UND is NOT on NDSU's schedule this season, the season after that and the season after that. 2015 would see Joe Mollberg as a junior QB against NDSU and who ever their QB will be in 3 years. Jensen vs Hanson/Bradley (whoever wins the job) won't happen unless its the playoffs. Since you like to look at the 2011 season...NDSU's second good season since being a full DI member UND beat a ranked team (SUU) on the road, did go 5-1 vs FCS competition, beat another ranked team (USD) at home. How many teams almost beat NDSU? 4-7 SIU....9-3?? 9 points wow!! NDSU did lose at home to YSU (6-5). UND at least lost a home game to a conference winner. 2012 green vs gold game...3-0? If you think you are unstoppable and on a level with the Montana's and App St...you better hope your defense is flawless because you won't win games with a FG on the board.

This is what a "regular basis" is: NDSU’s average home attendance in the Fargodome has grown from 11,567 in 2003 to a school record 18,143 achieved in 2011. Thats the one!! I like how they list the name of schools...the one school that has to be an eye opener is SDSU. Because they are the only non Big 10 team and is on even ground with every UND sport. It shows that any FCS school could easily come out against UND including NDSU (remember they don't need us and have moved on).

UND has matched NDSU's level 3 times since moving up to the FCS...We were ranked this year so that matched the level of the 2005 NDSU team. UND won a share of the GWFC title so that matched the level of the 2006 NDSU team. UND went 3-8 in 2010 so that matched the level of the 2009 NDSU team. So now we are at the level of the 2008 NDSU team....being playoff eligible and starting the season in an AQ conference. I love how you compare us to Northern Colorado...UNC never won a conference title in the FCS. UND did. NDSU's prestige level?? What is that cockyness coming from? EWU won a national title then went to Vermillion and got their ass kicked. Who says that couldn't happen to NDSU. Just because you win a National Title doesn't mean you are untouchable the next season. If you think that you are stupid. Remember NDSU had a kick ass transition period then what did they do when they entered the MVFC...nothing the first two seasons. Well UND has built the team for the playoffs not for transition. You may think UND is nothing because we haven't beaten any FBS teams or have been ranked #1 during the season and did lose to a non DI team but you would be suprised how quick we can go from the bottom to the top..actually you shouldn't be suprised since UND was at the bottom of the NCC in the mid to late 80's...then with some patience look what UND did from 1993 on. Sorry Johnny but UND doesn't have a history of being at the bottom. 2 losing seasons since the mid 1980's. BSC will be no picnic but we are NO UNC.

Correct it shows a women's hockey player putting on equipment then it shows a UND football player putting pads on while they say why the name needs to go then it lists teams UND cannot play: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and South Dakota State. Then it shows a football player in a stadium and the phrase (can't remember how its worded exactly), " if we keep the name...we lose" then the lights turn off on the football player. What does that mean?? Right now? The first game wouldn't be until 2015...UND's 4th season on playoff eligibility (NDSU is currently in their 5th year of playoff eligibility). So again right now? UND could have NC's titles in 2012, 2013, 2014 and you still don't think they should play? Just because NDSU has their one title, they are not the most God given program the FCS has ever seen. NDSU has been playoff eligible since 2008 (4 seasons) and has how many conference titles....1 (shared), they had 3 winning seasons and made the playoffs twice. NDSU isn't on the list with Montana, MSU, App St... What's funny is UND's transition is where NDSU was. Only excpetion is a FBS win. But GWFC titles NDSU 1 UND 1 both teams shared their title. Both teams were ranked in the polls. No playoffs during transition. Is this what scares NDSU? UND is now gaining on NDSU's 5 year head start in DI football? We got kickass recruits, an AQ conference (that NDSU tried to get into twice) and a conference title that will be hung up in the Alerus Center. IMO as long as Gene Taylor is at NDSU....the game won't happen.

When you were 10-1 in the FCS during your transition and we were just a "poor DII team". I know NDSU fans wanted the NCAA to overturn the no playoff rule just for them. You were on top the world and we were just in the NCC.

But you have played OOC games on the road...what's the difference? Are you saying because you had 1 OOC home game in 2009 you will wind up 3-8 again?

USD 29 FCS games....UND 28 UND lost to Sioux Falls.....South Dakota State lost to DIII Wisconsin-Lacrosse. It happens. Are you still playing them no you are currently lucky. Other teams do have to fill out their schedule and play them like Big Sky teams, MVFC teams including UNI. Don't say it won't happen that you have to play a poor DII team (oh wait that would have meant NDSU would have stopped playing UND when UND was DII) thanks again Dan. Now NDSU fans can't say UND stopped the rivalry because NDSU would have done it a short time later.

Look what they paid for Prairie View A&M and looked what happened to UNI. When the list runs out you have 2 choices...DII or a 10 game schedule. Which would GT choose?

When NDSU fans are crying why didn't you schedule UND instead of Sioux Falls or Moorhead State then we can say, yep they were right UND doesn't need NDSU.

No they won't they will be in the Big 12 in 2015...or is the Big 10. I keep forgetting. Once NDSU goes FBS I bet GT will be calling UND for a game then when UND goes FBS sorry we don't want to play you.

You guys never played any non DI teams in transition...got it thanks Dan. BTW I will let NDSU know to erase the Concordia-St. Paul, Arkansas-Monticello, Montana Tech, Carson-Newman games from the gobison.com website and record book.

No genius I am saying more people would watch the rivalry since it will be nationwide and not on KVLY. UND=Nationwide. NDSU vs Cupcake U (Wagner, Morgan State, St. Francis) = KVLY. Understand.

I don't know about comparing tv ratings of the rival game to the NC game, but UND has a contract with Fox College Sports and now Root Sports, NDSU has KVLY. See the difference in eyeballs. Say 2 eyeballs =100,000 people thats what almost 14 eyeballs for ND, plus another 2-4 for Minnesota, and a couple in SD and maybe 2-4 in Montana...thats KVLY....whats the population of the US?? True not everyone in the US will watch the game but its available from NY to Seattle, LA to Miami and everywhere in between. KVLY is what the tri-state area. Get the point about eyeballs.

Obviously UND-NDSU was a big thing if NFL Film's Football America can do a piece on the rivalry. Also I still don't get why NDSU says this would help UND more than NDSU....they are both playoff eligible, needing the same number of DI wins, so make the best team win. But this is the fear that GT has because if he loses to UND, there goes a perspective recruit, and a DI win and could you imagine the headline in the Fargo Forum..."NDSU snubbed from playoffs by losing to UND". Makes for some good reading!!

Has anyone seen it on tv? I saw it twice last night on WDAY. Its sponsored by the UND alumni (Tim O'Keefe) and its a pretty powerful video. I wish I had a link to it.

That is what I don't get they want the big schools to come, and they won't so they need someone to fill the void. UND can come and play for cheap I mean how much to pay for a tank of gas at Stop N Go and then go back after the game. But instead pay Prairie View 200k to play. How much will games be next year or the year after or in 2015? Why do I see NDSU either scheduling a DII team or UND because either no one will come up to Fargo or NDSU won't shell out 500k for a game against Cupcake U.

Plus Illinois is in the same conference as Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa just like UND was in the same hockey conference as Minny, and UW. In 2013-14 UND will not be able to play them unless its in the NCAA tournament or until the name is gone which ever comes first.

Their 2009 team (3-8) had a lot of them, of course most of them by Lakesbison.

I think the place will be packed for Portland State and not only for the Potato Bowl but what's on the line...our DI win count we need 7 or 8 whatever gets us in the playoffs, and it starts with PSU.
