  1. Ah, yes. I thought that Heisenberg's website might be wrong. On Heisenberg's spreadsheet, he has Schroeder listed as an 09. I thought he was an 08, but since he was listed as an 09, I didn't mention him. That said, I still like our incoming crop of forward recruits over almost any other team in the nation.
  2. Ohio State? They have one good forward coming in 2008, and he used to be a Fighting Sioux. While UMN has a really good class for 2008, I think UND's is a notch above it. The Gophers have two defense studs in Ness and Lofquist, but I don't see another star-caliber player in their 2008 list. For UND's 08 class, Toews, Gregoire, and Cichy will be great, immediate-impact players. Then you throw in Hextall, Mario Lam, and strong dmen in either Gleason or Blood (or both). And then our goalie of the future in Eidsness. That is a hell of a class put together by Hakstol and Co. That said, I could care less where UND's class gets ranked, just as long as those players come in and contribute like I know that they are capable of.
  3. End of 2nd at Mariucci. Gophers will start the 3rd with a PP. 3-0 still.
  4. UMD PP is over. CC/UMD both at full strength.
  5. "Everytime something like that happens, the Sioux are involved."
  6. Chorney and Finley will both be gone. As will Oshie. After that, I'm not sure. I agree with other posters that we may get Duncan for another year. And while Kozek's stock has definitely gone up with his increased performance this year, he will probably be back as well. But there is no way that Oshie, Chorney, or Finley come back for their senior seasons. Regardless of how this team ends their season.
  7. Article in the Herald about Walski: http://www.grandforksherald.com/articles/i...;section=sports
  8. Turris is the best offensive player in college hockey? I'd maybe put him in the top 20, but not much higher than that. Okposo has tremendous desire...to quit his program midseason. Wheeler's expected impact in 2009 could be huge. What league do they expect him to be in? Maybe if he's back in the WCHA, but not if he's in the AHL, and certainly not if he's in the NHL.
  9. I never saw that article about Miami's dynasty. Does anyone have a link to it?
  10. Nice to see Chorney's comments on Brad's blog:
  11. Time to give Forney a shot. Unless they are going to have him apply for a medical redshirt.
  12. I like the sounds of that. So, who is the best of that birthyear from that league?
  13. Agreed. If at all possible, I would want the Sioux to avoid playing CC in the Springs. While playing UW in Madison isn't ideal, it would be a much better alternative. I would rather have DU placed with CC and have them duke it out to make it to the F4. I think that the Sioux are a much better team than UW (in all aspects...goaltending, offense, defense, special teams), so the Sioux would have to play like crap to lose to UW at this point IMO. But anything can happen, so we will just have to wait a few weeks to see where the Sioux get placed.
  14. That was actually my main question to him...why he opposed Radke doing it, but at the same time Testwuide did it to Gordon last year. He essentially said that they were not similar cases because in the Gordon/Testwuide fight, they both had their gloves/helmets still on, which minimized the impact of the punches. He didn't say anything about why the fight continued on despite Gordon being on the ice though.
  15. After. I figured I had to be polite about it, otherwise he would have no reason to respond.
  16. Those were the only two players that he mentioned, so I would assume no other additional penalties were assessed.
  17. Yep. Essentially they gave both Testwuide and Radke fighting DQ's for their earlier fight in the game.
  18. I sent Gwoz a polite email earlier today, just asking him for clarificiation about the Testwuide/Gordon fight from last year and the Radke/Vossberg fight from this past weekend. He sent me a nice email just a bit ago and among other things, mentioned that both Radke and Testwuide were given an additional game DQ today by the WCHA for Sat night's activities. So Radke will be forced to sit out both BSU games, and both Testwuide and Vossberg from DU will be out for DU on Friday night against UAA.
  19. I see that Trupp was nominated for ROTW as well. Too bad the Sioux couldn't have made it a complete sweep.
  20. http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/index.cfm Kozek gets WCHA Offensive POTW and Genoway gets WCHA Defensive POTW.
  21. I would laugh if Gwoz's whining made them take another look at it, and the WCHA ends up suspending Testuide for a game as well.
  22. Both games will be shown on the FSSN webcast this weekend. http://fightingsioux.xosn.com/liveEvents/l...DB_OEM_ID=13500 $6 per game.
  23. Michigan will have to do with Chad Kolarik for at least a month: http://blog.mlive.com/wolverines/2008/02/m...e_senior_u.html Tough break losing their #2 scorer for that amount of time. In other news, it appears that Chris from the Western College Hockey blog can't get over his complex about the Sioux and their rough and tough ways: http://westerncollegehockey.blogspot.com/2...-surprised.html You would think he would be in a better mood with MSUM's recent play. But I guess not. It's a shame, as his blog is normally pretty good, but when he constantly whines about UMN and UND, it really makes his blog pretty pathetic.
  24. Great sweep Sioux! Keep it rolling against BSU. Kozek with a monster weekend...4 goals and 2 assists I believe. Can you say WCHA offensive POTW? I didn't realize that Miami got swept by Ferris State. Wow, they are tanking nicely. I like our current PWR situation, let's hope that the Sioux keep this momentum up!
