I don't know about others, but I had no clue they did this. I am sure UND fans would travel better to this tournament than to a tournament in Reno. The tournament favors the I-29 teams and maybe even Denver since flying from Denver to Sioux Falls is an easy flight, but fans in Fort Wayne or Macomb or Tulsa I can't see a whole bunch of them traveling for the tournament to make a "dent" in the attendance like the Dakota 4, Omaha and Denver. I would like to see them axe that rule and give all schools in the SL the same amount of tickets then whatever is leftover open it up. Can you imagine if SDSU and USD get booted out early you would have a ton of empty seats and it doesn't look good on tv especially if the title game is WIU vs IPFW.

They are gonna need it or the Zags will score 200.

When i mean they are horrible but getting better, they have potential but haven't finished the season with a winning record since 2009-2010 season, that was 8 years ago, and hasn't had more than 10 wins in 3 years. That's bad for a program with a rich history (see Amy Ruley era). Travis Brewster's team hasn't had a losing season since the 2012-13 season, he has had two 20 win seasons since the 2013-14 season. These two programs are in opposite directions, it will be interesting to see how it continues when we join the Summit League in the fall.

Bison has yet to beat us in the DI era. There isn’t much excitement on an OOC game. It’s not the Roebuck vs Ruley of old. Bison are horrible but getting better. Next year we should be able to dominate them in both games, and with a conference title on the line it should draw more excitement.

What’s the point of expansion when currently they are running at 70% capacity, that would be like us getting the Alerus to 20k. Makes no sense until there is SRO at every game. Also schools doing the “Eastern Michigan” technique gets spendy every year. It’s nice if a corporation buys the tickets but to have the school foot the bill like Akron....ouch!! Hopefully if the FBS splits they can cancel that attendance rule for the G5 conferences and keep the rule for the uppe tier(P5).

2,428. NDSU didn’t sellout it’s game against UND in its remodeled arena 5022 out of 5700. The game isn’t big until we join the Summit and both compete for a conference title.

Winning games increases attendance.

There are 50 DI schools who plays in an arena smaller than ours, however UND averaged 2,139 last season or 65% of capacity. Its not like the Betty is turning people away every game because of lack of seating. To put it another way, Augustana averaged more people (2661) than UND. The 3300 seat Betty is more than enough to watch a game.

Football at 11am, basketball at 7pm. Sober up and make the drive up.

UND is 4-4 and NDSU is 3-5, I doubt you can get 10,000 people at the Ralph for the game. I would rather the game be played in a smaller arena that’s packed and loud than a big arena that’s almost half empty, that’s why there aren’t games at the Alerus and not many at the Ralph. NDSU had games at the Fargodome against UND it sucked. Pretty empty building and it didn’t have a basketball atmosphere at all. There isn’t much of a need for a bigger arena overall as the Betty doesn’t sellout many games.

Plus it’s at home unlike the next two at SDSU who is playing #6 Witchita St tough and of course at Gonzaga which could be an ugly final.

Hopefully team can get hot during conference play, and at least beat NDSU.

Had to stop reading it after they blamed Roger Thomas for single handedly reducing the scholarships in the 1980’s to equal the playing field. Only if UND had less scholarships than NDSU would that be possible, which they didn’t. Idiots!!

Have a playoff system like this and FCS teams won’t hesitate to move up. The current system of 4 is a joke, and even 8 teams will be a bigger joke if more g5 teams go undefeated only to be left out in favor of another p5 team.

Can we borrow their offense? I would love our team to score over 50 points of course giving up 62 points would suck.

Actually they beat everyone on their schedule. Alabama played Mercer....MERCER! It’s not UCF’s fault they are in a g5 conference and the FBS playoffs are rigged only for p5 teams only. Boise St was denied a chance how many times in the past. Unless you are in a p5 conference there is NO WAY you are getting picked over an Ohio St or Alabama.
