  1. Junior Karson Kuhlman of Cloquet committed to UMD, sounds like he visited UND but UMD was always his favorite and hometown team.
  2. I would start the year with this lineup Kristo-Knight-Grimaldi MA.MacMillan-Rowney-Parks Cagilua-Rodwell-O’Donnell Gaarder-Pattyn-Chyzk Senkbeil-St.Clair-Sanderson-MI.MacMillan Schmaltz-MacWilliam Forbort-Mattson Simpson-Gleason Panzerella Gothberg Saunders Maris
  3. Reading his comments it really seems like he was at least somewhat worried about playing time and felt it was best to move on and that his stock probably wasn't gonna rise much, especially with the playing time concern.
  4. I don't know who else applied but I'm sure the former player thing helped him a lot in getting the job. I believe he played high school hockey at Detroit Lakes and always seemed like a very hard worker and good kid. Although he doesn't have much experience I think it will be a good hire for SCSU and he will be able to relate to the players very well, probably will help that he played with the program and will take a lot of pride in that program.
  5. Not sure if he will be headed to the CHL or not but saw this on twitter, also heard he may be looking for a package deal with his brother. Schlossman ‏@SchlossmanGF Many expected this for months. RT @MattyMo26: Kevin Roy won't be honoring his commitment to Brown. Let the sweepstakes begin.
  6. I would guess we are after him just based on what I have seen from him and his high skill level and the way he plays, but I have no inside information at all to base this on and really just hope that we are after him and can get him.
  7. Got me on that one too
  8. Took the tour of the Betty and Ralph this past spring saw the press box, locker rooms, training rooms, weight room, and everything else we wanted too see, although it was kind of weird as they were setting up for the circus. There were some former players working out in the weight room at the time and we just stopped in quick and check out things, also saw they were redoing the cold/hot tubs in the Sioux locker room and that is when I learned the team moves out of the main locker room after every season and doesn't get to move back in until they have officially made the roster for the next year at least according to the tour guide.
  9. Could add Charlie Coyle to that list too he was at BU before bolting mid season last year.
  10. Also has potential recruit defenseman Ian Mccoshen listed as "A list" prospect.
  11. I would guess he will start in Houston by looking at the D-men they have returning and now adding Suter and possibly another 1 or 2 top prospects in Brodin and Dumba to the roster.
  12. Looks like a done deal Parise and Suter have definitely made the Wild serious contenders. Michael Russo ‏@Russostrib RT @StarTribune: The #MnWild agrees to terms with Suter, still working on Parise. http://strib.mn/Mx7VAF Michael Russo ‏@Russostrib #mnwild has agreed to terms on Zach Parise to 13-year deal; Now it's official. Maybe they'll announce Winter Classic today for trifecta. ha Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie Zach Parise has agreed to terms with MIN.
  13. I think she is from North Dakota and I thought I heard they met at UND but not exactly sure.
  14. Maybe a little more on this Brian Lawton tweeted this last night Brian Lawton ‏@brianlawton9 Sorry about late night ...... Just back in town. Not sure yet on Parise but word is Ryan Suter will be playing for the MN Wild next season! Wasn't sure how good of a source he is but it says in his bio. he is a former NHL Player, NHLPACertified Agent, and NHL General Manager working for over 27 years in the National Hockey League
  15. Yep thats what I ws getting at, I'm very optimistic that if he is going to sign today and he is going to be Minnesota that it is going to be with the Wild. If he does announce he is signing with someone else in Minnesota he may need a new set of advisers.
  16. Yeah it just seems like I've seen a lot of people try to use the not playing high school or college in Minnesota as an argument and I really don't think that means much at all.Oh my bad I thought Parise mostly grew up in Faribault, another obvious reason as to why he went to school there was his father worked with the program which is another reason why I don't put much stock into him not playing high school hockey or leaving the state for college. People saying the Wild really have no talent need to remember that they had the best record in the league around the all star break and would have definitely been a playoff team without so many injuries.
  17. He stayed in Toronto last night and is supposedly flying back to Minnesota today, I had heard he is scheduled to land soon. Anyone else heard the rumor that Babcock is milling around the Twin Cities? wonder if that means anything as it seems like the rumors of him and the Red Wings have been kind of quiet the last couple days.
  18. I think people put way too much stock in him not playing high school hockey, I believe he lived in Faribault and that is where Shattuck is located so its not like he went out of his way to get there. He chose the school that was more competitive and better for his development. With the reports being that Parise is flying back to Minnesota today I just can't see him coming back home to announce he is going somewhere else like Chicago or Pittsburgh.
  19. I got 9 years 90 million to the Wild, but I'd be alright with him going to the Hawks too since those are my 2 favorite teams.
  20. Pretty sure Skjei is a sure thing to Minnesota. I remember reading comments from him recently that its been his dream to play for the Gophers and those kind of things, plus he has already started some summer school at Minnesota and even left the Rangers prospect camp early to get back to start school.
  21. He was good at Holy Angels before and really took another big step up last year after transfering to Edina. I was very impressed with his play in the state tournament and would agree that he was one of the top and most exciting players in the tournament. He definitely has a lot of potential and a bright future. I am sure UND is interested in him and I would guess the usual suspects like Minnesota and Wisconsin will be going after him as well and he will have his choice of where he wants to play at the next level, but I haven't seen or heard anything about which way he might be leaning at all.
  22. Gopher recruit Brady Skjei was drafted in the 1st round by the Rangers and hopefully for their and college hockeys sake he doesn't let the pressure from the Rangers effect his decison when they try to steer him to major juniors unlike some kid named JT Miller. I hate that NHL teams try to talk their draft picks out of their decisons they have already made and hope Skjei actually has some loyalty and can stand the pressure the Rangers will try to put on him to go MJ.
  23. Congrats to Jordan on being drafted by the Blues and even though he has strongly insisted how committed he is to UND and I have believed him it's nice to have him go to a team that has had success with college kids and you know won't try to pressure him to go play major juniors.
  24. HAHA I saw the same thing on the HF boards, very few fans that actually knew about UND on there and a lot who had never seen a game but saw a few guys were leaving for the pros and thought that must mean next year will be bad for the program. A lot of people who thought they were experts on UND and thought that Kristo was making a horrible decison and they shoud deal him now but in reality most except for a few fans really had no idea about UND.
  25. I really hope Dell comes back as it is always good to have depth, but I don't see any way Gothberg isn't ahead of Saunders on the depth chart whether Dell is here or not. Saunders was brought in to add depth and experiecnce to the position in the event that Dell leaves but I think they still expect Gothberg to take the job. I wouldn't be suprised to see Gothberg starting a lot of games even if Dell stays and he will especially be starting the majority of games if Dell leaves.
