Rocco played on that line for quite a bit last year and I still wouldn't have said he was NHL ready then.
-
He was the best offensive forward on our team at times but that isn't saying much this year. I think he needs to develop more consistency to his game before he will have a chance to play in the NHL. Look at a guy like Kristo who seemed to be much more ready to make the jump and he spent the whole year in the AHL it is real hard to believe Grimaldi wouldn't spend more time than that in the AHL with where he is at right now.
-
A little bit surprised to see him coming back for DU but I guess it is good for college hockey as a whole.
-
I very much disagree with this at his size to be NHL ready you pretty much have to dominate college hockey and he hasn't come close to that. If he wants the money and to go play in the AHL the next few years than he can do that but if he thinks he is gonna be playing in the NHL within the next year he needs to reevaluate. I had pretty high expectations for him coming in and so far he hasn't come close to the type of player I thought he would be.

I know her brother was on one of the football championship teams a few years ago.

Haha just the kind of thing you would expect from those guys.

Gothberg, Parks, and Schmaltz have all confirmed they will return to UND next season looks like we are just waiting on Grimaldi's decision. -
Jayson Hajdu @UNDSID 2m Can also now confirm that goalie Zane Gothberg will be back for his junior season. @UNDMHockey
-
I was most concerned with Schmaltz even though we have good D depth as I think he could really have a breakout year next season. Add in the fact that if he left there may have been a chance we could lose out on his brother too and that would be a far bigger loss than Grimaldi. I'm not sure if Grimaldi will leave or not but I don't think he should and hope he comes back and gets close to the expectations most had for him when he arrived.

Just saw on Twitter, copied the tweet from UNDSID on there now.

Schmaltz and Parks have confirmed they will return to UND. Jayson Hajdu @UNDSID 3m Sophomore defenseman Jordan Schmaltz and junior forward Michael Parks have both confirmed that they'll return to UND next year. @UNDMHockey

From what I've seen from him so far he has the long lanky kinda Brock Nelson like look but he doesn't have that pure goal scorer and really high end skill just yet. Not trying to compare him to Nelson but that is who he reminded me a little but more so in look and body type rather than the same skills.

Good breakdown the one thing I would be surprised with is if we only get 2 goals total from Olson and Simonson. I expect them to have a good chance to be in the lineup right away and while both aren't pure goal scorers they have scored they do have the ability to put the puck in the net. -
The Old Ralph was one of the better facilities early when it was being used. The new Ralph is a great facility but its not like UND is the only one who has something like that now as many college hockey programs have similar facilities. If you really think the Ralph is untouchable compared to other facilities you need to go take a look at some of the other ones, the Ralph is my favorite but that is because I'm a Sioux fan and truthfully there are many other facilities right up there with the Ralph.

No its all just speculation that he could.

Thoughts on if the Sioux would of beat Union?
SiouxScore replied to ZamboniJabroni's topic in Men's Hockey
Yeah I believe they lost 1 player and a backup goalie so they're definitely a team to watch for. -
Nice get and had a feeling we might be able to land him as I believe his sister committed to play volleyball at UND earlier this year. He was a Soph. at Grand Rapids this year and had 37 points this year, bigger forward at 6'3 right now.
-
Somehow I really doubt you of all posters would be the one to have insider info.
-
There's lots of things you can hear around campus and while some may end up true I'd bet 90% of the time those things just end up as bad rumors because people want something to talk about. If you heard it from a reliable source or something I'd be a little more worried but I just can't see it add in that it wouldn't be a real good decision from him if he were to sign and I feel pretty confident he will be out there for UND next fall.
-
No reason for them to rush him just because of a good first season. They have some good depth in the minors and I'm sure they're fine with the way he is developing at UND
-
I'd rather be in Mankato too and I'm sure there is a better chance of the program continuing to be successful there but that has to be a real weird situation for him to go back into especially with the administration.

Yeah real geniuses! I've never been on bisonville but I'm sure they break down all things ndsu club hockey over there and really go in depth. -

According to the NDSU trolls in the Brewster thread we should be asking Hak to give some money back because any rookie coach could do what he has done at UND. -
Yeah anyone can have a career record of 260-133-40 and make the NCAA tournament at UND every season because every coach before Hak has right? Maybe you should just stick to bison sports.

I know it is just a way too early poll but if the top 4 ended up in the frozen four how great would that be. Probably the 4 most storied programs in college hockey all in the same frozen four.
