And in DII UNC belonged in the NCC? You didn't belong in the conference geographically. You were the only team in the Mountain Time Zone, but yet I didn't hear any outcry from St. Cloud State, Augustana, Morningside, Omaha or here in the Dakota's to boot you guys out. Why do you think that was?

I am sure Ralph would be saddened like all UND fans were that we would have to change the name and logo, but Ralph didn't see what was coming up against UND and in hockey too... teams not playing us. (2013-14 no Badgers, no Gophers) no home playoff games (REA got blackballed because of the nickname issue thats why the West Regional has never been back to the REA). Ralph wouldn't want the team to start losing recruits to say Minnesota, Wisconsin or even St. Cloud State like Dale Lennon said happened in football. Ralph built a building to show off his team spirit. He died before that NCAA list came out so who knows what Ralph would have done. But saying we are not deserving is wrong. Our team deserved a first class building and Ralph gave that to the UND team, not the Fighting Sioux team,but to the University of North Dakota hockey team. Ralph died in 2002, 3 years before the NCAA NA list came out. I think Ralph was more worried about the SBoHE changing the name than the NCAA.

At Grand Forks Central, they left it up to the students. We all pooled a bunch of names together and then the list was narrowed down (of course all names had to be approved by the facuilty) then voted on by the students...the final two names was Pride and Knights. Of course Knights won by a landslide. I think it should either be just the students alone or have it be the students and alumni.

Its called motivation...show it to all the players on this fall's team and tell them...we could have one of these with our school name on it.

Plus we aren't going to have one for 3 years.

Obviously you forgot that Dale Lennon came out and said UND lost recruits because of the nickname...home playoff games are a way to get recruits to come to UND. Do you think NDSU would have won a National Title on the road in every game? UND couldn't have done it in 2001. Its called home field advantage it is a huge factor when it comes to playoffs.

Good luck getting more signatures. People are tired of this issue and when 67% of the state say its over...its over!!
