Just wait until we move up in the polls...people will get the two schools mixed up and if and when (you know its coming) UND is ranked higher than NDSU...holy crap there will be more posts about it on BVille than the Sioux nickname issue. Anything that makes NDSU the "victim" makes for great news to blame UND. I am sure they blame us for getting rejected from the BSC twice, its UND's fault that the ref in the EWU-NDSU playoff game in 2010 made a call against NDSU. NDSU is always right and UND is always wrong....its the new motto at the AC.

Besides Montana at UND on Root Sports...what other games are on tv? We have home games against SDSoM, PSU, Montana, Cal Poly, SUU, and NAU. Do we still have a contract with Fox College Sports??

So you aren't a basketball fan? They didn't have Sioux on their jerseys and was only known as UND.

It is going to sound strange at first but it will grow on you if you are a true fan of the school. Look at Minnesota I still think its odd to call them the Wild especially when they got a team back but now even thought North Stars is still in memory they are now the Wild. Just like the Sioux will always be in memory in about 10 years or so you won't have problems saying " go UND Fighting ......"

UND has better have figured that one out. We won what 2 games on the road last year...very pathetic.

I hate the idea of a UND team with no nickname or a new one, but I am also not going to look for a new team (NDSU, MInnesota, etc). I still have my favorite FBS team (Nebraska), my favorite (major) basketball team (Kansas), and of course UND!!! I will always be a fan of the green and white. No matter what nickname they are as long as they call Grand Forks home...I will always cheer for North Dakota.

They did call me earlier this year and I declined since I work weekends and watch my kids so I am not able to get every weekend off to go to games plus money. I meant if those people who paid for their tickets don't want them...give them (not sell them) to me.

If those season ticket holders don't want their tickets....give them to me. Simple.

You can still wear your Sioux gear to games, you can still cheer "go Sioux" and I am sure nobody will look at you differently.

As a Winnipeg Jet fan that is BS!!! The Jets moved...UND is not moving. UND is going to be in the same spot it has been since 1883. The name and logo has changed just like it did in the 1920's before the Sioux name. UND has had many logos and now a few names. But one name has stayed the same.....University of North Dakota!!!!! Until the state shuts it down...that name will be there forever!!!

People (including myself) will still wear our Sioux gear to a UND game. Until a new nickname is chosen I think everyone will. As long as the team on the field is good, fans will show up no matter what the name is. The product on the field has NOTHING to do with a product on the shelf at a store. Fans will show up, wear whatever they want, scream, yell, cheer, stomp their feet, clap their hands, and why?? They are supporting the team on the field/court/ice. Thats why they spend the money for the ticket, parking, and food because they support the school not just the name. We are all fans of NORTH DAKOTA!!!!! That is what comes before any nickname in UND's history....NORTH DAKOTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't like it, don't go. Don't show up at any UND events, pep rallies, potato bowl parade, etc. Just sit in your room with your Sioux gear and cheer for the nickname as loud as you can, while I will be at the Potato Bowl Parade on Sept 8th with my kids wearing my Sioux gear and then at 6pm I will be at the Alerus cheering on the North Dakota football team over PSU. Why? Because I am a UND fan not just a nickname fan.

I've seen pics of the new SHAC and its very impressive...of course the attendance will grow as long as the team is good.

BVille has their theories and of course they all blame UND for the NCAA's mess. Nice to see NDSU fans blaming UND for everything. Building collapses on the NDSU campus...UND would probably get blamed...oh wait didn't that happen.

There are going to be teams that aren't close to each other, does that mean they shouldn't be a part of a conference? Miami is closer to the SEC should they leave the ACC? Youngstown isn't next to any of the MVFC teams except Indiana State and that is like say we are next to Montana State. Hawaii isn't close to anyone they should just be an Independent? Why should geography matter. They (BSC presidents and AD's) look at strengths of a school like academics (they do teach at school), competitiveness, and overall quality of the school. I am sure if they were looking solely at footprints of the conference UND and USD wouldn't have been added.

Because all the fans at Force games are all UND fans....remember Fargo doesn't care about hockey.
