  1. Vermont currently leading UNH 3-2.
  2. Yeah, current projections would have us playing UMN in the first round with Miami/SCSU in the other game. Tough bracket. I would rather get one of the top two seeds and get to play the AHA/CHA autobid team, of course, than have to play one of our conference rivals in the first round. Still lots of games left though to change it all up again...
  3. Hopefully we can hold off Miami for that last #1 seed...
  4. Current field would be: 1. UM 2. CC 3. UNH 4. UND 5. Miami 6. DU 7. Clarkson 8. MSU 9. MSUM 10. BC 11. SCSU 12. UW 13. UMN 14. BU 15. AHA/CHA 16. AHA/CHA
  5. Boo. Doesn't look good.
  6. Agreed. They outplayed SCSU badly in the 1st period, and had many quality chances in the 3rd.
  7. Same thing when Duncan missed on the wide open net off the feed from Oshie just a few minutes later.
  8. Miller has looked good out there. I didn't realize he was so fast until last Sun afternoon against UMD. He's got some wheels.
  9. The Sioux are winning all the races to the puck, where SCSU looks flat footed. We need to capitalize first and continue to play with this level of intensity.
  10. Some of us are being patient.
  11. I would guess Miller.
  12. First name that came to my mind as well. He sounds very Genoway-like.
  13. I bet it would be different this year if the Sioux get placed in the Madison regional, even if UW isn't there. There were a ton of Sioux fans here for last year's UW series, and it is the closest regional to GF, so Sioux fans could easily make the drive. Of course, I'm just biased being that I live in Madison and I want to see the Sioux play here so I can watch them live.
  14. Will they mention the Badgers by name...or just say the "school to the east"?
  15. I think that expectations were that he would sign with the Gophers. So, to media members in the Twin Cities, he has not met those expectations yet this year.
  16. I believe his dad posted here during his collegiate days, he could just use that screen-name and get in on the game. Being that we won't have a goalie, I think we need some talented forwards to offset that. So bring him in.
  17. That's a brutal bracket. I like Michigan's better.
  18. Wow, down 3 players in a matter of hours...
  19. Umm...what?
  20. The only way that UMN would face Army in the first round is if the Gophers were a #1 seed. I don't think they have enough season left to accomplish that feat.

    Injuries?

redwing77 doesn't let facts get in the way of his arguments.
  22. Strengths: Smooth skater, quick hands, stickhandling ability Weaknesses: Staying on his skates during goal celebration

As a dman gets more comfortable in the league, he can take more liberties with the puck. I don't remember Chay doing that last year at all. But this year he is more confident and more used to the speed of the WCHA. I agree that LaPoint has that same ability in him (and Marto as well for that matter). But a coach will normally want to keep a tighter rein on a freshman, especially a defenseman. I would bet that next year LaPoint starts to blossom more and shows us more of his offensive potential. But for this year, I'm guessing that he is working on the defensive side of his game a bit more...which is what he is out there to do. We don't need him skating the puck up the ice every shift, we just need him to play sound, defensive hockey.

    Injuries?

It's harder to play hockey if you don't have a stick.
  25. I always just assumed that Dean was a Gopher fan after reading his posts, regardless of what he says. It's ok that he posts on here, but humorous that he tries to pretend to be a Sioux fan.
