  1. I don't think it has anything to do with our recruits or current players rights they have. Two of the three have told Portland where to shove it. And with recruits, it's not like if they got one, they'd get the other, because a lot of the time recruits don't know each other until they get to campus. It's a matter of confidence in their persuasion tactics.
  2. Think about it. How many kids has Portland brainwashed... I mean persuaded, to sign with them? Crookston's Bittner, Keegan Iverson from Breck, Schoenborn from Minot, etc. They hold the rights to Grimaldi, Tambellini, Voltin for us. They also have AJ Michaelson and Travis Boyd'S rights from Minnesota. They feel confident about poaching players or in Jones case, persuading them. And based on recent events, they should feel confident.
  3. Doubtful that he'll even be here so no.
  4. He was a mid season add last year. Apparently a really good football player also. So he has opportunities there too. But hockey's his first choice.
  5. I don't care if they're small. I care if they show up on campus...
  6. that's not just a college problem.... that's a life problem haha
  7. Well, the ones that do know how to tweet Rocco and tell him to turn pro...
  8. I'm bumping this thread up in the hopes that others will see this and start posting in the proper thread. Sorry. It's been bugging me.
  9. I'm just going to chime in and say that I think there are some things you should just not tweet at committed or prospective recruits. I've seen some tweets on twitter and all I think is, "why would you tweet that at (fill in blank)?" Though, I also don't think people should tweet current players and call them names either. Another case of inappropriate tweeting. But I digress. Just my thoughts.
  10. Osieki was the reason he committed to Wisco. Because he's known as a great defensive coach. It really doesn't happen that often...
  11. Why would defensemen care? Eades isn't a defensive coach. He played forward for UND. He coaches the powerplay...
  12. I don't get all that nervous about guys who won't be here until 2014.
  13. But they tried to get Stepan and McDonaugh to do the same. And... McDonaugh was actually not a draft pick of the Rangers. He was drafted by the Habs.
  14. It's the tradeoff. You play more games in the CHL, but it's against younger kids. College you play less games against older guys. I guess it depends what you're looking for.
  15. It's been discussed at length in the "Prospective Recruits" thread.
  16. One father of a kid in the WHL called in to Beyond the Pond and talked about his sons choice and he said his son would develop better there, but gave no reasons as to why. Very evasive guy. Just kept repeating what he had already said. Parents definitely drink a bit of koolaid as well. I don't oppose the CHL as a means, just the shady tactics used. I'm definitely against young kids signing on at 15/16 though. Why rush into a decision that has that much impact on your future? Jason Gregoire is an example. He didn't sign because his dad told him to wait. I'm sure he is glad he waited after figuring out all the options
  17. Sorry, but NCAA hockey > CIS hockey. I've heard horror stories about CHL teams backing out on the education package too. It's a big gamble at 15/16 if you ask me.
  18. Yes, they do. So he's not getting out of that until he graduates.
  19. One word: Brainwashed.
  20. I believe it would be him or Tambellini. Not sure on a preference. Caggiula is older, but Tambellini plays in a better league. Though the only reason Caggiula left Des Moines (USHL) was because he was homesick.
  21. Nick is 19, Brock is 20. Minor correction.
  22. I'm not sure where you heard that because I have never heard a single thing about that from ANYONE.
  23. You seem to be in the know sir....
  24. And... he loves the Red Pepper! I'm telling you. That place is a vastly underrated recruiting tool.
  25. Mariucci doesn't let you sit though. I have never sat in an actual seat at that arena. Stupid standing room only....
