From what I've heard, Fienhage's lack of playing time can be attributed to a bad attitude and a poor work ethic, rather than the coaches stringing him along. At the beginning of the season Fienhage felt that he deserved a roster spot and didn't give as much effort in practice as the other players. Around the time of Genoway's injury, Fienhage's advisor told him that he shouldn't play for UND anymore. Of course, the longer Genoway was out, the more playing time Fienhage got so he stayed.
