You do know the AHL Fighting Sioux would have a different Sioux logo than what is in the REA.

Anything with the Sioux logo will be on the back burner for replacement as the REA and the Sioux forever fans would die to see a Fighting Hawk logo in their presicous cathedral where a Sioux logo once was.

Money is going onto the floor of the Betty as the Summit Logo and (hopefully) the Fighting Hawk logo will be added to the floor this fall.

I would give Brew one season into the Summit League and if it’s as bad as this one then time to look to someone else.

There are more women’s sports than men’s sports, so I agree we should have equality. Add another men’s sport to even the number.

29. 21 by Idalski and 8 by coaches before him. Most of the 21 by Idalski came early in his career, with only 1 ND girl played in the last 3 years of the program. He favored European girls over local talent. That 29 averages to almost 2 ND girls per year. There were 4 girls from Europe on the 2016-17 roster, with one from ND.

Screw that, UND games belong in GF especially conference games. If the west wants to see DI sports they can drive east or move up.

For me it’s the no checking rule. Makes the game boring as hell to watch.

Shouldn’t the numbers of fans prove how popular the sport is on campus. More people attended UND volleyball games against Big Sky opponents (other than the Montana’s) than go to women hockey games against the Badgers or Gophers. Too bad it takes dropping the program to get people excited about UND women’s hockey.

It was removed by the school board in June of 1991. I started Central that fall, I got what Redskin stuff I could get from the school store. I still have a jacket and hat that says GFC Redskins with the logo.

REA announcer said the 1993 GFC Title team was the GFC Knights, they were the Maroon and Grey. Knights wasn’t until the fall of 1994 (94-95 school year). 2-0 GFC 5:35 left 2nd period

Brad Berry (Mr anti Hawk name/logo), puts it in the players heads that they are the Sioux not the Hawks. You don’t see Bubba telling his players to play Sioux Football, or Brian Jones saying play Sioux basketball, and why? They aren’t the Sioux. That ended in 2012, these kids coming in aren’t playing under the Sioux name and logo they are playing under the Hawks name and logo. Maybe Berry needs a reality check just look at the name on that 2016 banner.

By the comments on Facebook you would’ve thought there was thousands of people about to picket the AD office to reinstate women’s hockey. One guy even saying they should cut football in favor of women’s hockey because UND is hockey, of course he doesn’t realize it’s men’s hockey not women’s.

What about putting the logo on both sides of the helmet.

The first challenge for our new AD....how to handle this issue. You know his office will be bombarded with calls from media and the thousands of women hockey fans that never attend games.

It’s already started on Facebook, people crying for the school to bring it back.

Now that the twins won their gold medal are they going to rally their fanbase especially Schlossman to get more articles printed trying to get UND to reinstate women’s hockey?
