Thanks for the link! If the games aren't on Prairie Public TV in Grand Forks then that will be plan B.
-
Hmm... is this a channel that certain restaurants/bars in Grand Forks would have? Buffalo Wild Wings perhaps?

From the Men's Hockey Travel Blog Like I said in another thread, hopefully the guys can shake it off and come out flying tonight.

Yikes! I'm happy to hear that there were no injuries. Hopefully the guys can shake it off and come out flying tomorrow night.

I went on a couple of Al's Frozen Four trips and had a blast. Do you happen to know how much these trips will cost and whether or not he plans to line up a hotel for everyone?
-
Thanks. There are so many nickname threads that it's hard to keep up with all of them. Do you remember what was said?

UND panel begins work of moving away from Sioux nickname I found this piece of information to be quite interesting. It would be a shame to see someone else take control of the Sioux nickname/logo.

Per Jayson Hajdu via the live hockey chat: The Sioux are going with 7 defensemen tonight. Rodwell is out, Simpson is in.

Friday: Kristo Saturday: Frattin

Will the logos be kept at The Ralph ?
MissSioux85 replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in UND Nickname
It is my understanding that the logos won't be removed unless REA management decides to remove them, or UND convinces REA to remove them. The settlement was between the NCAA and UND. The Ralph is privately owned (UND rents) so it's technically not subject to terms of the settlement. However, if UND wants to host NCAA playoff games at The Ralph then it would need to convince REA management and the Engelstad family to abide by NCAA regulations and remove or replace some of the logos over the next 5-10 years. The more permanent logos (ie: the ones imbeded in granite) would not have to be removed. Jody Hodgson (REA General Manager) has stated that there are currently no plans to remove any of the logos and if they did agree to remove them, UND would have to foot the bill (last estimated at $1 million). Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. -
Really? I honestly don't remember them ever doing that. I guess my memory has failed me. Haha!

Interesting change to player introductions this year. Rather than having everyone line up behind the net for the starting lineup, each player was introduced one by one and as they skated out from the tunnel fireworks went off on either side. The last six players introduced made up the starting lineup. The crowd erupted when Chay's name was announced. Manitoba didn't come onto the ice until after our starting lineup was announced. It reminded me a lot of what some NHL teams do. I wonder if they will continue doing introductions that way or if it was something they were trying out.

I was at the game today and was surprised by the attendance. The parking lots around The Ralph were packed when I arrived and I got stuck in traffic on the way out. What a major difference from last season. The game was fun and intense. The Lamoureux twins are fun to watch! The crowd was excellent and we even got a "Let's Go Sioux" chant going at one point. Hopefully the attendance will remain steady throughout the season.

Ditto. It's disappointing.

Yes. It was published in Thursday's paper. More info from Brad's Blog

Speaking of, I wonder if there will be a Sioux Survivor game this season. And I say Kristo or Frattin.

From @Quick Facts' twitter Today's NHL Live can be found here. Click the "Just Added" tab and then the red NHL Live banner. He's on toward the end of the show, about 2 hours in. He asks the interviewers how they feel about the Sioux and the nickname change and gives his opinion. He also said that he wears a Fighting Sioux t-shirt in the movie. Nice "GO SIOUX" shout out at the end!

Q&A with Dean Blais http://omaha.com/article/20100929/SPORTS/709299783 He mentions the Sioux a couple of times. He also shares his thoughts on the Big 10 Hockey Conference.

2 Tix Available for Fri Denver Game
MissSioux85 replied to beebsb010's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
Not to stir the pot, but according to FightingSioux.com, face value for the Denver series is $40, while the Minnesota series is $50. If you go to Tickemaster, the Denver series is listed at $37.50 + fees, which equals $45.40. Going by those numbers, his offer was a staggering $0.40 below face value. -
That looks great! Thank you! You can also try Imageshack.com

Yep, Sioux hat. He's wearing one in this candid photo too.
