  1. This league also has a team named the "Smoke Eaters".
  2. I was at the Sioux Falls Stampede game tonight in Sioux Falls, and they displayed the Warroad score on the scoreboard, along with Oshie's stats for the game. They also mentioned that he will be in the lineup for Sioux Falls on Sunday.
  3. Speaking of sportsmanship, what's with MacMurchy skating around the ice while the Sioux players are being introduced? He did it both nights this weekend. Not showing any respect for his opponents if you ask me.
  4. Fox has 3 channels dedicated to college sports. I can get them on my digital cable package. It's pretty nice as they air some college hockey games from the CCHA, in addition to Gophers and Badgers games.
  5. All those people need to do is watch the replay of the AHL All-Star game to get a very clear reminder of how big of a loss it was losing those two. (Or check out the AHL stats.)
  6. Trying to watch the game on Dataflix. The quality is pretty bad. I did get to hear a local reporter interview Sioux coach Dave "Haskel". I wonder if he's any relation to Eddie.
  7. Jason Blake article from Tuesday's Fargo Forum

Any word on Brady Murray playing this weekend?
  9. I've been wondering the same exact thing this season. I bet on average we waste about a third of every power play setting up behind the net. Of course, this wouldn't be as much of an issue if we could just hold the zone better on the power play.
  10. Thanks for the info Sal. If you could please post a link to the obituary, I'm sure everybody on this board would be very interested.
  11. Interesting note from that article regarding the bonus points: Bonus Time We know there is a bonus component to the criteria, the NCAA's tweak to the system which rewards "good" nonconference wins. Without official word on the size of the bonuses, we take these numbers: .003 for a good road win, .002 for a good neutral win and .001 for a good home win. Does anything change? Absolutely. North Dakota moves all the way up to No. 9 from No. 14, all by its lonesome. That pushes UNH, UML, Cornell and Ohio State down one spot in the seedings.
  12. I wonder why they wouldn't air both night's games. Won't they be taking a crew out there anyway?
  13. Don't they hang banners in Mariucci for Final Five titles?
  14. UMN 28 40 CC 28 40 UND 28 37 UMD 28 32 UW 28 32 Denver 28 32 SCSU 28 27 Mankato 28 23 AA 28 13 MTech 28 4
  15. Bochenski - 2G, 1A, including GWG in OT over Syracuse
  16. Hey DMT, they finally got the game switched over on Cableone in Fargo just in time for the post-game wrap up. Nice!!!
  17. No doubt! What's the deal?!!! Anybody know who to contact?
  18. Friday -- UND 5-2 Saturday -- Duluth 4-1
  19. I think the old couple should watch the game on TV at home!
  20. Lee Goren scores 2nd hat trick of the season.

I remember the Kollar incident at the Final Five. I think it was the St. Cloud goalie that stood on the ice by the bench waiting for Kollar to leave first. Kollar waited him out for what seemed like about 5 minutes. The Huskie goalie eventually gave up and went to the locker room while the Sioux fans cheered.
  22. Personally, I'm not too worried about this team. We have played, by far, the toughest schedule of anybody in the nation so far, and we have still won more games than we have lost. Also, it's only November. Everybody knew (or should have known) that this team would need some time to gel this season. I'd rather float beneath the radar a bit for the first half of the season and gradually get better, as opposed to other seasons where we've been locked in at #1 or #2 in the nation for the first half, only to fade away when the playoffs approached. As for tonight's game, this could have very easily been a victory. The power play in the first period had one scoring chance after another. Also, we did a good job of staying out of the penalty box. I thought that was encouraging. I do have to wonder a bit about Jordan being the #1 guy right now. At this point, I would be in favor of throwing Phil in there a few games in a row and see how he does. Who knows, maybe he's the next Goehring. The season is young. Let's find out.
  23. Looks like we'll have some chances to see a few former Sioux players in Winnipeg. They play Binghampton (Bochenski) and Syracuse (Goehring and Panzer) at home this season. Too bad they don't play Albany.
