  1. Anyone know the last time, if ever, a UND D gave up consecutive games of 500+ total yards?
  2. Based on his former FBS status? His 2 quarters of play vs. a transition D2 school? I didn't see the Mines game and not saying he isn't better but how does one bench Marcus?
  3. I agree. Marcus has 10 TD's in last 8 quarters and he just tore thru a FBS team for 400+ last night. He deserves to start next week. But we dealing with Muss so who knows...
  4. Next week's game is going to set the tone for the rest of the season...BS opener (officially), coming off 1st loss, on the road and vs. a team that can actually BEAT a FBS squad! I'm not a big fan of Muss, but I think next week will really determine what kind of coach he is. He has to shore up the defense...tackling is a step up from flag FB and this is IMO the worst assignment played UND D I've seen since the 80's. We are very sloppy and undisciplined at times. Have to limit the deadball fouls and stupid penalties. The penalty on SDSU's early punt was essentially a TO. Have to try to get the running game going a little bit. Miller has been a complete non-factor so far this season. Not going to win many games getting outrushed 290+ to 50+. But the 4 WRs we put out there in the spread rival what some of the better FBS teams throw out there...and that includes CSU! Let me know if any FCS team can spread you out with 4 better!?!? Probably could use one hand less a couple fingers. So the elephant in the room this week will be who plays QB if we have 2 healthy guys and both are ready to go? My call would be you stick w Marcus to start the game. To say he has pulled his weight in 2 games is an understatement. If UND wins at Sac St., I think they finish top 3 in BS. If not, could be an up and down season in the BS. And to those who keep feeding the 'SU tools who frequent this site...enough already. Until we put a complete product on the field, be quiet! 6-3 vs FBS and a Natty last season leave us know room to question or critizise their FB team(s). Now the LOIC/criminal activity is another matter, but keep that in the Community threads...not here.
  5. Forgot my rolling eyes after moral victory comment.
  6. Lots of positives. Lots of negatives. Bottom line...0-fer vs FBS. Bright side....2nd moral victory in as many years.
  7. We need one stop!
  8. Not lack of support, but not an enabler either. Our D is brutal right now. The pick 6 didn't help but seriously...
  9. Are you Tom Cruise??
  10. Then don't please...
  11. U could tell in handful of plays last week he has got "it"! Going be a beast.
  12. Hope Muss got on the D at half and can coach em up a lil bit this half to give us a shot.
  13. A team w UND's O and SU's D would be a lock for a BS or MVC title.
  14. If UND gets half the D NDSU plays weekly for the rest of the season I like their chances. UND's O is as good as they have had in many many years.
  15. Someone on D needs to channel his inner Eric Schmidt!
  16. Tough to argue w that assessment after what I've seen last 6 quarters.
  17. Pick 6 and a penalty on a punt to give em another TD. Can't do that vs Sioux Falks and expect to win.
  18. My Griz buddy asked me this am what I thought our chances were today. Said UND has to run the ball to keep time of possession close and stay in game. My gut says SDSU 31-23.
  19. Ok Sabin...
  20. Frenso got the ball back w 3 and change left in the game. Best case scenerio UND gets ball back at roughly same spot on field from where they punted with less than 2 minutes to go if they get a 3 and out w no TOs. At SOME point in your best cast scenerio UND still would have had to complete a pass or 2 of 10-15+ yard to eventually punch it in. Not saying ur point is wrong. Again I just think odds weren't any better in ur scenerio given we would have had to just throw anyways.
  21. And that's your opinion but reread your argument. I'll leave it at that. Many of us would have preferred to have taken a shot to win it as well.
  22. And that's why he did not have the stones to go for it. Easy way out...that's what coaches do as to not take heat to protect their jobs. They can all go back to the "percentages" said I need to do this. I get it and I don't blame him for making the "percentage" call. It was the right call based on the "numbers" and the right call in probably any other scenerio. Again, what did UND have to lose? Answer that please??? On the road vs. FBS team who was heavily favored to kick your a88 and you have the opportunity to get your 1st FBS win in this new era. We can agaree to disagree here. It wasn't a bad call, just not the right call IMO under the set of circumstances that presented. Arm chair QBing I know, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn before! In Muss we trust!!
  23. To answer your first question...in the last month of that 2006 season, yes. But at the time of the game vs. 'SU, thinking back probably not compared to NIU. I'll give you that. But Davis did play against NDSU and threw a TD.
  24. Exactly...and I don't think many would have had an issue with that...including his players!
  25. I'll take that under advisement, Mr. Corso! That year (2006) was when QB Nate Davis was a Fr. When he took over late in the year and they were pretty good to end the season winning 3 of their last 4 with that loss to then #2 Michigan by 8.
