Good choice, I would bet you will be right on part B too.
  2. I would have no interest seeing Penn State play until they were actually competitive, the first few years will probably be brutal.
  3. Jim addressed that a few weeks ago somewhere, said he's going to overhaul the site this summer when he has more time and try to put on real-time standings for basketball too. EDIT: It's under "Front Page Layout" in the Administrative SiouxSports.com forums.
  4. I guess it does have that "man bites dog" appeal to it.
  5. Yeah that's probably a good point, unless you can walk-up and buy a ticket for a game or two nobody would go.
  6. Hard to believe that story has been picked up by so many news outlets...I guess it is that crappy time between the Super Bowl and March Madness/MLB starting and sports news is a little weak right now.
  7. Pretty quiet, he tweeted something about 'texting college coaches is awkward' yesterday but no mention of UND anywhere.
  8. Would have been nice to replace either Vermont, St. Lawrence, or N. Michigan with a big name, and it hurts a little not having Denver the first year after losing the B1G schools, but...new conference, new schools, new rivalries... let's enjoy seeing some new faces this year.
  9. Yeah if it was in Alaska and they lost early it would be a wreck, the thought of the crowd during our games in Anchorage keeps coming to mind.
  10. I agree, they have a plan and hopefully it works out for them, if not they can look at options. One thing that crossed my mind is if they could schedule their tourney (in St. Paul) in conjunction with the NCHC tourney it could be a plus for both tournaments, say have their semifinals earlier Saturday and play their Championship on Sunday, then the fanbases could bounce back and forth between the tournaments rather than playing at competing times, or playing their tournament a week earlier so the casual fan can take in some of both tournaments rather than having to choose certain games. Just a thought.
  11. I thought about that too, and the attendance would probably be good, but you risk having it at one of the Alaska schools which would leave most fans at home.
  12. Sounds like it was a good one, would have sucked to lose another close one, now hope for some help from other teams to stay in 3rd.
  13. Yeah, we're going to have to move your desk.
  14. Possibly, unless someone sniffed it out when he was suspiciously missing the next two games. To me it probably should have been handled differently, but I understand why they went public. Either way it's a done deal, need to move on and win some games on the court.
  15. In fairness though, if they would not have announced the punishment publicly, certain schools who shall remain nameless would point to it as "another UND cover-up job not reported by them or the Herald". Not agreeing on the punishment, just saying.
  16. The first WCHA tourney will probably be a measuring stick for where they end up down the road, nothing looks worse than a big venue with no fans, the X is going to look as bare as our games in Alaska.
  17. If it's ever going to happen this would be the year with 5 teams safely in right now, but that could change by the time the dust settles.
  18. I like that bracket but they won't allow a WCHA team in every bracket and have the chance of an all-WCHA Frozen 4.
  19. I'm sure Ralston has already talked to Jones about this informally and hopefuly it won't affect their relationship down the road and they put it behind them. Probably not the best choice of words for Ralston, but it's obvious he cares about the success of the program and that's what you want from your people. As for the 2 games...seems a little harsh but whatever.
  20. My Dad told me when they shipped out of NY for the military during WW2 easterners asked him if they still had to fight Indians occasionally...of course he said yes.
