Per Brad, Cichy will be playing center again on Friday. Personally I think he is better than some who have been getting lots of ice time. Good to hear. Hope Davidson is in there again as well. Got a feeling Marto will be back on D this weekend too.

One of the oil companies is storing drilling equipment on family land outside of Parshall. Sounds like this spring they might break ground. My grandfather, who will turn 95 in Feb., always believed he would see the day that oil was found on his land. For his sake, I hope it comes true.

Totally agree...it seems like it was either or with those two. Find a D1 conference, blah, blah, blah or fight for nickname/logo. Have never seen or heard from either that trying to accomplish both was ever an option. That to me if the real issue I have with the way this whole thing was handled. Show some fight and still lose nickname, so be it. Give up on that issue to make the D1 transition easier is just a bailout and lack of leadership IMO.

Seriously??? The nickname to supporters, alum and students is bigger than just the hockey team. The fact that the hockey team is the financial engine the runs the athletic dept. is another issue and debate. Kelly and Fasion have never shown support publically for keeping the nickname/logo. Right or wrong that leaves a very bitter taste in a majority of supporters/alum and specifically this alum. I'm glad that UND is in the Big Sky, but the reality is any other athletic team, especially men's FB or BB is a looooooong way from being relevent on the D1 scene. Hockey is the university flagship athletic team like it or not but to throw that progam under the bus and use it as leverage to your liking in this nickname agrument is _______! Someone else can fill in the blank.

I believe the true answer is somewhere in the middle of Douple's claim and Kelly's denial. Let's face it, Kelly was never in favor of keeping the Sioux nickname or logo. For those of you who disagree with that, give me one quote on the record that proves otherwise. Douple got burned by UND so his claim is suspect, but I personally do think something was said off the record to support some of his story. Kolpack...he's just a 'SU tool. As ScottM said, it is what it is at this point but at least UND rubes aren't tossing back Grain Belts like some SU posters on this site!

Agree with all of the above post. This thread is a joke as well. I've been critical of some of Hak's coaching moves, game decisions, ect... But he has this program relevent year in and year out. He, and his staff, are great recruiters...talent is top notch consistantly. I do agree with there being a difference as being a great "game" coach. Hak believes in his system and it produces results, but his system doesn't seem to fit as well outside of WCHA play. There is a reason Big Ten men's BB teams don't typically do well in the "big dance" because they are built for the grind of Big Ten regular season. To an extent, Hak's teams are built the same...to win the WCHA. All I know is my daughter and I traveled to Denver to the Frozen 4 a couple years back with arguably one of UND's most talented teams ever, only to have her look at me 10 minutes into the semi game vs. BC and ask..."What's going on?" Hak finding an answer to that question maybe gets UND a NC soon.

Only thing I'd switch would be Marto with Lapoint...otherwise I still see sweep with what you got. Some Cichy's stick handling on Sat. was sick. He just seems to have an ability to create in the offensive end.
