Nick Poehling gets the winner to give Lakeville North a 5-4 win on the powerplay in the 2nd OT. Each team had a slashing penalty in the 2nd OT and I thought they were both kind of weak for an OT. Poehling gets to experience the moment every Minnesota kid dreams of growing up.

And we will go to a 2nd Overtime.
-
Eden Prairie and Lakeville North will head to overtime tied at 4 great game so far.
-
Eden Prairie 3 Lakeville North 2 after 1 at the soldout X. The UNO commit Spinner has been impressive for EP tonight after really not doing much yesterday. He looks like a pure goal scorer and can really shoot the puck and already has 2 goals on the very good freshman goalie Oettinger. Didn't really expect this one to be the shootout it has been so far but there really haven't been any weak goals and there has been some good back and forth action.

Noon tomorrow

EGF advances to face Hermantown in the Class A Championship with the 2-1 win over St.Cloud Cathedral. EGF physically dominant in the game and had to have at least 4 times as many hits as Cathedral and many of the very big variety. EGF finishes with a 36-22 shot advantage despite missing the net quite a bit on some decent chances and really only gave up maybe 4 good chances to Cathedral. EGF will need to clean up its transition game and passing as it was a little sloppy at times. I would expect a very physical battle tomorrow with Hermantown.
-
EGF leads 2-1 with just 5:22 remaining and really throwing around their weight all over the ice and Cathedral has no physical response.
-
Tweeten finishes a nice feed from Grant Loven on a 2-on-1 for the 2-1 lead now 10:30 left in the 3rd.
-
1-1 after 2. EGF really hasn't given up much but Cathedral was able to cash in on one of the very few good chances they have had. Cathedral has done a pretty decent job clogging up the neutral zone and not giving EGF the middle. Reffing has been rather weak imo as EGF has been the much more physical team and been called for penalties on 3 good clean hits but Cathedral has got away with the holding and stick-work stuff all game.
-
EGF leads 1-0 after 1. Started off real fast and physical and got an early goal from Poolman. Have pretty well controlled the game so far and not given Cathedral any real good chances. Need to clean up their turnovers a little bit and use their speed even more.

I believe http://msbnsports.net/ has pretty much all the state tourney games online.

Hermantown advances to the Class A Championship with the 4-2 win over New Prague.
-
Hermantown a period away from another Class A Title game appearance up 2-0 headed to the 3rd.
-
I thought I saw that he went undrafted so I'm not sure how that all works. I believe he did skate in a camp this summer with Sioux Falls and I know Eades has seen him play at least a few times.
-
Roseau gets a consolation win 5-3 over Centennial despite being outshot 48-31. Hermantown leads New Prague 1-0 after 1 in the first Class A Semi.
-
Zach Yon with a goal and 2 assists in Roseau's 5-3 consolation win over Centennial. Also was stopped on a penalty shot and hit a couple posts. His teammate Strand was impressive again and had 2 goals and 2 assists in the win.

Heard that when Duluth East was shut out last night 3-0 to Eagan it was the first time that they have been shutout since the 2012 season, that seems pretty impressive with the high quality schedule they play. Should be a pretty good day of hockey today. I think the AA games may be a little bit closer battles and we could see some overtimes in either or both of those semifinals. A 11am Hermantown vs. New Prague 1pm EGF vs. St.Cloud Cathedral AA 6pm Lakeville North vs. Eden Prairie 8pm Edina vs. Eagan
-
I mentioned him in the prospective recruits thread and I really like him too. He plays a lot of minutes for Eagan too and has good size and plays a smooth game. I'm not sure if we would really have room for him just looking at our future commitments but I do think he will end up being a good college player and am a little surprised he is still uncommitted.
-
That kid definitely wants that one back, he easily could have just pinned the puck against the boards and let the clock run out. Probably the kind of goal that should be expected in this kind of game though.
-
I'm interested to see how Edina will play against whoever wins this last game. I think East or Eagan may be able to cause Edina some problems with the physical play and maybe be able to slow them down a little bit but the key will be if they can do it without taking penalties because Edina's powerplay also looked very potent tonight.
-
Eagan is almost the exact template and colors just different logo, East at least has some different coloring.
-
I'll take the stronger goaltending and say Lakeville North will beat EP tomorrow night. Edina has certainly been the most impressive team to me so far and definitely should be the favorite right now. East and Eagan looks to be a battle between two great defensive teams. Very physical game through one scoreless and the few good chances that there have been have been handled well by the goaltenders.
-
Doubt we have room for him with him already being a senior but Nick Wolff for Eagan looks pretty good tonight and has some good size but could probably add some more muscle. Eagan's goalie Andrew Lindgren has looked solid too and is the brother of current SCSU goalie Charlie Lindgren.
-
Edina coasts to a 6-1 win. Duluth East and Eagan should be a pretty good finale to the quarterfinals, I would expect a pretty physical game coming up.
-
Edina up 4-0 after 1. Stillwater already seems resigned to the if we can't beat you we will beat you up theory. Edina student section with one of the better chants so far this tournament with the "Where's your boys team?" chant to Stillwater.
