I don't think there is anyone coming out of this situation a winner. Just those who lose less than others and you can pick your metric on what that is. There are plenty of things to pick and choose from. Yes, Sweden has a signficantly lower death rate than the US. However they also have a significantly higher death rate than neighboring countries (who are very similar culturally). Their economy fared about the same. So were their choices better or worse? They have stated their were things they would have done differently and are currently in the process of taking some of those more restrictive steps. So again, definitely no winners.

Sweden continues to rethink and adjust their strategy, which has led to signficantly more deaths (15-20x) than neighboring (similar) countries. I also believe their numbers would show their economic impact was very similar to countries who originally had stricter measures. The bigger difference is that citizens there seem to actually try to comply with recommendations. https://www.businessinsider.com/sweden-shifts-away-no-lockdown-strategy-amid-growing-case-numbers-2020-10

But the only way it could be politicized negatively is if they weren't doing what they said or he knowingly went somewhere after testing positive. Would you agree that it is a pretty simple thing to properly address if they were telling the truth prior to his positive test?
-
They did and his doctor hid behind HIPAA despite releasing plenty of other more personal information. Regardless, Trump absolutely knows when his last test was before he tested positive and the refusal to release a simple piece of information, when they had previously continously released the exact information, speaks volume of how the situation was being handled in the White House. There are only two reasons they aren't releasing when his last negative test was before he tested postiive: 1)The weren't doing the daily testing protocols they claimed they were or 2)He tested positive before the debate and/or fundraiser and still went forward with the events.
-
Both are dodging questions. Trump still can't answer the simple question of when his last negative CoVid test was.

"We are at a level with jobs like we've never been before" I'm not putting all the blame for the record unemployment levels from a few months ago on Trump, but what a boneheaded thing to say. There is somewhere between 12 and 20 million people who would disagree with that statement (depending on which unemployment rate you want to look at).

Yikes, tough draw on the road games with ORU, SDSU and UNO. Also not a huge fan of bye week being the final weekend of the year but might work out depending on how/if the conference tournament is set up. Also, I imagine some feathers will be ruffled 70 miles to the south with them having to travel to Grand Forks.

Fair, it was a bit of hyperbole (mainly due to the content of what I responding to), but based on how he acts I honestly don't think it is that far off. Here's an example from yesterday of him complaining about disasters in Iowa getting coverage over his Nobel Peace Prize nomination:
-
And you are actually dumb enough to think Trump cares about anyone but himself? Everything he does is for the betterment of him personally. It's literally his modus operandi since, oh I don't know, forever. If it happens to benefit others, just an added bonus I guess. Both sides are delusional.

The impact/volatility will likely depend on how the Senate shakes out. If R's lose the WH but not the Senate, I wouldn't expect a large change. If the R's lose the WH and Senate, I could foresee some signfiicant negative volatility.

Fair, but the betting markets have Biden at -200 and Trump at +150. A bit of a wide holdback, but still intriguing nonetheless.

I'd venture that a decent amount of Biden winning is already priced in based on recent polls.

2020-21 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

But they aren't the ones calling the shots. Their hands are tied. On top of that, ask NDSU how selling tickets during a pandemic goes. Hint - Demand was a fraction of what they expected, and that was before they pulled the rug out from those who wanted to attend. Also, not sure if you've looked around the stands at college athletics in the state, but the average fan definitely falls into one of the high-risk categories whether it be age or "health". That being said, they should be able to be at 50% capacity without any issue assuming people are willing to have different seats for the season in exchange for fans being allowed in the building. Hopefully their plan is better than NDSU's "sit wherever you're comfortable" idea. -

There are hundreds of schools in the country in the exact same boat. Nothing you're saying is lost on anyone involved. -

There is currently multiple plans in place. They will get as many in as they are allowed too. Limited and/or lack of fans will not be on the REA or athletic department decision. -

Where did it say that? Article just stated no fans in the "hub". -
McConnell's end game has always been the courts. Why in the world would he consider dropping nomination for a SCOTUS judge?

Based on the state's new quarantine suggestions, it makes absolute sense to wear masks during practice. This way, if someone tests positive, the whole team won't be off the ice for 14 days (hypotetically). -
Considering he was adamant that is why the WAC was doing all this and the Dakoat schools were involved, I don't think he gets a whole lot of credit for being correct. Schools moving conferences is nothing new, the Big Sky was oversized and there isn't a whole lot of options in the west. On top of that, there was plenty of information out there about the WAC being interested in bringing back football at the FCS level. A bunch of "who's that again" moving around and playing at the FCS level is significantly different than a seismic shift of conferences trading Universities and moving up to FBS.

Hawaii? Or is there another island that is part of the US?

I'd say releasing a video on the official NDSU Football twitter account means they have an opinion. https://twitter.com/NDSUfootball/status/1312474752393584641

Does NDSU lose more money from not having fans at the game but still on the hook for a $100K guarantee or for backlash from boosters who apparently are incredibly unhappy with a political display? Looking like this one turned into a losing proposition.
-
He couldn't find an article to cut and paste to express "his" thoughts.
-
Oddly enough, NDSU made zero attempt to accomplish that when their stated plan was "sit in you regular season ticket seats or just move to empty ones if uncomfortable."
-
I would disagree very much with this statement and not just from the perspective that Danny was on the staff when McKinney was recruited.
