  1. While this would be one helluva scoring line, I'd like to see it split up a bit. To me it seems like we'd be putting all of our eggs in one basket so to speak. I think by splitting Bochenski away from the first line, that would give us two very capable scoring lines. (or at least something to keep the opponents' checking lines very busy and tired) And keep $$$ & Quinn on the same line. They complemented each other nicely last season while they were together. 1) Parise Murray Prpich (Stafford?) 2) Bochenski Lundbohm Fylling (Stafford?) 3) Hale McMahon Massen (Stafford?) 4) Who came ready to play?

    Shutouts

I can't speak for 'diggler', but I consider it a shutout too. Certainly, the choice to take the safety was the correct one. But since the 2 points were given away, I call it somewhere in the lines of a "moral victory." Is there such a thing as a "moral shutout?"
  3. Absolutely. Any offense that UMC registered seemed like it was through the air. And wow... were there people open all over the place. A little talent in the arm & hands department would have made us look silly. LOTS of room for improvement, IMO.
  4. Has anyone heard if Jeff Glas has the kicker position locked up? There was talk earlier that he might not have it, or would be splitting time...
  5. I voted Ziggy for that reason too.
  6. Yep... that's the game!
  7. Maybe it's not "happiness", but the crowd singing the national anthem after Ralph died was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen or heard. The feeling was undescribable, and certainly unforgettable. For those who weren't there, I'm sorry I can't put the feeling in the arena that night into words. It will without question always be one of my best memories of Sioux hockey.
  8. So it is correct that for a women's basketball championship, we would have to compete against the likes of U-Conn, Tennessee, and so on? That certainly would change recruiting practices around here. I think it'd be a shame to not have our local talent playing for the Bison or Sioux.
  9. I have been following NDSU's search for a D-IAA football conference, but what about other sports such as women's basketball? Is it true that there is no IAA, just D-I? I've been told this by a few people, but haven't been able to find information about it to confirm or deny. Anyway, if this is the case, is it even possible for NDSU (or us in the future) to compete on such a level? Someone please advise me on this...
  10. Since our friends at bisonville.com are having a little fun with pictures of our AD & president... I thought I'd post a snapshot of Gene Taylor & Craig Bohl in front of NDSU's "Old Main" building. Thanks for hosting the pic, admin!
  11. Can I post an image off of my C drive?
  12. As much as I hate to admit it, I think NDSU will have a strong team this year. Their fans have to like what they're seeing with the new staff. A little house cleaning and some fresh attitudes will go a long way for them this year, IMO. It looks like October 18 will prove to be another great battle for the nickle!

    Power play

    My thoughts EXACTLY!
  14. Handy: You really think Vanek will be wearing maroon next year, huh... Well, I guess you're right on something!
  15. bull$%!#. Give him 3 million and see how "not about the money it is." He's just bartering to a "little better fit" before he signs. (and he will sign)
  16. Yes, Mike was with Schoen when REA was constructed. Anyway, for unknown reasons, there was an employee exodus from Schoen Assoc. after the REA was completed, (rumor says a conflict with promised $$ after REA completion) and Mike and others started Icon Architecture. Through the construction of the "little Ralph" in TRF, I'm aware that things at Schoen have, well, "slipped a little." Therefore, IMO, they went with the experience of that original core group, and said ciao to Jim K. and his current staff. I wish Mike and his staff well, they're a good group to work with.
  17. One thing that has stirred the pot a bit is the "home court issue." If what I heard is not correct, please disregard... Is it true that when the hockey team is on the road, the teams will play in the main arena? How then can you build a sense of home court if you aren't even in the same building for all of your games? It's reasons like these that prompted Gene R. to publicly say that he didn't like playing in the REA, (although last years NDSU win might have changed his thoughts a bit...) and I don't blame him. It's like being on the road at home. On another note... is this building going up to the north of the REA? (you know... the field where people park for hockey games?)
  18. The state funds that were slated for NDSU's DI move... how else could we fund such a thing?
  19. Yes. Yes you did.
  20. I'm with you sprig, but how can they resist? I mean really... POI just plain sucks.
  21. Good Link, Sic... I was pleased to see that Chad Beiswenger (Lancers) is putting up nice numbers. Being the man behind Vicari can't be easy, and it looks like it's doing him good in the numbers department. I wouldn't mind seeing a local (Moorhead) 6'2" guy in the nets at REA one day...
  22. Good Point.... Okay... back on topic... my objective early predictions: *We take WCHA *We lose to Goldy on Saturday night of the Final Five (a motivational ploy by Dean "the Genius" Blaise) *gophers get their tails cut off by Michigan in the NCAA *We win #8 , and don't even riot.
