  1. Any truth to the rumors that once the helmets were removed after the game, it was discovered that the POI roster included Jesse Bertigliot, Dan Woog, and Steve DeBus?
  2. I'm assuming you're talking hockey here, Cratter. The Sioux are 4-8 in their last six visits to the Kohl Center with wins coming in 2002-03 (sweep), 2001-02 (split) and 1999-00 (split). I'd say Bucky's gotten the best of the Sioux during that time. See SI.com today. One of the major columns talks about NDSU's win being the big event of men's college basketball this past weekend. For those of you whining about how UND's women's team being undefeated isn't that big of a story...even Division I women's basketball is rarely mentioned on SI.com or ESPN Sportscenter unless it involves Tennessee or UConn. If the Sioux women knocked off a dominant Division I program, it still wouldn't make news. Unless it happened to involve the two teams I just mentioned.
  3. You don't get too intimate with your skates, do you, Cratter?
  4. Congratulations Bison fans (not to mention Bison basketball team) on a big, big win today. Way to go!

I wear #19 in broomball and softball, Sioux-cia!
  6. Alas, it is for those of us who cannot skate.
  7. I've seen that face before...last March...Columbus...the Platinum Fox...ah, yes...it's all coming back to me now. In all seriousness, I didn't see any highlights of the game, but it does sound like the Sioux played well. Let's hope that that continues tonite and UND gets an important sweep to put a nice gap between 5th and 6th place.
  8. How many of you guys own broomball shoes or a broomball stick? I could probably borrow a ton of equipment from one of my two teams and we could make it the 4th Annual POI/SS Hockey game immediately followed by the 1st Annual POI/SS Broomball game.
  9. At ONE point in their life. You've managed to follow that sign up with some stoopid comments on here, too, so I guess that means twice.
  10. I saw the throwback jersey guy, too. He's the kind of fan whose jersey usually has a nice set of heat press-on letters applied to it with a goofy name like "Rubiks Cube" or "Back-to-Back Champs" along with the #69!

Speaking of sarcasm, the "Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase" game on January 5, 2007, will be between Robert Morris University and Notre Dame? Ugh.

I hate nothing worse than polls and pre-season rankings. Wait, one thing. Pre-season All Americans in college sports. Dumbest thing ever. People who rely on those things are the same people waiting for Brian Lawton to prove he's a better hockey player than Steve Yzerman.
  13. Knowing NorthDakotaHockey as well as I do, he's rabid enough. And if he starts foaming at the mouth this weekend in Grand Forks, please, someone, get him to a veterinary clinic.
  14. A friend of mine's ex-girlfriend's former fiancee knows Chucko's dad's brother's mistress and according to her, he's a jerk too.
  15. Which half is WPoS in, sagard?

Great. And since the NHL draft is later this afternoon...oh, wait, nevermind. I give this as much weight as I give Gopher fans telling me that "we're still ranked higher than your team" as I was leaving Mariucci Arena.
  17. That's just him being a kid and having fun.
  18. I wasn't blaming the Gophers, sagard. The blame is with the bracketologists who somehow think hosting a regional in your own building isn't a big deal. If that regional isn't in Yost in 2002, I GUARANTEE you that Michigan doesn't make the Frozen Four. That 2002 Denver team was EASILY the best team they had in recent memory, INCLUDING their 2004 and 2005 championship teams.
  19. I score goals like that three times a week in broomball. Nothing special.
  20. That's not necessarily restricted to Minneapolis. Remember 2002 when Denver won the WCHA regular season AND playoffs and got sent to Yost to play Michigan, while Minnesota also went to Yost but got to play Michigan State? Michigan fans were more than happy to cheer for Minnesota over their hated in-state rival. Most experts agreed and were quite stunned. The match-up that year should have been Minnesota playing Michigan and Denver playing Michigan State. Of course, the NCAA made up for it in the Frozen Four by making sure a referee called an obvious penalty on Adam Hauser for slashing in OT of the title game, which gave Maine a power play and resulted in their third national championship. Oh wait...nevermind...
  21. See above post...and cue Ed McMahon and his trademark "HHHHEEEEYYYYY OOOOOOHHHHH!".
  22. I'll admit, after Friday's thumping, I was a little incognito and minus a hockey jersey on Saturday. I wore a Sioux long sleeve t-shirt. No Maine hat...alas, I went with no hat at all.
  23. I was at Target Center a few weeks ago for a Timberwolves game...two attorneys next to me were busy hammering out an agreement between NWA and their striking mechanics.
