  1. Did I say they didn't? They have done a spectacular job at the FCS level.
  2. You're right, just hypotheticals. The only thing we can be sure of is that NDSU struggled to adapt and maintain previous level's of success when they didn't have a scholarship advantage over other schools in Division 2. Glad we cleared that up.
  3. So in your mind, 18 cut to 9 is equal to 45 cut to 36....?

What do you mean use it as intended? The rules are outlined and it is very beneficial for players who didn't use a redshirt and got hurt in one of their 4 years or for players who lost two or more years to injury.

I didn't see that he had taken a redshirt on SBCC. That makes a pretty big difference.
  6. Shot terribly, gave up the lead, still managed to come back and win. Another reminder that you aren't anywhere close to good enough to win without showing up. Should have enough of those by now but 2-1 in league play, get another one on Saturday.
  7. That was a long time coming. The parent company of Kay's (Signet) bought out Zales in 2014.
  8. Speaking of objectivity: Guessing you think Chapman was a rock star too? While UND has had some issues with past presidents (who have done plenty of good things along with well documented issues), I don't see UND supporters pretending that those bad thing didn't exist. Meanwhile down in Fargo anytime something negative comes up about NDSU:
  9. With owning two liquor stores currently and a new store planned where you'd assume they'd also want to put a liquor store, Hugo's will either have to close one of the existing ones or lobby to get the city ordinance changed. I can't see them sticking money into expanding the store on Columbia if they would end up closing it.
  10. I do think KMart makes more sense for a few reasons but like I said, somehow still open. I'm curious how long Macy's will sit vacant. Same with the old Scheel's spot, which is nowhere near as desirable but haven't heard of anything even being remotely interested in it.
  11. K-Mart would be a better spot but somehow they are still open. Devils Lake did a nice job repurposing their old Walmart. Would make a ton of sense to do something similar here.
  12. Put the library there.
  13. I think the bigger issue is that there were players who were suspended when it happened and the police reviewed it and no charges while filed. Then a few months later, even more players were suspended, with half of them being recommended for expulsion for something that they had already felt being addressed and people punished for. While not condoning or defending anything that took place, I can see where the confusion and anger comes from on the players part. I'm also not sure they were explained the difference between the burden of proof that the police and the Title IX offices work off of, because the difference is huge and without understanding that, it adds even more confusion why this came back out of seemingly nowhere. I don't know who knew what, how much of it they knew and when they knew it, but that obviously plays a part in it as well. While I truly believe most involved were acting with good intentions and likely less than the full amount of information that is now public, there isn't anyone that comes out of this looking good.
  14. I believe he made it sound like she was actually back at home trying to get better but not positive. For sure she wasn't with the team because he talked about the players staying in contact with her through various social media things and phone calls.
  15. Brew confirmed she was sick on UND Sports Extra last night but say much beyond that in regards of how long she'll be out, just hoping they get her back sooner than later.
  16. To be fair, UND technically did raise a Frozen Four banner when the REA was opened and it lists all the year's UND has made it. So I guess UNO is tied with UND in the number of Frozen Four banners raised, UND has just had to bring theirs down to add years to it a bunch of times.

    2017 Season

From my understanding of the rules, I would think Arnell has a better chance at getting an extra year since he never redshirted and didn't pass the 30% threshold of games played the year he got hurt. Clive will have a harder time since the injury he got in 2015 wasn't technically season ending and he's asking for a 6th year. However you never know with the NCAA, they have made some strange decisions in regards to granting extra eligibility.
  18. So you think they could have just "found" an additional $200K and it is just that easy?
  19. Bohl just signed a contract with a $6.5 million buyout, probably hurts him. UM AD was the one who hired Harsin from Boise State when he was AD there. Fleck is obviously the hot name. Not sure if Klieman has the track record yet he needs, but you never know.

