  1. You're not still upset with me 'cuz I was on your big-screen at Mariucci, are you?
  2. Two way street, hockey1. Last year, as I waited outside the OSU arena waiting for my bus to arrive, I was taunted by Gopher fans shouting "Sioux still suck" and "I hope you get your a**es kicked Saturday night." I shook my head and said "always classy Gopher fans" and walked away. Two way street my friend, two way street.
  3. WHAT? PCM, I know a media jackal. Media jackal is a friend of mine. And trust me, son, you're no media jackal.
  4. Did you just say 'media jackals'? If so, that is a blatant reference to a term used by Jesse Ventura, infamous former governor of the state where I reside. I believe this reference should be written up by board administrators and put in your permanent file.
  5. Yea, that was pretty funny. I'll take Woog and his maroon-colored glasses any day of the week as long as he continues to snub his nose at the PC world and say "Fighting Sioux". It's much better than Channel 9 showing St Cloud games and making sure that everyone refers to the team as UND or North Dakota while doing the politically correct tip-toe dance.
  6. Yea, let's all sit on our hands and grumble because no team has ever come back from an early first period two-goal deficit to win the game. And people had left after the second period? Gimme a frickin' break, people. The hottest place to be in Grand Forks on a Saturday night would be a Sioux/Gopher game and you think the team can't overcome a 4-1 deficit? Way to go, fairweather fans!
  7. PCM, I'm disappointed with this piece of pseudo-journalism. Do you mean alterior movites? I've never been a big fan of Doug Woog, but I'll say this much about him: Was it just me or did he seemingly go out of his way this weekend to say the words "Fighting Sioux" as opposed to "UND" or "North Dakota"? I watched the game this weekend with some friends and I'm not the only one who noticed that.
  8. For the record, WPoS, I was more disgusted by Chorney's antics after scoring Saturday than I was by Irmen on Friday. Ugh...down 4-2 with crunch time to play and you scored on a deflected shot that was probably 10' wide of the net when it was deflected in. Put your head down, go back to the bench, and try to make it 4-3.
  9. So...any impressions left from the delegation attending the games this weekend?
  10. In much the same way some people are apparently saying "UND's loss, Gopher gain," flash back to Matt Henderson from White Bear Lake and his not being recruited by Minnesota. Hindsight is always 20/20. Of course, back then, Wooger was stocking the Gopher roster with stellar athletes like his son Dan and Jesse Bertigliot, so who am I to judge?
  11. Yes, the reverse is also quite true.
  12. Oh please. Again, just like the countless kids from Minnesota who have gone on to successful careers at UND. Why didn't Duke recruit Michael Jordan? How do quality high school football recruits from Ohio end up going to USC to college? Or worse, Michigan? You can't recruit everybody. Did you ever think a kid growing up in Fargo or Grand Forks might just be tired of small-town life and want to head to the big city? Surprise, it happens.
  13. I would have been equally disgusted had a Sioux player done it, WPoS. Considering that the 2002 Frozen Four crowd was "50/50" (at least according to Don Lucia's hearing-impaired estimate), Metcalf's "shh" was over the top too. Don't get me started on the non-calls on Hauser in OT though. The thing to keep in mind here is that this is a game in December. I'm sure Gopher fans can easily be reminded of how it's more important to be playing well come February or March than it is now.
  14. Please. It has nothing to do with the fact that Danny's a Gopher and everything to do with the idiotic "look at me look at me look at me" preening for the cameras that today's athletes seem to love so much. Maybe tonite FSN North can do a nice presentation on Twin Cities kids leaving Minnesota and going to North Dakota to play hockey and how they feel when they play the 'U'.
  15. Frankly, I'm impressed that Danny knew it was an "M" on his jersey. This Monday in his English 101 class at the 'U', they'll be learning the letters N, O, and P.
  16. Yea, I know. That part was meant for 01grad. BigChief will be there too. I'm bustin' out the special occasion Sioux jersey tonite too...my green Blackhawk away model from 1992.
  17. RWTD, can you save me a seat tonite? I'm 6:30-6:45 ETA. I'll be the bald guy with the goatee.
  18. When are the wife and kid comin' out, BigChief? Has your litle one seen his first Sioux game yet?
  19. I have no friends, 01grad, so I'd be going solo anyways. I'm thinking BigChief might be interested in going as well. As a token gesture to get people to come out, I'd be offering an updated Liberty Bail Bonds keychain this time around to anyone who says 'hi' to me. This year's keychain colors are white and green!
  20. I'm thinkin' Bloomington tonite myself. Whaddya think?
  21. I think the Bear's Nest in South Heart will be showing the game in high-definition.
  22. I've made mention of the western glut of Hobey winners in recent years, PCM, but people still think somehow it's a Hockey East conspiracy against the Sioux. That being said, I disagree with your comment about Ryan Miller having an "amazing" season. Granted, his statistics were eye-popping and I am sure he had plenty of good games, but having personally seen a game in East Lansing that year and hearing some of the fans comment about him, I would concur with fans here that Jeff Panzer was robbed. Michigan State was a very defensive oriented team that year and as soon as the score was 1-0 or 2-0, some good old fashioned clutch-and-grab and three-men-back hockey was the norm at Munn Ice Arena. The game I attended was the UMass game and the Minutemen mustered up all of about 8 shots on goal until about 40 seconds left in the game when Miller misplayed a dump-in and got a puck stuffed into an empty net. He was immediately waved over to the bench and pulled by Ron Mason. I laughed at this and a fan in front of me says "happens all the time when we're ahead...they're protecting his GAA." Sorry to disagree with my favorite pseudo-reporter, but Panzer WAS robbed.
