Don't know anything about him and don't know where he came from, but I'm also suspecting that they must have a very good coach to parlay young, inexperienced talent into a competitive squad. And they've seemed to be very competitive ever since he took over.
-
I'm pleasantly shocked at how DL is staying with the big boys (e.g., GFC and RR), despite having four freshmen and an 8th grader on defense, a first-year goalie, and only one scoring line. 22 secs. away from pulling off a big one last night. Haven't seen any of their games, but I have a hunch that their first-year goalie is a gem and is keeping them competitive in every game. Hard to believe that they've given up more than 3 goals just once, despite playing the top teams.
-
You're right, and I think we potentially have the personnel inhouse for that piece of the puzzle.
-
I think you hit the bottomline nail on the head. With substantial improvement in our Oline, our offense will be hard to stop; we have too many weapons. Not sure our young hogs will provide that kind of improvement or not; may need to bring in at least one dropdown or JC.

Agree. A good second half gets them a fifth place seed and a winnable game against, undoubtedly, Grafton in the first round of the EDC.
-
Surprised that they played Central so tough after losing to West Fargo? Did you see the game? Their young defense and inexperienced goalie seem to be playing surprisingly well; they've only given up more than 3 goals twice all season.

Davies by 4 goals.

Win moves us up two spots in the pairwise to no. 6., jumping over Western and Minny.

Don't know anything about him, but a soph. LB just announced that he's leaving the Gophers and transferring. Not that we need LB's or anything..........
-
Looks like DL's young D-corp and inexperienced goalie are holding up pretty well so far. No scoring, though.

73-70 UND. Final. "Only" 9 TO's and 2 fouls in the 2nd half.
-
That would make sense.

Don't know anything about Sheyenne, but we should get a pretty good idea fairly quickly, as they play Red River next week. They've got a boatload of seniors, so maybe they'll be a surprise, though they shouldn't have much experience since they're a startup team. As far as I know, they didn't coop with West Fargo last year, and, even if they did, they would have roughly half of what was a weak West Fargo team from last season.
-
Would like to see them overachieve and finish no. 4 in order to get home ice in the first round of the EDC Tourn., but 5 or 6 may be more realistic. Depends on the development of their freshmen and sophs.
-
I saw that; 4 freshmen and an 8th grader on the blue line, plus a first -year goaltender. I guess the good news is that they only gave up one goal last night. Should bode well for the future, though. I think they've got some kids on their top line that can score.
-
DL only beat a West bottom feeder by a goal last night. Yikes!
-
Hope you're right about Devils Lake, but 4 of their 6 defensemen being freshmen (and one an 8th grader) is pretty scary. Fortunately, their first three games are nonconference. I could see them finishing as low as 6-8.

The Game Notes are imbedded in the game preview. Just click on it (Game Notes) and scroll down to the 2-deep toward the end.

Flowers not on the 2-deep or the injury list.

If he has matured, I think he can, too; but I think that's a big if. He's certainly had a great role model to learn what it means to be a leader the last two seasons.

Totally agree. Lots of new faces that I have no idea what or how much they'll bring to the table.
