  1. Via Brad Schlossman's Twitter: Wow... from the ECHL to the NHL! Nice work, Jean-Phillippe! That's quite an accomplishment regardless of whether or not he sees playing time.
  2. You're right. I read it wrong. Either way, he sounds like the type of player that Minnesota needs. Opposing teams' players, coaches, and fans throw fits with one Hextall, I can't imagine how they would cope with two Hextalls.
  3. I can't believe they asked him to play less chipy. What happened to Don Lucia wanting to recruit players who would step in and protect each other if the refs didn't? There was a Youtube video of that interview, but I can't seem to find it.
  4. I took a few photos, but they turned out a bit blurry. It was hard to get pictures to come out with it being so dark. There was quite a bit of media there. I saw three or four news cameras and at least five photographers.
  5. Great story! It really is sad to think about the nickname and logo changing. Is this you and your wife, by chance?
  6. From Brad Twitter: Awesome!
  7. The walk was incredible! Both the Standing Rock and Spirit Lake tribes had members in attendance. There were multiple speeches and prayers by representatives from both tribes, as well as from GF Councilman McNamara and Danielle S. (event coordinator). The walk stretched for multiple blocks so I would guess that there were at least 300 people. It was an extremely peaceful walk and I would like to give a big Thank You to the University Police Department for being kind enough to block off streets to allow everyone to walk together. The Officers were very supportive and followed along to ensure that our walk wasn't disturbed. I will admit that it was quite emotional. Walking along University Avenue with hundreds of Sioux fans, a cooperative Police Department, and passers by honking and yelling support was amazing! The coolest story I heard on the walk... Members of the tribes became very emotional when they visited Ralph Engelstad Arena today. Apparently, they were completely touched by the amount of respect shown to the nickname and logo and it brought tears to their eyes.

  10. I just got on SiouxShop.com, but it took me two tries to get the page to load.
  11. From what I've heard, Fienhage's lack of playing time can be attributed to a bad attitude and a poor work ethic, rather than the coaches stringing him along. At the beginning of the season Fienhage felt that he deserved a roster spot and didn't give as much effort in practice as the other players. Around the time of Genoway's injury, Fienhage's advisor told him that he shouldn't play for UND anymore. Of course, the longer Genoway was out, the more playing time Fienhage got so he stayed.

  13. But if we do that we won't get to see him do this... or maybe we will.
  14. From Brad's Twitter And some fans want to fire Hakstol because the Sioux haven't won an NCAA tournament game in two years. It could be worse.

  17. There are a few fans in this thread who stated that they will be attending the games. http://forum.siouxsports.com/index.php?showtopic=13828 Also, members of the Fighting Sioux Club were given the opportunity to reserve tickets so I wouldn't be surprised if a group of UND alumni were at the games.
  18. Section 107, I believe. My friend has our tickets.
  19. From the Alumni e-mail: WCHA FINAL FIVE FAN FEST Wild Tymes Bar & Grill 33 Seventh Pl W St. Paul, MN 55102 No charge to attend - all are welcome! 2 hours before game time.
  20. It's official. Frattin suspended one game. http://www.wcha.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/031510aac.html
  21. Not me. Michigan is overdue for a win against us in the regionals. But then again, I thought we were overdue for a win against Boston College in the Frozen Four and that didn't happen.
