  1. In what? God help you if you're in engineering... Everyone knows what a scam engineering is! Anyway, congratulations.
  2. Could competing on the track team mean he may be back on the football team next year? Or is he forever 86'd? Regardless... no brains/ no headaches...
  3. 10 years worth $102 million. Unfrickin'believeable. Or as George Kastanza once said, "Sweet Fancy Moses!" Here's The Story
  4. While the networks can't use the "big market" names to their advantage, they can play the "no superstar, team of 3rd & 4th liners, lowest salary" card. It just might get people interested if they market it correctly. Hell... I'd even watch the NBA playoffs if something like that happened! (well..... maybe not......) Go Wild!

This one more suits the NDSU Division I agenda... "Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently." ~ Henry Ford
  6. please read the above post about "not all season ticket holders have deep pockets"!
  7. PCM... I'm with you on this one. If there was something that the season ticketholders were doing that impeded the view of others, they'd have to give up what they want to do in some sort of compromise with those who object to their actions. But... hello out there... they're doing nothing wrong. Compromise doesn't have a damn thing to do with this. If you don't play by the rules, you get moved. REA students...case in point. Anyway...Flatspin, I'm sorry that those of you who do abide by the rules and are respectful of others are getting the s&!t end of the stick. That really sucks, but nobody ever said life is fair. Once you're out of school, it gets worse.
  8. Hey back off the "non-standers"... J/K I disagree, diggler. I think the decision has been made, and now it's a "going through the motions" thing. Maybe I'm wrong, God knows it's not the first time... but I think that conversations with the student senate are nothing more than a courtesy/ PR game. After all, the students do not own any piece of that building; and after all the broo-ha-ha (love that word) about team spirit, crowd atmosphere, and students' rights is over with... the students do not have a leg to stand on, and are subject to whatever the AD decides.
  9. Yes... and it was ignored. So, the students as a collective group are now going to reap what they sow. I can just hear the meeting of the new student proposal... "Mr. Thomas, I know we've been disrespectful in the past, but this time we really, really, really promise to be good." Give me a GD break! Since you brought up football, my seats are in the front row at the Alerus, and I sit my ass down out of courtesy to those behind me. When play calls for it, I'm up on my feet yelling and screaming like everyone else. NASCAR??? Who gives a damn about NASCAR?
  10. I agree, but do you think that REA wants the responsibility for enforcing UND's policy? Since there's no way to control the crowd, other than... I think the move is inevitable. I think that guy who brought up the boycott ought to be shaken, not stirred. Is there not a shortage/ waiting list for student tickets as well? I'm sure he gained tons of ground with the "powers that be" with that comment. Way to help your cause, dumbs**t.

So are you one of "us"? Only joking... I'm sure many people feel the same way you do. I do, however, stand by my thoughts on the 'SU administration...

We maintained our Division II status. That was the last thing they wanted us to do...
  13. How long until he "gets out on parole"? All of the intelligent conversation and proper spelling and grammar is getting out of hand... siouXroCk seriuSly is comingg bAkc rite? (shoot...I misspelled parolee)
  14. If I may plat devil's advocate... I wonder what would have happened if a group of students complained about other students standing to REA ushers/ admin? Certainly the REA admin turned a blind eye to any enforcement of the "standing issue" this past season. But was it because it would be viewed as the same old "old farts vs. the students" thing? I have to wonder if REA might have taken some action if it was the students complaining... I think that's a bet I'd take...
  15. For a guy who lives in a town with gravel streets, he sure is witty... You're right though... it's the actions of a select few who pissed it away. Not the student section as a whole; and you're also correct about..."The fact is the REA did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to make the students who were standing to sit down this past year. " You got hosed, Tommy. You got hosed.
  16. Hammy, you and I think alike on this one. I can see checking the guys out for a while, but after Christmas, you have to pick your man. I've said it before and I'll stick to my guns on this issue. Goalies have a fragile psyche, and you can only mess with them so long before they self destruct. Your team will also crumble because of their lack of confidence in the goaltending decisions. This past year was the strangest thing I've seen. You stick with a guy because he's playing good, and after one bad night he loses his starting position? That's farging ridiculous! I'm still tring to figure it out... God help us if he rotates four next year!
  17. 72 saves in triple overtime Held Philly to 0 for 8 on the PP. Unfortunately, it was for nought as Toronto lost 3-2. Still... what an effort! Way to go Ed! ESPN Article
  18. It's possible that the students will be in front of the rental suites. I could see REA re-assigning all 4 rentals to the northwest corner. Everyone wants to be on the south end anyway! No north-end suite holders will argue about moving south... they just might sign on for a few more years...
  19. In theory, it sounds like a good idea. "One last chance", however, happened last year; and as I've already posted, Section 108 did a great job abiding by it. Section 109 did not. If the fans in 108 knew the implications of their actions, how is it that 109 had absolutely no idea? They knew, didn't give a damn, and are now being relocated. (along with the curteous students in 108) The fact remains that there are suite holders that have been pissed off for two years, and the decision has been made. Let me repeat that... The decision has been made. It hasn't come as an overnight surprise, either. The people that sign the suite contract for $25000 per year (plus minimums) are the ones holding the power here, and they are the leading members of the "Greater Grand Forks Good-'ol-boys Club." Leave no doubt about it...they have REA's ear, and what they want, they will get. In fact, I'm surprised it has taken this long. Any attempts at "lobbying" or creating opponent groups like "S.A.S.S." are being done in vain, and in my opinion are falling on deaf ears. Certainly Mr. Thomas will hear the arguments, as it's his job. I'd be very surprised, though, if any changes are ammended to what we read in the Herald last week. As sad as it is, this is just another texbook example of the golden rule... THE ONES WITH THE GOLD MAKE THE RULES
  20. Wonderful. Starting in October, there is hockey 8 out of 10 weekends. Now don't get me wrong, I love watching Sioux hockey. But I love other sports too...and last years schedule screwed me out of more than one trip. Whatever happened to having some hockey games in February, when there's absolutely nothing else to do? This is beginning to piss me off. I can see the look on our babysitters face..."Hey Katie, what are you doing for every weekend in October, and the first couple in November?" Give me a break...
  21. Be nice... I'm still not feeling well!
