  1. Clever! It seems that the only thing GF residents wanted was to have their neighborhood pools replaced. But now the city and their "destination city" deciples found a way to better suit their own needs and wants. (and those of Cannad Inn) Again, the city of GF is tailoring to their own needs and wishes, not those of its residents. I guess the voters will ultimately decide the fate or fruition of the water park.
  2. I have recently moved out of Grand Forks, and to the rural Thompson, ND area, in part because of my skyrocketing property taxes. My new home will be twice the size, on an 11 acre lot, and still be just over half of what I was paying for taxes in my old home. The dike second assessment on my property west of I-29 was the straw that broke this camel's back. People are sick and tired of being taxed in Grand Forks. It seems all people want to do anymore is tax and spend, when our damn dikes aren't even paid for yet of all things. I was fed up enough to leave, and judging by the sale of 5 other lots near me to GF residents, I'm not the only one.
  3. FYI: According to WDAZ sports, Bowencamp missed practice yesterday due to illness. Wilson, however, participated.
  4. Good stats UND92,96. I guess maybe I've been too critical too, probably stemming from Wilson's brief success. But if he could just get those passes down a little...........
  5. When the Bison defense stops our running game, and John keeps throwing 6 feet above his receivers, he's outta there. Yes... it will happen.
  6. Although I feel like I'm being led down a path of eventual demise, I agree. Whoever wins, gets the nickel. We don't play anymore, that winner keeps the nickel forever. That sounds too easy... what am I missing, here?
  7. Bush league because it was the gophers. No more discussion needed. God, I hate gopher hockey.
  8. Isn't that kind of like Vanek being put in the game (off his regular line by the way) to score an open netter when the Sioux were in town?

    Remember Radio

So much for "nobody pays attention to those stupid message boards"...
  10. Tony: I'm having difficulty understanding your opinions on this subject because of your hazy implications and lack of smiley face icons... For the benefit of the siouxsports.com board, please edit your posts accordingly. Seriously, you are correct about the polls not mattering. It does give us fodder to throw around on Sun-Fri, but like you said... it all comes down to winning the important games.
  11. Right on... During the Denver game last year, they played it at the end of regulation and everyone went nuts. Definately cool. If its as bad as it sounds, maybe I'll stay in the bathroom Saturday night...
  12. Can anyone give a quick description? I completely missed the whole starting line-up. (I had to take the 4 year old to the bathroom... )
  13. So is DeMarchi gone? The link didn't say he was one of those going to Albany...
  14. I quote the 70-80 year old guy behind me to his wife: "What the f**k is this, hockey or a goddam circus?"
  15. On the coaches show last Wednesday, Coach Lennon didn't mince words about taking Bowencamp out if he didn't produce. I guess we saw that result in the game on Saturday. Anyway, my point is that Wilson obviously knows the system and has looked decent in practice for DL to say something openly on radio before an important conference game. Bowencamp undoubtedly saw the writing on the wall, right? I might be reaching here, but sometimes a team will rally around one individual vs. another. Much like coaching, sometimes a team will "play" for one coach but not another. Could this be the case with Wilson/ Bowencamp? Of course, its easy for me to say these things given the current win and situation as a whole. Just throwing it out there...
  16. Exactly, CRR, special teams plays were huge for us... Defensively and Offensively... Lueck was noticeably frustrated. After one dropped pass, it looked like he was taking himself out of the game. Helmet off, doing the arm wave-off thing, shaking his head, etc. Everyone has bad games, I'm sure he'll be fine. PLAY OF THE GAME: Wilson's heads up pass to convert the final fourth down and get into field goal range. It looked like he comitted to the rolling run, and at the last second hit a planted receiver on the sideline for a first down on the 35. Great job seeing the field. We all went crazy... one hell of a game. (Jeff Glas' field goal could also qualify for POTG ) PREDICTION: Wilson starts next week. (not really going out on a limb here)
  17. I think I saw that... do you sit 3-4 seats in in the first row of 108... wear a #5 jersey, and sit next to a guy with a lighted hard hat? Even I thought she (and her feathery blonde fellow) were being pricks... BTW, If the Duluth station really called UND's first goal a deflection... Are "deflection" and "trickler" synonyms in hockey lingo?
  18. Redwing77: The only thing you left out were penalties and time of goals...
  19. We need to do some hitting: 1) Bowencamp needs to hit open targets. 2) Travis Lueck needs to hit the open field. 3) Adam Roland and Brandon Strouth need to hit the holes. 4) Jeff Glas needs to hit field goals from 50 yards without hitting the crossbar. 5) The defense needs to hit Heckendorf. Really, really hard. Bonus) The coaches (no names) need to hit the books and mix it up a bit. I'd have a million points with this team playing "QB1"
  20. All to be expected by them... 1) Blowing sunshine up Vanek's ass 2) Duluth is looking to solve "unfinished business (no NCAA bid last year) 3) Sioux golies stink (nice link to the curse article, I see ) yada...yada...yada I swear, every pre-season article is a clone of the other...
  21. I disagree... I think it will be a sellout even though the tickets are higher priced. Someone will buy them... But like you said, at least we can tailgate.