    2017 Season

It seems the surgery he had after his freshman year really affected him and wondering if he was finally getting his leg back to full strength this season. Went from averaging 62.5 yards/kickoff and 15-50 on touchbacks his freshman year to 52 yards and 2-42 on touchbacks his sophomore year and 59.1 yards and 19-68 on touchbacks this year. Also this doesn't take into account with what he's being directed to do by the staff (short or directional kicks to avoid certain returners), but with how kick coverage was this year, you would have to assume that more touchbacks would have been the easiest solution.
  21. Congrats for completely missing the point. Just because you give your opinion, doesn't mean you are some sort of martyr and that "you are the bad guy and tell it like it is". You are doing just that and nothing more: giving your opinion. And in doing so, you should expect others to do the same and there is no need to get all worked up when someone doesn't agree with you. Different people have different perspectives and those opinions are often based on different information. I flat out stated, everyone should have their own opinions but there is a lot more to situations and when people refuse to consider those things, it makes their opinion carry a lot less weight with people because it gives the appearance of a pitchfork mob that has one goal in mind with no regards for anything else. Mussman's contract buyout didn't come during the middle of a enormous budget issues plus there were private funds that helped fund it. The situations are completely different and if you can't acknowledge that, than you are again ignoring the realities of real life that they people who are paid to make these decisions deal with. There is no comparison to budget issues from this past year to 3+ years ago. I'm not sure who your comment about expectations for the program is directed at but I don't believe anyone has said that is their expectation on an ongoing basis.
  22. The problem is you always seem to be the loudest voice and have continuously showed no regard for actual realities of the situation. You make a decision that a coach needs to go, start a thread (at least 3 different ones for 2 different coaches) and then seem to pop up almost every time that the team loses and say nothing when they are performing well. Yes, there are others, but as I've stated before, the squeakiest wheel gets the grease. The latter part of my statement is the part that probably bothers people the most. It is one thing to have an opinion that a coach needs to go or , its another to continue to rail on and on how a change needs to be made immediately when the financial and logistical realities of the situation don't allow for it and you seemingly absolutely refuse to acknowledge them. The perception is that it has almost become personal and you need the coach to be fired to be vindicated. While I highly doubt that is the case as I do believe you have the best interest of UND in mind with your criticism, there are a lot more factors and it is much more complicated than overall W-L records whether anyone likes it or not. Mistaking that for blindly supporting a coach is a line that fails to be grasped sometimes. The majority here want what is best for UND. Some posters on here have more knowledge of situations than you might think, which is something to consider when their opinions might not match yours. Take for example my comment about you refusing to acknowledge what ArtVandalay said being true about where Jones has finished in the conference the last 5 years and how it compares pretty well with almost any other team (along with me also acknowledging what you said was also true). Even after I specifically stated you did that, you still refused to acknowledge it. Before you try to go there, I'm not stating that he shouldn't be on the hot seat. My guess is that budget issues played into him still coaching here this year, the optics of having to buy out a coach's contract, regardless of size, while the rest of the University is cutting funds left and right aren't great. Him not having an extension would also make it pretty obvious he is coaching for his job, though I'm not sure where the bar has been set, but my guess is fairly high.
  23. Whether you agree what he said or not, he wasn't wrong in what he stated, just like you weren't in what you stated. If there was a clear cut answer to this one way or another, this wouldn't be debated. As it stands, Jones has done just enough to not lose his job but clearly not enough to warrant any sort of substantial raise or contract extension.
  24. If we're just speculating, I doubt he'd leave but it wouldn't hurt to see if Grey Giovanine finally has the itch to get back into D-1 basketball now that I believe his kids are out of high school. Would be an absolute home run hire but not sure if he'd be interested. Would guess Tom Billiter would also be an interesting candidate despite his history from 20 years ago. Not sure what either of them are currently making but guessing its pretty decent considering how long they've been at their current jobs.
  25. Positives: -Held them under 100 (and within 9 of their scoring average!) -No end of game issues and allowed them to successfully run out the clock. Progress!! Negatives: -Everything -No, literally everything
