  1. Truth is a hard pill to swallow. The majority of the athletic department will be at King's Walk tomorrow almost all day looking to shake hands.
  2. You've tried to slide into my DM's. On multiple occasions. And so have your "buddies", though it appears they go back and delete some of the evidence after the fact. Edit: So since you downvoted this, which part of my statement was it that you don't agree with?
  3. Guessing the decision to go downtown delayed the decision for a few years.
  4. These are players they have seen in camp, competing against a lot of other players they have interest in, many who have offers from plenty of schools. The staff is trusting what they are seeing in person. Would be a much different story if these offers were based off highlight films only.
  5. If encouraging people who do nothing but complain to actually reach out, voice their opinions and actually do something to make a difference is considered complaining, then guilty. I, along with more than a few others, have offered to help set up meetings with whoever people want. I'm not anywhere near what would be considered a huge donor but have never had an issue having conversations with anyone within the Champions Club, Athletic Department, Alumni Foundation or even approaching the President to speak with him. Looking at the people who tend to agree with your opinions, I feel comfortable with where I stand. Bossman.
  6. Yes, I would suppose one could. But tough to believe some are doing that when they complain decision makers are inaccessible and then ignore multiple people offering to set up meetings to help show they aren't.
  7. I'd agree on their food, good quality and solid portions. Wasn't putting down their ribs, they are made exactly the way most people in the midwest grew up eating them myself included. Was just pointing out they aren't what you necessarily think of when you hear "ribs" these days with onset of BBQ joints/food trucks. Like I said, they were exactly as I remembered them from years ago and I was fine with that.
  8. https://www.inforum.com/sports/bison-media-zone/mens-sports/mcfeely-ndsu-sdsu-presidents-deny-report-they-are-seeking-spots-in-mountain-west NDSU and SDSU presidents both deny what O'Day said. Interesting that they would come out and flat deny they have had any conversations.
  9. Ribs are average at best but a pretty good deal for the price. Definitely not "BBQ restaurant" quality but more pressure cooked and fall off the bone with no effort if that's your preference. Had them a few weeks ago for the first time in probably a decade and were exactly as I remember.
  10. Didn't even have to guess who downvoted these posts before looking. It literally takes more effort to do be negative on the internet than actually have a conversation with a someone who makes actual decisions with UND, especially given the invites personally given out on this site. But it's easier to complain anonymously than try to make the changes that your think would things better.
  11. About double that. 2022 EADA report showed 341 in unduplicated participation numbers, however 7 of those were practice players. Each team will get an allocation of funds to give out as the coaches deem appropriate (assuming eligibility criteria per the guidelines is met).
  12. 120+ other failures annually based on this line of thinking. It is OK to understand that success can be measured in multiple ways. Its also OK to understand that you aren't going to meet everyone's (unrealistic) expectations every year. This is not "striving for" or "justifying" mediocrity. Doing that would be not setting goals and refusing to make any changes or reflecting/admitting where failure has occurred or changes can be made.
  13. This is not unique to UND. All teams have their strengths and weaknesses. The challenge is either preventing your weaknesses from being detrimental or having large enough strengths to mask it.
  14. C-USA is the only thing men) that's been mentioned that is even remotely realistic. And it would be a train wreck worth watching. AAC isn't even remotely an option. MWC would have to be a shell of itself and due to lack of what the bring to the table that is actually important (money and recruiting area) they still wouldn't be anywhere hear the top of the list. They should probably worry about getting their internal house in order first.
  15. And haven't had a problem making their budget since things were addressed 7 years ago. Unlike other institutions that continuously decided kicking the can down the road while watching their enrollment continue to decline was the right answer. Does that $5 million bailout actually do anything except bridge this budget cycles gap? Doesn't sound like there were a whole lot of tough decisions made that will fix things in the future....
  16. Not to mention the platform takes 18% off the top. Say NDSU reaches their monthly goal of $2,200. They lose $400 of that to the site and are now splitting $1800 between 111 guys, for a total of $16.25/month for each player. Now, part of this deal is the players are giving "access" to the fans who are contributing. How long does something like this last where players are putting in extra work for what equates to one fast food meal a month? I think there are much better ways for this to be accomplished.
  17. Great spot for those clamoring for NIL to direct funds to. For most, this is probably more palatable to make sure funds go to those who have earned it with their play (and in the classroom) versus paying someone who's never put on a jersey at UND. For others, probably won't matter. Either way, pretty forward thinking achievement for an athletic department that is supposedly lazy and doesn't want to do their jobs.
  18. So you'll complain constantly that the athletic department and Champions Club is unwilling to change or even listen and then completely dismiss when someone offers to personally set up a meeting with the person of your choosing, which gives you the opportunity you claim you want, actually talking to the people who are making decisions that you say are unwilling to have discussion with you. Just want to make sure that is clear for everyone so we know that your priority is to actually complain, not be a part of any sort of solution to improve things (which every single person can agree needs to be done to one degree or another).
  19. So who do you want a meeting with and when to tell them your ideas to improve things? Multiple people have offered to get it set up for you and you keep ignoring it.
  20. Not hard to notice this offer has been made by multiple people but unsurprisingly is continously ignored. Some people just can't be happy and want to complain.
  21. I feel like a similar message came out of Fargo in regards to transfers not that long ago. That tune has changed quickly. Like it or not (and I'm not a fan of what it has quickly turned into instead of what it was meant to be), it's also the current environment.
  22. You: REA/Engelstad Foundation doesn't help other sports!!! Someone else: Who do you think is backing summer school scholarships so student athletes can stay on campus, be with teammates and train properly to get better? You: LOUD NOISES
  23. What about the funds that pay for summer school for athletes, including football players? Those don't seem to be just for ice skaters. But again, why let reality get in the way of your senseless rambling.
  24. That wasn't even the point of where I was taking that. Scheduling is hard and home games cost money. Yet UND has 19 of them in the next 3 years. That doesn't happen by accident. I can assure you teams aren't lining up to play in Grand Forks, where UND is tough to beat, without some hard work being put in.
  25. Imagine not supporting a program but somehow managing to get 19 regular season home games over the next 3 years scheduled. Truly amazing.
