SCSU is up 3-1 over UAA after 2 periods. If SCSU wins, UMN would be in 9th place, and they have still played one more game than SCSU.
-
Also...only 4 PIM's tonight? We're going to fall down the PIM leader rankings after that type of performance!
-
Surprises of the league: MSUM. They are flying right now. UMN. They could be in 9th place after tonight's SCSU/UAA game. SCSU. With the forwards they have, I would not have expected them to be in the bottom 3.
-
But then our 2nd unit wouldn't do much.

I was reading last week's CCHA column on USCHO and found this comment from UM coach Berenson funny:
-
Agreed. Funny how in the MSUM series (when the dmen just blasted shots from the blueline and the forwards looked for rebounds), the PP was very effective.

I like this bracket for the Sioux. I really hope that UND can lock up a #1 seed like INCH seems to think we will. If they do, I would rather get placed with a UNH or MSU #2 seed (rather than DU or BC). I also like CC and DU being placed in the same regional. Let them duke it out in CO. I don't want the Sioux to have to beat CC or DU in CO in order to make it to the F4. If the regionals worked out like INCH predicts, I think we would see UND, UM, CC, and MSU in the F4. With maybe UW upsetting both MSU and Miami in the Madison regional.

I think he meant for just their off week of practice. I assumed from his comments that it meant they were working on it this week in practice. I could easily be wrong though.

Not getting any easier for the Gophers: http://www.twincities.com/gophers/ci_8220941 Without Barriball, the Gopher's offensive weapons are really getting limited.
-
I'll take these! I sent you a PM. Thanks!
-
Still looking...if anyone has 2 tickets available, please PM me. Thanks!

Proves how good the top of the CCHA is too.

Some random thoughts: What are the odds that Miami's weak SOS gets exposed once they play a decent team? I agree with others that it will be interesting to read Weston's column next week... Miami looks like crap, where Mich looks fast and skilled. No contest here. I guess it doesn't pay to play weak NC games. A quote from a Miami fan before the start of the 3rd period: "We're #1! We're going to get them in the 3rd quarter!" Quite the knowledgeable fanbase they have in Ohio. Love the hit on Peltier, and then the whining by Lucia after the penalty on Kaufmann was called. I thought Hakstol was the only coach to whine after penalties?
-
Indeed. Funny how both of them made similar comments about the Sioux being cheap, and yet both of them were cheap in the game before they made the comments. Peltier with his punching the smallest Sioux player. Drewiskie with his cross checking of Oshie after TJ scored.

Still looking for some tickets for Sat night's game if anyone has any available. 2 tickets, upper or lower bowl, doesn't matter. Thanks!

I like that bracket for the Sioux. I could see them advancing to the F4 if it worked out like this. IMO this bracket would end with UND/BC/UM/CC in the frozen four.

I'm not sure what he would do in the Skills Challenge anyway... Agitate?

And Radke.

From the sounds of the link that Goon posted, it's hard to say if this would be a family issue or a suspension-type issue. Key words to me are "remain on the team". If it was a family issue, it would have to be pretty bad for him to just quit the team. Or if it was a suspension or something...that would also have to be pretty bad for him to get kicked off the team like that. This is going to be interesting to hear the facts behind this one. Hopefully everything is ok with him and his family.
-
But they stayed until the end of the game, didn't they? No "beat the traffic" fans there.
-
UW has some very good forwards coming in... If they can retain any of them for more than a few years they may be on to something. They still would have to open up their game a bit if they ever wanted to let those offensive players shine though, and I don't see that happening. I've never understood why skilled forwards wanted to go there...Skille, Turris, Murray, Lee, etc. Turris would have 10-15 more points this year easily if he played for a team like UND, UMN, UM, or BC. UW could be good, but I don't know if Turris or McDonough are going to stay longer than this year, let alone until 09 when Murray, Stepan, and Lee would be coming.
