  1. Wouldn't it be better to have a stadium full of people for the game rather then a good Gopher crowd and like 50 OSU fans? There's nothing worse than a half-ass crowd on national TV. Just saying.

    Fire Muss

There's a lot of people like me who show up for the hockey/football weekends because you get a lot of bang for your buck, I bet the crowd will be pretty decent.
  3. Why wouldn't they set it up near the tailgating? Or anywhere close to the stadium for that matter? Seems like it will dull the atmosphere a little to me.
  4. I know, with UND being my secondary football team I was pretty disappointed with their effort too, I knew they would have problems stopping the run and figured that the freshmen QB would make a big mistake or two somewhere along the way, but I didn't think they would let guys get behind them all day like they did, just really horrible coverage the whole first half. Montana is better, but it shouldn't have been like that, hopefully two weeks with that loss eating on them will light a fire under these guys for the Cats.
  5. I'm not going to jump into this argument full bore because it's already history, but if you would have followed the case at all there was little doubt of the outcome. Some of the things that came out during the investigation and at the trial were bizarre, following the tweets of the journalists in the courtroom it was over after the prosecution presented the case, the testimony of her friends along with her own told the story and it wasn't the one she originally told.
  6. That right there tells you how much confidence they have in Ponder. But then again, playing "not to lose" has become a Viking 4th quarter staple.
  7. ...or winnable...that's the beauty of it...a fresh stab in the heart every 4th quarter. If losing close games builds character I have a bunch following this team my whole life.
  8. If the Vikes aren't ahead by at least 17 going into the 4th I know we're in trouble...that's Vikings football.
  9. I'm not arguing who is better, I just find it funny that they are so insecure that they have to come here and bash Montana after this game which had absolutely nothing to do with their team or conference, and then accuse others of not having any class.
  10. It's funny how the NDSU guys head right to this board to search for someone to bash in a game that is none of their concern. Hilarious.
  11. That's the third guy they've let get behind them, not good
  12. UND with a nice drive to score, Montana hits a bomb but misses the XP, 7-6 UND

    Week 2 Scores

Looks like somebody has fired up a new "We could play with Bama" thread on Bisonville and some actually think they have would have a good chance, maybe that game really does need to happen to bring a gigantic reality check to some people. I bet the sane Bison fans cringe when they see those posts.
  14. Not going to make it, all the people I normally go with are busy so it looks like it's home on the big screen this time. BTW, a Griz marrying a Bobcat...sounds wrong somehow.
  15. That's strange the Gamebook is right off the Griz website, I wonder why they changed it, maybe considered them QB runs later or something, doesn't matter I guess.
  16. Montana had 2 sacks and 6 TFL against App. State, nice work NCAA. http://grfx.cstv.com...20130827aaa.pdf
  17. I agree, the novelty was cute when it started but like everything else they've gone overboard. They'll probably keep scheduling more of these things until a couple guys tear up knees because of bad ice, if and when that ever happens.
  18. Montana went through this last year without Johnson, I don't think you can totally blame the coaching staff for playing musical quarterbacks, it's more a case of the QB's failing (maybe a little harsh) to step up and win the job. Mussman and crew would be ecstatic if one of these two would be able to come in and lead the team and be "the guy", but until that happens the leash might be one half of poor play before the other guy gets a chance. If you're lucky it will only take a week or 2, if you're not...like Montana last year...it might never totally happen. Hopefully Mollberg will now step up and be able to prove himself as the starter. Also both guys being freshman doesn't really help, usually you have at least one candidate who gets some snaps the year before due to injury or at the end of blowout games, obviously that didn't happen. It will sort itself out, bad thing is with UND's frontloaded schedule they need one of them to take over pretty quickly.
  19. Montana opens at -8 according to 5dimes.
  20. How about this one: "Is SDSU's QB better than NDSU's linebackers, and if so how is his criminal record?" That should cover quite a few current topics in one thread. Here's another one: "If the B1G conferences are so great why is Minnesota ducking UND in hockey and NDSU in football, and should the North Dakota schools be advertising that on ESPN?" That would cause some hate and discontent too. Hey I'm Rob Port!
  21. Surprisingly he looked like his old self, was something like 13-14 in the first half with the only incompletion a hail mary at halftime. You're right about not wanting to get into a track meet, they would rather feed the two RB's and throw an occasional pass to keep UND honest, do not want to get into a shootout again unless necessary. Should be interesting.
  22. Our pass D is still suspect, there were times when App State had guys open in the middle of the field but their QB was running for his life and couldn't hit them. I think that will make some of the difference this year, we have 10 starters returning on defense and they're healthy, should be able to put more pressure on the QB and force quicker throws. Had a lot of pressure on the App St QB and this week the big boy Takai will be back so that will help too. But the biggest thing for our defense will be the Johnson-led offense actually taking some time off the clock, last year the defense lived on the field and were gassed by the 3rd quarter most games. But after last year and being this early in the season, pass defense is still the number one question mark for Montana, and UND will be as big a test as anybody to see where it's at.
