Those of us who are a little older remember the old Winter Sports Building, the "old Ralph". It held 6067. I would guess that if UND had a new rink, it would have been that or more, probably around the 10K that the new mariucci was built to hold. Wouldn't have been as opulent, but it would have had an ice sheet and seats.

Also, I would assume that the Alerus could pick up many of the events that the Ralph gets.

This tantrum by REA and Engelstad group and resulting open record request has really opened up some eyes.

Like mentioned above. This is some gongshow stuff, getting really tired of it. Embarrassed is one word, ashamed is another.

In my opinion, Hodgson's reply is embarrassing. He talks about alienating a group of fans. What is he worried about!? Will that group stop going to games? They have an opportunity to be leaders in action, but like geaux_sioux noted above, it's pure chicken !@#$!

You beat me to it. Fact is, you see more and more Hawks gear around town and on campus as the months go by. Some will never move on, some are negative people regardless of the "issue". They have that right.

From UND's website: The idea for a live mascot rose out of discussions and community surveys from the UND Game Day Experience Committee, formed under the guidance of President Kennedy last summer to create a more vibrant sports environment for Fighting Hawks fans of all ages. North Dakota Athletics is moving to the Summit League this fall and is currently the only team in the league without a mascot.

This was mentioned earlier, but the "tank top" is a placeholder of sorts. It "can be changed for other attire", according to the document released.

I think all three options are fantastic. Great job by the design firm.

I remember seeing some academic marketing from Michigan State, talking about "Spartan Pride", and feeling jealous how UND could never use that sort of slogan.
