  1. Those words are actually in the Canadian National Anthem as opposed to "Sioux". In the end, each of us gets to decide what is respectful or disrespectful and I appreciate everyone's take on the issue.
  2. bigskyvikes, I think you make some interesting points, although I would argue that just because the Chiefs and Blues fans do it doesn't make it right. I find yelling anything during the National Anthem to be disrespectful. I also find it disrespectful to kneel in protest, talk, fail to remove your hat, take selfies, eat, etc during the anthem. As Americans, the great thing is that we do have the right to do all these things and are not required to act respectfully. My problem is the hypocrisy. I'm only guessing, but I would think that the vast majority of those yelling "Sioux" at the end of the anthem, would be vehemently opposed to NFL players kneeling. If it's ok for fans to take the anthem as their own to "intimidate" players on an opposing team, then it is certainly ok to kneel during the anthem to express your political or social beliefs.
  3. 10-10
  4. 9-9
  5. Pluto is working fine on smart phone or laptop if you can use those.
  6. FYP - That would have required facts that do not support his position.
  7. Interesting how the same article is portrayed differently in two papers owned by the same company GF Herald - "Office of Civil Rights opening investigation into UND's Title IX compliance" http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4254943-office-civil-rights-opening-investigation-unds-title-ix-compliance Fargo Forum - "Amid cuts, UND's Title IX compliance in question" http://www.inforum.com/sports/4254954-amid-cuts-unds-title-ix-compliance-question
  8. It's the first section listed.
  9. http://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/article/2017-04-18/2019-2022-future-di-ncaa-championship-sites Here is the NCAA release - No DI Men's or Women's BB for Sioux Falls
  10. LMAO She is a complete fraud. No alternatives, facts, answers and she can't even deal with reasonable challenges to her posts.
  11. http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-friday-cable-originals-network-finals-4-7-2017.html Here are the cable ratings for the top 150 shows on 4/7/2017. The gold medal game is not on the list, so we don't know the exact numbers, but you can infer the answer is "not very good."
  12. In my opinion, soccer isn't even close. The Women's World Cup Championship in 2015 averaged 25.4 million viewers, making it the most viewed soccer match (men's or women's) in US history.
  13. Based on the quality of the writing, I think it's quite likely that he types using the "Claw".
  14. This wins "Most Absurd Comparison of All-Time Regarding UND Sports", but in the end, it doesn't matter. It's a non-researched, throw away line on an afternoon panel show.
  15. It would be nice if the Herald actually linked back to their own story on UND admin cuts in the story about the banners, but I'm probably expecting too much of their reporters. Instead, they cite the 1,300 people that signed a change.org petition.
  16. Complete lack of understanding and empathy for anyone, but themselves. Over the last two years, many good people at UND (Admin, Staff and Faculty) have lost their jobs. Their Jobs! Advocating for more firings to save sports losing a combined $2M-$3M annually is completely out of touch with reality. BTW - The Herald's staff were on the scene with video and it looks like guys hanging the banners so I am not attributing this to any specific team on campus.
  17. Yes that's correct, but don't let facts get in the way.
  18. Such a lazy refrain.
  19. I agree that it would be interesting to see the financials of all sports. Port got this from a "legislator in Bismarck". Unfortunately, it seems that this info is hard to find otherwise.
  20. I agree. That's information I would expect to be covered by the local reporter assigned to the sport.
  21. Those are surprising numbers. Likely aided by the broadcast being on free (CBS) tv.
  22. Say Anything has the 2016 financials for WH. At the bottom of the "article". http://www.sayanythingblog.com/entry/unds-womens-hockey-program-lost-1-9-million-2016/
  23. Glad BF mentioned the numbers again. Did anyone else get the impression that Heitkamp had no clue that WH played in the Ralph? He kept asking what UND was going to do with that "beautiful" WH facility.
  24. Not if you are only interested in competing for National Championships.
