2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I think if the Sens miss the playoffs, Tyler will make his NHL debut this season. -
Wow. After the dominating Ozone time of possession the last couple games by 9-22-17 that’s the one line I thought for sure wouldn’t be touched. Matteo hanging out with Brent Johnson or what?

I seem to be in the minority as most mention the need of a portal goalie next year and I don’t see why we can’t bring in a good freshman tendy. There are a lot of good junior goalies out there playing a position with the least amount of future job opportunities open. A lot of Good goalies won’t have a place to play after juniors. UND’s current goalie situation and pipeline is definitely a head scratcher. Top 5 blue blood hockey program and we don’t have the most important position on the ice taken care of. Imagine Alabama football not having a future 5 star QB recruit in the pipeline. Crazy.

I hope not! That would mean some really bad times ahead. I’m hoping for him retiring on his terms with 6 more National Titles hanging in the rafters.

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I’ve seen it differently. To me, Coach has been more aggressive on the forecheck in order to keep possession in the O zone. Thus taking pressure off the D defending in the N and D zones.. A best Defense is more offense mentality. Both the Defenseman and goaltender have seemed a lot better recently due to this system. The success has come from dominating time of possession and taking pressure off the weak parts of the team. Give Berry some credit on making the adjustments to the strength of the team. -
Heck yeah. Less advertising on the PA, scoreboard and logos on the ice. Use those resources towards NIL instead. That would be two benefits. Recruiting and the atmosphere at the games would be better with less “commercials “.

Just committed to CC

I’d like them to go larger in net. We all want potential first round forward and defenseman recruits so can they recruit goalies that are at least big enough to even get scouted in the nhl…

2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

1995-2001 is my sweet spot. I was 12-18 years old. My best friend and I would sit on the glass with three cups of Dipn Dots. 2 for us to eat and a third cup on the dasher waiting for Pivets, Vig or Commie to destroy someone in front of us and send those little ice cream balls everywhere lol. Good times. Man what I would give to go back and take in a game night at the old Ralph. -
And he plays harder than about everyone . 100% all the time.

I’m sure glad he’s Geoff Sanderson’s kid! -

I think he would for sure. Look at the points he put up last year. Impressive rookie season . -
That’s too bad. I’m assuming he’s transferring and wants to save a year of eligibility via under x amount of games played? He really payed with confidence to start the season. That first series he was skating with the puck like Jake Sanderson. Weird situation there. This is why I’m not a fan of the portal. It’s ok for most players to develop throughout college. Rarely do players like Blake or Boeser just step in and rip it up.
-
No it’s not. I can totally see how that sounded though lol. I guess what I’m trying to say is our fifth year guys aren’t playing because they’re fifth year guys. They play because they are easily in the top 12 forward group on this team. So why wouldn’t they play? You’d just scratch two of the best players on the team? The two guys mentioned are not “healthy scratch” players so to do that to them now would be absurd to me at this point. Again, referring to the “rest of the season” comment. In my mind, no player is too good to not be punished or scratched for a game.
-
You’re right. I don’t disagree with mentioned players getting a night or weekend off. I disagreed with a previous comment that they should be in a suit the rest of the season.
-
I can’t disagree with that.
-
I should clarify that I’m referring to 5th year Sioux, not portal transfers. I would like to see #6 in the rest of the way.
-
So on the contrary you want the fifth year guys who have gave their blood sweat and tears to this program for half a decade to sit in the stands and watch the potential last game of their college and perhaps hockey career? Yeah that’ll help recruiting and “culture “. These guys paid their dues and deserve to play every possible minute before it’s over.
-
I hope this isn’t the case. I would like to see 6 stick around and be a top four Defenseman the next two years. I personally think he should be getting ice this year as well.

Jandric

That would work except the Ralph quiets the crowd almost instantly with advertisements. No ads would change the atmosphere in a positive way drastically.
-
It certainly has influenced my opinion. I think we all loved Karl the goalie. Fighting Sioux legend. But to the ones who advocate for him to be the next head coach at UND, I would question his ability to recruit and identify talent. If he can’t sign the right goalies, how would he do with the forward and defenseman positions?

Having lunch thoughts while scrolling ss. If I got to pick the lines for Friday .. shake it up but methodically 9, 8, 10 22, 27, 17 18, 19, 21 20, 11, 26 es = 28 25, 7 2, 15 6, 3 34 32 1 scratched: 4,5,13,24,29 what do think?
-
Correct. Like a goalie doing a commercial for Rydell’s saying “Save Big on your next car at Rydells” maybe Rydell can use the $ from one of the 12 different advertisements at the Ralph and pay a player/recruit for marketing instead. There’s already too many logos on the ice anyway..
