  1. It's been awhile since the Sioux have had this much talented depth at forward (and defense, but that is another topic entirely). It's a far cry from the days of one uber-line (DOT, Money Line, Line of Fire) and then a decent dropoff. Each of those lines has a probable 20+ goal scorer (Frattin, Gregoire, Kristo) and the top two even have other potential 20-goal scorers as well (Trupper, Malone, Hextall). It really isn't even that far fetched when you look at their goal totals from last season: Gregoire - 20 Kristo - 15 (missed 2 games) Hextall - 14 (missed 9 games) Frattin - 11 (missed 19 games) Malone - 11 Trupp - 8 Malone and Trupper might be long shots for 20 goals, but when you take into consideration that they both really took off later in the season, especially once that line started to gel with those two and Frattin...it's not as big of a stretch. Do I really think that we will have 6 20-goal scorers? Absolutely not, but I think that this team has the potential to be something special and score a ton of goals. It could be a special season, let's hope that they can play up to their potential!
  2. Gregoire for Friday night.
  3. Well, Lethbridge is known as a hockey power, so that's explainable. Lethbridge played CC, DU, and AFA all in a row this weekend and only managed to beat DU. It sounds (and looks) like DU's goalie didn't exactly play too well.
  4. Agreed. UAF is the better team on paper, so I'd agree to put Eidsness out against them. Plus, Dell has had decent success against UAA: http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20091023&vis=und&home=uaa&gender=m
  5. The Sioux are now ranked in the top 10 for only the 2nd time in program history. Congrats to the ladies! 1. Minnesota-Duluth 2. Cornell 3. Mercyhurst 4. Minnesota 5. Wisconsin 6. Boston University 7. Harvard 8. New Hampshire 9. Boston College 10. North Dakota
  6. Agreed on Forbort. Much like MacWilliam last season, he didn't look out of place at all as a freshman. I wouldn't be surprised if Kristo gets put on the line with Gregoire and Knight and then Hexy gets put with Cichy/Nelson.
  7. Maybe their optimism after yesterday's beating of the youngsters will be tempered a bit now.
  8. UMN now up 5-0 on UBC. DU trails Lethbridge 4-2 in 2nd.
  9. UMN up 3-0 on UBC in the 1st. DU trailing Lethbridge 3-1 in the 1st.
  10. We did last year too after the holiday break. Knight just picked that out of the air on the backhand. Nicely done.
  11. DU beat the U18 team 8-1 last night...Grimaldi had an assist on the lone USA goal. Funny, now if you read up on some DU blogs, they are going to dominate just because they beat up on some 17 yo kids. Heck, Chambers goes as far as to say that they are already in midseason form and that Zucker is unstoppable. I really hope that we mop the floor with DU this year.
  12. And now a goal for Monique. 4-3 UND with just a few min left in the 2nd.
  13. Wow, what a one-timer on the PP from Jocelyn. 3-3 right now.
  14. 2-1 after 1st period.
  15. 2-1 UND after a scramble in front.
  16. Good start to the season. 1-0 UND after BU controlled play for the first few minutes.
  17. I was the exact opposite in college. I very rarely drank, and yet I was a bartender for over 2 years.
  18. I wish I was still in GF, I'd be there for sure. I miss hockey!! Go Sioux!!
  19. Speaking of Grimaldi and Mattson, Brad talks of both on his latest update: UND recruits Grimaldi and Koules play DU Saturday and CC on Sunday in exhibitions. Hopefully they can light the lamp and show those schools a glimpse of what is to come.
  20. It would be great to see him take off this season and then carry that progress into UND next season. Speaking of good starts, Grimaldi is killing it so far in the USHL.
  21. Nicely done. That was too good, I had to share it with our friends at USCHO.
  22. I was hoping we could get through an off-season without anything like this. Hopefully he learns from it and moves on. Go Sioux!
  23. I agree that we could be seeing a Forbort/Simpson rotation for much of the season.
  24. Nelson is a center as well...
  25. Wow, never knew that. Just think, you'd be hanging out in a Lakers forum right now if he hadn't switched.
