You’re right. The IAC made coaches beg for their sports and then recommended the untenable position of keeping all 21 sports and increasing funding. At that point, Kennedy evaluated the situation and made the absolute correct call to eliminate WIH and its $2M annual loss. I give him immense credit for making the right decision that he knew would be unpopular. In my opinion, none of the current KEM drama has anything to do with WIH. At no point, has KEM or anyone associated with The Ralph argued for WIH. That speaks volumes. I don’t think Ralph ever imagined MIH having to share The Ralph when he conceived it. KEM loves to threaten UND with hypothetical donations that are likely to never materialize regardless of what the university does in the future. To my knowledge, no new donations have been initiated by the Engelstads since Ralph passed away.

UND averaged 1,009 paid attendance for their matches in that tournament compared to roughly 200 for WIH. That's a pretty substantial difference in paid attendance.

I agree that WIH deserved the ax based on total cost, but attendance was 35% higher (paid and unpaid) at Volleyball during the 2016 year. Volleyball - 17,433 (16 matches) - Avg. 1,090 http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/w_volleyball_RB/2017/Attend.pdf Women's Ice Hockey - 15,344 (19 games) - Avg. 807 http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/w_icehockey_rb/2018/attend.pdf

It looks like it was painted directly onto the windows on the east side of Hyslop.

I hope this post is appropriate. If not, Mods please delete. I have no financial interest or stake in this site, but it might be of interest to those on this thread. "Glory Days Garb" is a site dedicated to ND and Montana high schools that no longer exist. They also have a FB page with more examples of the clothes. https://www.glorydaysgarb.com/about?fbclid=IwAR1jkMJfiHd6SHc6wGY3cIsjnNi84tNUVYBOV_WYLGzkB3jcoqQq4s2LMPs

I’m too busy playing the Val Sussex drinking game. Take a drink every time she says “fun”. It’s unbearable. -
In all fairness, our defense is facing a 5th string freshman QB so this is understandable. Schmidt needs to go too. Scorched Earth!
-
I’m just not interested in watching this type of “football” anymore. It’s antiquated and it’s never going to get us where we want to be.
-
But after that, Bubba will make a move.
-
These announcers are making this almost watchable “Clearly incomplete. What are we thinking up here?”
-
I’m sure they will make adjustments before next week’s game.....oh wait.

UND Athletics, Hornbacher's introduce new relationship

There was still Hugo's signage by the scoreboards in the Alerus last week as well, which I found odd. I guess the buildings maintain separate agreements. -
Overall, I think the changes are a very good step in the right direction. The new tailgating setup was an improvement in my opinion. It felt like Tailgate Village had it's own distinct area compared to the past. That being said, there were not many people in that area. The high winds and Thursday night game could have had a big impact on the casual fans attending. One issue that will need to be addressed is that the students setup just to the west of the Tailgate Village in the single game tailgating section. As an alum, I love the energy and fun that that students have pre-game, but I don't think the season tailgaters will appreciate it on a weekly basis right next to their spots. Someone previously mentioned the ropes added to the concession stands to queue people. This made a big difference since people were not stretched across the concourse and customers were more efficiently served at the stands. I also like the use to Chelsae Dagger after the TD, but the time between the TD and XP is so short that I wish they would bring it back after the XP for an extended celebration leading into the kickoff. One negative is the use of music when we are on offense. Several times, we were at the line ready to snap the ball and music was still blasting through the speakers.

Here you go. The first looking west and the second taken toward University. Still a work in progess.

In the case of UND, I'm guessing they didn't offer a top bid. Probably figured it would just be business as usual and UND would stick with the local choice. For me, Hugo's lost it when they decided to sell Bison championship gear in the GF stores this year. I found this to be an absurd choice for a GF based chain and sent an email complaint. They never responded. -
That is an amazing assortment. Truly a spectacular lot to win! Crazy that they didn't sort these items a bit better. Looking at the WWE shirt, I think you have some really good signatures that I can see from the single picture. It looks like HHH, Kurt Angle, Sgt Slaughter, Teddy Long, Marianna. Those first three are certainly great signatures. That might also be a Shawn Michael's autograph to the right of HHH, but it's kind of hard to see. This link from the event might help you identify some other signatures. http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/August_16,_1999_Monday_Night_RAW_results
