No offense to you there Jfr, but this is a terrible move for the Big Ten. The only positive side to the expansion is the larger markets that the Big Ten will be exposed to. However, this is going to ultimately weaken the conference. Big Ten football is already weak, and you have two programs that will do little to improve upon it. The two markets that are being expanded to do have more population, but the talent levels of recruits coming out of those places is low for a national average. Not that it matters, because football is the big ticket item these days, but their basketball programs don't bring much either. Maryland has had some decent runs a few years back, but that really doesn't improve the conference. What the conference needed to do was expand in a way that would help make the conference relevant in football again. This move will certainly not do it.

Yeah, for the current jerseys, the black definitely is better, but the green is growing on me. The white and black jerseys are much better in person than in pics, but the green jerseys actually look pretty decent on TV, in my opinion. I still dislike all three.

I may be in the minority, but I'd prefer less black in the future. I think it'd be great to go back to our roots of just using white and kelly for our home and away jerseys...then have a different designed black alternate jersey. So many teams across all levels of hockey have done BFBS (or black for black's sake). Kelly green, on all levels of sports, is the most under-utilized color.

I didn't catch who the other one was, but Nathan Freeman was one of those two linesmen. Nathan has done a pretty darn good job over the years and does A LOT of Sioux games at the Ralph, so if you just noticed it now, it probably wasn't thanks to him.

I say leave the lines the same, but put the Knight/Kristo line as the third line...just to try and wake them up. 1st line of O'Donnell-Gaarder-MacMillan, 2nd of Caggiula-Grimaldi-Chyzyk, then third of Kristo-Knight-Rowney. Maybe it would spark 'em.

That team was awesome, but college hockey is so much different now. Even just 10 years ago there were only a few teams in the country who really seemed to have a chance at winning a title. Now, most teams in the tournament in a given year could win. In 2006, look how significant it was for Holy Cross to beat Minnesota. Since then, 4's beat 1's all the time. The bottom tier teams are a lot better than they used to be. Parity is for real in NCAA hockey. Now it's just a matter of overcoming these obstacles come tournament time.

I don't think players "sneak" out of their hotels necessarily. I think their coaches treat them like the adults that they are and give them more freedom than you might think. I know our guys have gone out on Friday nights during away series'. The team hotels are usually in an area where most joints are within walking distance.

Nolan added another goal and another assist for 2-6--8 (7 games) after Friday's game. Not sure why, but he didn't play on Saturday. Any info?

Thanks MissSioux, that helped a lot. I tweaked the original a bit to fit even better, so feel free to use the updated version which is already on the site. I also added an Android and iPhone 4 version. Since there are so many variations of Android phones, it may not work on all, but most of you should be able to get it to work just fine. Let me know if any of you have any issues. I'll continue to add more phone wallpapers if there aren't any issues.

I really like Saunders as well. I think mixing in Gothberg here and there is still the right thing to do, though I think Saunders goes again tonight. I hesitate to put Saunders on a pedestal quite yet since it's early. Remember, JP Lamoureux started pretty darn hot in 07-08. He didn't give up a goal in his first 9 periods of play that year and had 4 shutouts by the end of October. (One of those shutouts I counted was the shortened BC game that was cancelled after two periods and a score of 0-0).

I re-did an old iPhone 4 wallpaper to fit the iPhone 5. I don't own an iPhone, but I know a lot of people picked one up. Since I don't have one, I can't really test it out. I tried to place the artwork in places where it doesn't interfere with the time portion of the top of the screen and the lock slider portion of the bottom. Anyone care to test it out for me? Blake Geoffrion, 2010 Hobey Baker winner at Wisconsin, was rushed to the hospital after a huge check last night and had surgery. What the operation was is still unknown, but it's apparently not life-threatening.
