  1. I’m too busy playing the Val Sussex drinking game. Take a drink every time she says “fun”. It’s unbearable.
  2. In all fairness, our defense is facing a 5th string freshman QB so this is understandable. Schmidt needs to go too. Scorched Earth!
  3. I’m just not interested in watching this type of “football” anymore. It’s antiquated and it’s never going to get us where we want to be.
  4. These announcers are making this almost watchable “Clearly incomplete. What are we thinking up here?”
  5. I’m sure they will make adjustments before next week’s game.....oh wait.
  6. Truer words have never been posted.
  7. There was still Hugo's signage by the scoreboards in the Alerus last week as well, which I found odd. I guess the buildings maintain separate agreements.
  8. Overall, I think the changes are a very good step in the right direction. The new tailgating setup was an improvement in my opinion. It felt like Tailgate Village had it's own distinct area compared to the past. That being said, there were not many people in that area. The high winds and Thursday night game could have had a big impact on the casual fans attending. One issue that will need to be addressed is that the students setup just to the west of the Tailgate Village in the single game tailgating section. As an alum, I love the energy and fun that that students have pre-game, but I don't think the season tailgaters will appreciate it on a weekly basis right next to their spots. Someone previously mentioned the ropes added to the concession stands to queue people. This made a big difference since people were not stretched across the concourse and customers were more efficiently served at the stands. I also like the use to Chelsae Dagger after the TD, but the time between the TD and XP is so short that I wish they would bring it back after the XP for an extended celebration leading into the kickoff. One negative is the use of music when we are on offense. Several times, we were at the line ready to snap the ball and music was still blasting through the speakers.
  9. Here are a couple shots of the area where Chandler was located. Certainly opened the space up.
  10. Here you go. The first looking west and the second taken toward University. Still a work in progess.
  11. In the case of UND, I'm guessing they didn't offer a top bid. Probably figured it would just be business as usual and UND would stick with the local choice. For me, Hugo's lost it when they decided to sell Bison championship gear in the GF stores this year. I found this to be an absurd choice for a GF based chain and sent an email complaint. They never responded.
  12. That is an amazing assortment. Truly a spectacular lot to win! Crazy that they didn't sort these items a bit better. Looking at the WWE shirt, I think you have some really good signatures that I can see from the single picture. It looks like HHH, Kurt Angle, Sgt Slaughter, Teddy Long, Marianna. Those first three are certainly great signatures. That might also be a Shawn Michael's autograph to the right of HHH, but it's kind of hard to see. This link from the event might help you identify some other signatures. http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/August_16,_1999_Monday_Night_RAW_results
  13. http://www.inforum.com/news/crime-and-courts/4460438-patterson-pleads-lesser-charges-fatal-fight-outside-downtown-fargo-bar I was hoping you were wrong, but an 18 month recommendation seems way too lenient.
  14. http://www.inforum.com/news/crime-and-courts/4460070-darren-patterson-change-plea-fatal-bar-fight-case Change of plea in the case
  15. I would think that NDUS could certainly counter for attorney fees, which could get high if this goes to court. I'm wondering if non-students even have standing to bring the case and maybe that's why NDUS was targeted. Seems like this case will be tossed by a judge before it goes very far.
  16. Hayduke, I appreciate your passion for hockey and willingness to play devil's advocate for the sake of discussion, but this answer has been stated several times. I'm sure we could have a good-natured debate about some of these and which apply to football, but here is the list as I see it. 1. Nearly $2 Million deficit per year 2. High cost per athlete ($80,000 per year/per athlete) 3. Extremely low attendance 4. Minimal public interest 5. Minimal Champion's Club related donations 6. Minimal merchandise revenue 7. Minimal TV exposure 8. Average on-ice results (Poor championship level results) 9. Limited local recruits 10. Low future growth potential
  17. IMO this is the most short-sighted part of filing this lawsuit. The only way that women's hockey is returning to UND is if UND decided to reinstate it. As has been mentioned several times, Title IX does not require that specific sports be offered. So in the event that NDUS (UND) lost the case, which they won't since they are Title IX compliant, there is no mechanism for a court to require that women's hockey be reinstated. If a school is found to be non-compliant with Title IX, they can just make adjustments to funding and resources of current sports. If any lawyers on the board see it differently, I would be very interested in your opinions.
  18. Based on what evidence? That Kennedy wants to revisit an agreement that is signed annually and potentially make it more beneficial to UND? What evidence do we have that McGarry is willing to move forward in good faith? We know she has lied regarding Kennedy's unwillingness to meet. BTW, I agree with you that McGarry is trying to get that message across. I just question her credibility.
  19. Fair Point. It's hard to believe that a compromise can't be reached in these negotiations.
  20. I don't think we have seen a quote from Kennedy saying anything along those lines. He doesn't seem to want to negotiate this publicly. The only references to Kennedy's unwillingness to work with McGarry have come from her. Based on the fact that she has already been caught in outright lies, I'm not sure she is the best source for what is actually happening behind closed doors. Like you, I hope this can be worked out. That being said, Kennedy needs to proceed in the best interests of UND.
  21. Or maybe UND could just select the floor design it prefers for The Betty and get a little better distribution of revenue generated from REA? Either or I guess.
  22. I'm going to assume something and I know that can be dangerous. My guess is that the University of Denver has chosen to use "Denver" rather than their logo of their own volition rather than having that choice dictated to them by the management of an arena.
  23. I was never the biggest Red Pepper fan, but I decided to take my business elsewhere when I saw a Red Pepper billboard in Fargo that said "Go Bison". That was a bridge too far for me.
