I voted no....ND made the Fox News Channel they talked about how ND could become the first and only state in the US that would get rid of the tax, one of their reporters said it won't pass.

Standing Rock-Sioux County, Spirit Lake-Benson County

We know how Spirit Lake feels about the name and its too bad the people of Sioux County couldn't vote to keep the name and trump their tribal council, but a lot of people know by voting to keep the name even though its their (Sioux) name..it would hurt UND athletics and they don't want to do that.

My polling place (North Fargo) closes at 8. I suppose out west it depends on Mountain time.

Instead of eliminating it...lower it by half and see if there is still enough revenue. That way if money is coming up short they can tell the Vote yes on Measure 2 folks that the opponents were right.

It would have been cool if Gonzaga and Boise St stayed in the BSC. UND on blue turf and UND against a powerhouse in basketball.

To make him be the hero in saving the Sioux name and logo, just like Al Carlson was out for publicity getting people's hopes up only to have the NCAA laugh in his face.

I just got back from voting YES on Measure 4. It was sad to do but I know its the right thing.

UND had to look for a football conference first then other sports later, well the Summit was good for the later part but no home for football so UND did what was in its best interest and join the BSC who offered a home for ALL of UND sports not just football. I didn't see the MVFC opening its doors to UND. So actually both teams went its own direction for the best interest of their own schools. UND found a conference home for all sports and USD found a home for all its sports without forking over a huge conference exit fee.

I am waiting until they are about to get to the Dance only to have Omaha or USD beat them.

How much longer will the SL last when teams are exiting left and right, and if the big gun in Oakland leaves only to be replaced with St. Cloud or Sioux Falls would the SU's (and USD) look towards the BSC for a conference home (except football). Although NDSU has a good baseball/softball team and I think that would keep them in the SL as long as possible.

I was at Ribfest last night and saw a few people (not me) wearing UND gear, I was talking to my wife's best friend who showed up for the concert (huge Bison fan). I told her to vote yes on Meaure 4, she said she was for 2 reasons...one, she also knows how the name will affect the Athletic program, but the main reason she said was she was tired of hearing about the nickname in lawsuits, and petitions. She just wants it to end. I think that is what most ND's want...an end!! Of course Reed Soderstrom wants to drag it on as long as he gets paid for it. If they poll every ND that votes YES (not just 500 people randomly on a phone, but after they vote) I am sure a big chunk will claim tiring of hearing about the nickname as reason they voted. They beat the issue to death, that should have ended on Nov. 30th 2010.

And all Al Carlson, and the save the nickname at all cost people heard was blah, blah, blah.

I have wondered if that would be true. If by some reason (IMO Hell would freeze over first) their Tribal Council approved the Sioux name and logo..would the NCAA overlook the deadline? Or would they figure UND ignored the settlement, (NCAA) has been in court twice now, so from now on no matter what happens UND will either be on sanctions or will have to retire the name with NO exceptions.

Grand Canyon University??? Never heard of them...and they want to join the WAC? What's next MSU-Moorhead?
