I haven't had a chance to do some scouting to get some more people to get their collection added. I am making some updates today, though. If anyone has any game-worn Sioux jerseys, I'd love to be able to show it off on the site.

I think they are referring to heat pressing the twill names/numbers...which is a standard practice. After getting pressed on, they are then stitched for added reinforcement. It makes it easier to stitch because the twill isn't moving around.

Yes, the replicas are in stock at Sports City in Fargo. I saw the ebay auctions as well and went and checked them out. They're about what you'd expect for a replica. Hoping some authentics will be rolling in, but I heard some news that might put authentics in jeopardy.

Been busy putting some jerseys together for the Encyclopedia portion of Sioux-Jersey.com. These are all the home/away jerseys from 1964-78. First row: 1964-67 Second row: 1967-71 Third row: 1971-74 Fourth row: 1974-78 The 1974-78 version might be the least known Sioux jersey in existence, and may be the ugliest of all time.

Two words: Mark. Osiecki. The Badger program is seeing a big loss with Osiecki's departure to Ohio State. Heck, that's how we are getting Jordan Schmaltz. Mark was a guru with bringing in and developing big-time defensemen.

Why play sports if you don't want to get injured? No one would get hurt playing hockey of no one played hockey. That would solve everything.

O'Donnell will surprise a lot of people this year.

One day I'll wake up and decide to sell 'em all.

I picked up a couple new jerseys in the last few months. The early 90s came a couple months ago and I just got this Zach Jones Frozen Four gamer. The #29 jersey is a game-issue.

I finished the graphics of the new "North Dakota" jerseys for the website so thought I'd share with those here. To view larger versions of each, go here: http://sioux-jersey.com/#/encyclopedia/4551922793 ...and click on their respective pages.

Not to get too far off-topic... We should have been losing 4 or 5 to nothing going into the 3rd. The Kohl Center was rockin' and there was very little to cheer about. Like you said, that 2nd goal did the Badger crowd in big time. Then, that OT winner by Kozek was just euphoria and to look over at the Badger fans that were razzing us the whole game was priceless. We should have never won that game...then to do it in their barn with a Frozen Four trip on the line...after those first two periods...amazing.

Home ice advantage doesn't always work. See: 2008; one of the greatest Sioux games ever

Dell gave us a great chance to make it to the title game last year only giving up one goal. As good of seasons as J-Par and JPL had, none did anything for us in the Frozen Four.
-
Dell let a few more softies in this year than last year, but all-in-all, he's been pretty solid for us. He did earn All-American honors last year. Dell certainly didn't lose us many games.

I hope this doesn't turn out to be an Osiecki type result for UND. I know the situation is different, but you never know.

Throwbacks or throw-ups? Honestly, it seems like they tried to make them look older (like you said) but failed miserably. Old jerseys didn't use double-striping on letters/numbers, nor did vintage jerseys have big armpit colors to contrast with the rest of the jersey. A few tweaks could make them look great: 1) Enlarge the front wordmark for cripe's sake 2) Thin the spacing between the striping so they don't take up so much space 3) Ditch the double-striping on these...looks better on a Sioux jersey, but doesn't fit these 4) Get rid of the contrasting armpit color on the white...makes it look like a cheap practice jersey If you do that, the jersey will improve immensely. It will have a lot better balance and look more professional.
-
Just brutal... For so long UND has had some of the sharpest hockey jerseys on the planet. These are barely high school worthy.
-
Awesome! I hope he's a lifer at UND. He really "gets it" as head coach. Though he doesn't have his title yet, he will get one, and once he does, he'll get a bunch.
-
I think UND has been fortunate to have a number of great captains. It's hard to say Mario was the best. Almost all of them were great captains in one way or another.
-
I agree...Rowney, Parks, and MacMillan did have some good chemistry. However, if you mix and match the lines, it may benefit the team more and the new lines have the potential to create new chemistry that is as good or better than what we previously had.

That's why you bring in another offensive weapon to replace him. Kane brings little heart to the game. A guy like Parise can bring just as much O-skill as Kane, and bring heart and a defensive game with him. Trade Kane for defense or goaltending and sign Parise in place of Kane's contract.
-
Kane is not irreplaceable.
-
Brian Lee was treated unfairly, no question. You have to remember he was only a freshman and sophomore while at UND. He put up 27 and 26 points respectively. I think he did very well considering we used him like he was a junior or senior his two seasons at school.

2012 BC team: 9 draft picks 2010 BC team: 10 draft picks 2008 BC team: 11 draft picks Though not as many draft picks as recent Sioux teams, they still have their fair share of guys who are on NHL team's radar. The only way in which having some real good players that are drafted is they may leave early. I think Hak & Co. have been able to get his guys to commit to the system he implements. Over the long-haul, Hak's system will bring us National Championships. There is a bit of luck involved with winning a title. If you are good enough to win as many MacNaughton Cups, Broadmoor Trophies, Regional Championships, and never miss the playoffs, you are playing good hockey to win a National Championship? Look at last year. How do you not win a game when you outshoot your opponent 40-20 and your goalie gives up only one goal? The Sioux did what they needed to do to win but the game got stolen from them. How about in 2007, when a couple absurd penalty calls resulted in a PP goals in a game where you had a great chance of winning? I think the pressure of winning a title when you are supposed to, especially when you have a fan base as impatient as UND's, it makes the challenge that much more difficult. Look at BC prior to 2008. They were failing to meet the challenge of winning a title once they got there. Once they got that first one, they've come in bunches. I think once UND gets their next title, they will get a few in a short time span too because that monkey will be off the back for a bit.

I think BC's speed has less to do with their game than how smart they play the game. It just seems like they make very, very few mistakes. There speed works as a result of them knowing how to handle each and every situation they see. They rarely panic with the puck and they always seem to know how and when to get the puck to the proper place. Their passing is excellent because they almost never hesitate with what they are about to do. Their patience with the puck is great. When the Sioux are playing great, they are decisive with the puck and they are crisp with their passes. This allows them (or a team like BC) to use their speed in the proper manner. We've had fast guys on our team too, but you don't see them do the things BC does because sometimes there may be hesitation with puck on someone elses part, or bad passes, etc. Their speed kills, but only because of the other factors that allow them to use their speed, if that makes sense.
