That is the dumbest decision I have seen in a long time. Throwing into 5 man coverage would be a terrible decision even if you had an accurate QB.

How about we also add the option to go without a nickname. If anyone gets 50%+ then we go with that option. Otherwise we have a runoff between the top two.

How long will it take to move on ? A very, very, very long time. I believed from the beginning of this process that the North Dakota option never stood a chance of being on the ballot. No chance that Kelley would allow it. None. Even though he said early on it was an option he had no intention of allowing it. He just didn't have the guts to say it and wanted the committee to take the heat. If by some chance the committee had put it through he would have vetoed it at some point. No use taking the heat if there is a chance you can pass the buck. Great leader. There was never any chance that we would go without a nickname no matter what the public wanted. Kelley never wanted to keep the Fighting Sioux nickname but did not have the courage to say it. Pass the buck, find someone else to take the heat (tribes, conference commissioners). No courage or leadership on this issue. With that option off the table now, will Kelley commit to going with the nickname that gets the most votes ? Absolutely no reason now for him not to unless he already has a nickname that he wants to use.

UND was forced to give up the Fighting Sioux nickname because Standing Rock would not allow the tribe to vote on the issue. Most intelligent people believed that a vote by the tribal members would have been in favor of keeping the name. In today's society the majority no longer matter. What do they know ? The fact that a small minority can dictate what happens just rubs a lot of people the wrong way. A similar thing is now happening in deciding what to do about a new nickname. Arguably a majority of UND fans would like to continue without a nickname but a small group thinks it knows what is best for all and will not allow that option to be put to a vote. What are they afraid of ? The same thing that Standing Rock was afraid would happen, that the vote would not go the way they wanted.

From the start there has been zero chance that North Dakota would make the final three choices. The role of the committee has been to submit three choices that are acceptable to Kelley and the PC. It would not matter if a poll showed that 90 % wanted no nickname, in fact that would further guarantee it would not make the final three. I believe the no nickname option is favored by enough people that it should be in the final three. It won't though because they could no longer control the outcome and they will not take that risk. If you are really trying to come up with a nickname solution that UND alumni and fans can support then certainly the no nickname option has to be on the ballot. Otherwise Kelley should just tell us what he has decided and quit wasting everyone's time and money (here comes your University of North Dakota Sundogs...barf).

My proposal for deciding the nickname issue: 1. Let the committee come up with 3 or 4 nicknames. 2. Vote and select a proposed new nickname. 3. Have a final vote between the proposed new nickname or no nickname.

I think the Sioux will need to score at least 3 and probably 4 goals to win so I'm going with 4-3 for the Sioux. In the first game I'll take Blais and the divers 2-1.

Each team in the frozen four gets 600 tickets (400 lower level, 200 upper). If a team does not use all their tickets then the remaining tickets can be made available to other schools on an equal basis. I am sure all four teams used their allotment, therefore there is no other way for UND to obtain more tickets.

My choice is no nickname. If you want to go without a new nickname please be sure to submit that as your preference.

Jones needs to go he has no clue how to coach. Among other things his teams are selfish and cannot rebound (and have no idea how to box out). This is not a one year issue, it has been an ongoing issue every year with many, many players. This game was tied with 1:05 to go and UND had the ball. Proper game management would not have allowed Sac State to have the last possession going for the win. UND used up almost the entire shot clock to get off a poor percentage attempt (by a player who is out of control too often). Until he is replaced UND has no chance of being anything more than a .500 team.

The pairwise on SiouxSports does not match USCHO or collegehockeynews. The biggest difference is with Harvard which is ninth on SiouxSports and sixth on the other two sites. The problem appears to be with the RPI calculation (.5929 vs .6031). The other two sites are excluding some games from the calculation while SiouxSports is not. There are also some minor differences in RPI (e.g. Minnesota: .6004 vs .6007, UNO: .6152 vs .6143, etc.)

If they hold 500 tickets for each school that makes the regional then they would have to hold back 2000 tickets since there is no assurance that UND will be one of the four teams. If UND makes the regional then I assume there would be an additional 500 tickets for sale (if 500 is the hold for each school) plus any tickets that other schools return.

Wow...that is some of the worst clock management I have ever seen, basically gave PSU 3 points. PSU had three timeouts and was trying to let UND run out the clock even when UND had the ball back at their own 10. The UND coaching staff was having the team rush to the line of scrimmage. What did they think they were going to accomplish ? Has the coaching staff watched the offense at all this season ? They should have been grateful that PSU was dumb enough to not call a timeout and just take their time and let the clock run out. PSU finally woke up and decided if UND was really that stupid they might as well take advantage and call a timeout. I have lost all confidence in this coaching staff. If that is their typical intelligence level we might as well start over again next year.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that banner. If Kelley thinks that is a problem then it is definitely time for him to take a hike. Lost the remaining 2% of respect for him. How long till he decides that nobody will be allowed to go to any event wearing a Sioux logo ? Wow.
