  1. While I'd say a majority of UND fans on here are decent, smart people that's definitely not the case when it comes to the entire fanbase. There are some very vocal idiots that complain about anything.
  2. It has already been shown that the consensus on Siouxsports is not the consensus among UND fans. Schloss deals with all types of UND fans, those that are die-hards and those that are casual much more than any of us. It may not be the main reason you want to go back to the X but Brad has had interactions with people who hate the TC because it's not the Final Five at the X.
  3. As fans, would you be willing to pay an extra $10-$20 total to see the games at the X? The cost to rent the X vs TC will definitely be higher.
  4. His arm was in a loose sling by the locker room during the third period on Saturday. Was joking around and wasn't holding it close to his body so I don't think it's that bad.
  5. And you're going up against one of the hottest defensive teams in the nation. If WMU gets to 3 goals, they win as AF doesn't have the offensive firepower. But Shane Starett could easily lead them to the Frozen Four.
  6. So you took a post from one random person saying the NCHC doesn't care about the fan and just assumed it was fact? Josh Fenton has been actively asking for fan input about Target Center and a possible move to the X. This week, you'll see Brad Schlossman post a twitter poll about the TC/X. That is a direct result of the NCHC Commissioner having a discussion with Brad about which way UND fans may lean. The conference does care about what the fans have to say and takes it into account. The NCHC was never going to leave the Target Center during the contract so to assume that fan's voices haven't been heard is ridiculous. Will the future site of the Frozen Faceoff be decided by the fans? Definitely not, but it will play a role in where the tournament goes. With the final upgrades to the Target Center happening this summer, I fully expect the FF to be back at TC next year. After that it really comes down to the numbers both from a business and fan experience aspect.
  7. Don't worry. UND could have hit every free throw and win by 10 and geaux_sioux would still be complaining about Jones.
  8. Neither. Just on CBSSN via TV.
  9. Yes at penalty called, no after a goal, no after any time a team is not allowed to change, no during coach called timeouts. Yes, even on 4on4 or 3on3. First whistle under 15, 10 and 5.
  10. I could very distinctly hear a let's go Hawks chant during the game last night.
  11. I would hate to know how the reaction would be had this been a Jones coached men's team that got destroyed by USD in the first round of the NIT.
  12. Did AZ have a band there? If so, I never saw it on TV. At the end of the game I heard Stand Up and Cheer. Why wasn't Arizona's band playing their fight song right after a win?
  13. Anyone cheering for SDSU against Gonzaga? Would be quite the upset. They're up 2 at the under 8.
  14. And the Yahoo sports app has the Sioux logo still
  15. Screaming Eagles, right?
  16. One of the best signs I've seen:
  17. You mean unifying like the interlocking ND that everyone "LOVED" in 2012?
  18. Can someone explain why DU doesn't go to Cincinnati and UMD goes to Fargo? It saves a flight by keeping Duluth local.
  19. Not really a touchy subject so I'm guessing I don't come off well. I am familiar with SID work in D1 athletic departments so I have a bit more insight. I'm able to see the logistical reasons as to why each staff member works the events they do and why just switching people around when it comes to revenue sports would be a hindrance to other revenue sports.
  20. UND and DU will be on opposite benches from last year as DU took the locker room UND has had the last three years. So UND will be attacking the far end of the ice twice in the picture that was posted. They'll be on the right bench if you're looking at it from across the sheet. For Saturday, UND will be on the same bench if they play UMD and will be on the other bench if they play WMU.
  21. So now you're taking FB duties away from someone who was hired to do the FB team? Powell is the only one on the staff who has FBS football experience, having worked for UCF.
  22. This could open the door for Dixon Ward's son Taylor to decommit from UNO and end up on the UND blue line.
  23. There has to be a different SID for men's and women's hockey. It's the same reason there are different SIDs for men's and women's basketball. How is the WBB SID supposed to do both home MBB and road WBB games at the same time? With Mitch needing to do WBB play-by-play, it's tough to move him to the MBB side. I'm sure Jayson would love a 5th employee to increase coverage and provide a second contact for football, MBB and hockey that stays at home. North Dakota and Idaho are the only flagship universities that have fewer than 5 Sports Information employees and has split coverage between MBB and football. The Air Force Academy has five full-time sports information employees and yet the MBB and FB SID is the same person.
  24. That was quite the jump you just took. I've only said that big-time programs don't take interns and make them the SIDs for the two biggest NCAA sports. I think some changes are needed in the UND athletic media department. I don't work for UND and I don't work in that department, so I'm not about to give Jayson some suggestions on what to change. Ross Ladue was an intern prior to being hired as the WH, soccer, softball and M&W tennis teams. Not exactly showcase sports at UND. However, he had held his current position at Bemidji State from 2009-2011. I have no idea the quality of Ross' work but with the WH and football schedules overlapping for 2+ months of the year it makes it tough to move him to MBB or WBB. There are capable people that can be found and brought in. But just looks at the resumes of the people that are brought in for the big time sports. They aren't interns. Ryan Powell was at UCF covering football before he came to UND. Wigness was a two-time Sports Information Director for 7 years and now he does women's basketball, volleyball and swimming and diving. He would be great for MBB although is play-by-play duties for WBB are very helpful and is something many smaller athletic departments do. Great ideas are definitely helpful and change could make things better. At the same time, the athletic department is going through budget cuts and adding new staff isn't an option. Bottom line: UND isn't in a position to have separate SIDs for the two biggest NCAA sports.
  25. UND has been the top seeded team each year and has had the same locker room each time. It's the only one that has a back entrance through the room to the bench. There are two sets of locker rooms. They usually have it split up based on the Friday matchups. The team that shares the same bench that UND had in that picture has to walk down a hallway, up some stairs and from the corner by the zamboni. In last year's picture, Denver had the locker room just outside of their bench, which was across the hall from UND's. The other team that shared that bench had to walk down a hallway and up some stairs to get to the bench. The locker rooms haven't been assigned yet by the NCHC but once I know, I'll post it here.
