  1. I borrowed a set of my green Pizza Factory broomball jerseys last year to BigChief. I know it's short notice, but if you needed them for tonite...
  2. Long time listener...first time poster... They play December 2nd and 3rd this year and I'm pondering going for the second year in a row. Last year, they played over Thanksiving break. No snow on the way up (unheard of at that time of the year), then they got about 2 feet on Saturday night. At least my SUV got some experience in the snow. A great hockey trip!
  3. Don't stop there, DAR, be sure to make the trip to Houghton if you haven't had a chance to. They have friendly fans there at Michigan Tech and it's fun listening to the students spell out "technological" after the Huskies score a goal.
  4. Is that where the Bay City Rollers come from? S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y day!
  5. So you're proud to be associated with the two dimwits seated near me who cheered out loud at the goal that made it Gophers 1 and Huskies 0 on Friday night...when two TVs over from the one these knuckleheads were staring at was the real-time version, not the tape-delay version?
  6. Even more classic, Dagies, was the fact that two Gopher fans behind me who arrived at about 9:00 pm were busy watching the tape-delay version. Shortly after the Gophers went up 1-0, they realized that the team was actually losing 3-2 on the LIVE version. Watching the Sioux at Joe Senser's: No Charge Mac & Cheese for the lil Sioux fan and chicken fingers for dad: $15 Seeing two Gopher fans cheer when their team scores in what they think is a 1-0 game, then realize that their team is actually losing 3-2 with about 20 seconds left and that they've been watching the tape-delay version for about 10 minutes: PRICELESS
  7. I forgot completely about that...double bonus points tonite. No Gopher smell and no cigarette smell. Just confirmed...no channel 311. See you in an hour!
  8. I should have said that while yes, they do carry CSTV, I do not have the Sports Package so I can watch it. Of course, I'm going to go home in about 26 minutes and double-check anyways.
  9. I'll have to check it out when I get home...I just logged onto the Bloomington listings and didn't see it there.
  10. MafiaMan

    Help!

My mom told me a long time ago that "Lux et Lex" stood for knights in satan's service. Oh wait...that was the rock group KISS. My bad.
  11. It might mean I have to stop by Target and pick up a few Star Wars toys to keep my almost four-year old occupied, but I think I'm gonna be there tonite!
  12. How many freshman from Minnesota have ever won the Hobey Baker? Zero. Ryan Miller won the award as a sophomore. I guess that counts as "out east" on your map, but he still wasn't a freshman. A freshman winning the award is rare enough (Paul Kariya, Maine, 1993), but saying the system is biased in favor of the Gophers and "out east" is rather silly when you look at the winners of the past few years: Marty Sertich (CC), Junior Lessard (UMD), Peter Sejna (CC), Jordan Leopold (Minnesota), Ryan Miller (Michigan State) I'm with those of you who feel Jeff Panzer was robbed in 2001. There is no question about that. Funny, though, because Mike Mottau from BC won the award in 2000 when most people (including me) felt Steve Reinprecht (Wisconsin) was a slam-dunk for the award. One might look at the list of Hobey winners and say "hmnn...the system is biased against Lake Superior State, Colgate, RPI, and Northeastern, too", but it's not. Frankly, I think the fact that the last four winners are from the WCHA speaks volumes. It's the best conference in the country.
  13. How unfortunate, since Joe Senser's is one of the very few places in the metropolitan area of Minneapolis/St Paul that you can see a live Gopher hockey game on TV. What an outrage! In retaliation, I think Gopher fans should lobby more schools to play "home" games at the Xcel Energy Center due to the obvious bias against the home team that exists here!
  14. No, I have one, since Time Warner doesn't carry CSTV. Good chance I'll be at Senser's with the rest of the gang-green.
  15. Is Bloomington's best sports bar showing the Fighting Sioux this weekend?
  16. NorthDakotaHockey scrounging for a free ticket? What a tightwad! I just found out today I have about a week to live and my dream of seeing the Sioux play one more time will die...just like me. I guess I'm just a bit too late to get these tickets (sniff, sniff). Goodbye cruel world.
  17. Heck yea, I've been planning on doing that...hopefully soon!
  18. Where ya been, stranger? Nice to see you back on the board.
  19. GK, Your level of bigotry and hatred towards anything non-Indian really doesn't stun me anymore. Are you seriously blaming white people because a Mexican is putting up the Indian Association's tipi? I bet I can count the number of half Italian UND athletes on one hand, too, with digits left over. You're upset because a "foreigner" is teaching the Lakota language? Talk about racist. That "foreigner" is probably an American citizen. Of course, I'm sure you also refer to him or her as the "Asian Cracker" or something like that. Open your eyes, GK. America is the great melting pot. And, stunningly enough, you're a part of it.
