to AK for the rest of this season and that is probably best for the program anyway. I appreciate all Tanner has done and the way he represents Minnesota but the ceiling with Athan is so so much higher.
  18. Seemed to be around the puck a ton when he was on the ice. Think some rustiness with some mishandles. Solid, want to see consistent PT for him because I think his game is just going to go up with time.
  19. Pretty solid in all areas. One of the better dzone games this team has played all year, not many grade As for Omaha at all. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Hellsten tomorrow night. Liked Ness and James game tonight.
  20. Not the way you did evidently? I saw a normal celebration after a win
  21. I haven't seen UND celebrate any win this year really big except for the Minnesota win and that is a different situation because game winning ending goals always are. I really don't care where the game is or whether it is a destination game or not it is just another regular season game. Games against Minnesota, Denver, Duluth, St. Cloud, and really all conference games are much higher on the priority list. I'm not minimizing what they did I'm saying they should celebrate the win but acting like last night is the be all end all and celebrating to that extent is over the top. If you want to be a legitimate program you should have your eyes on something bigger.
