  1. Don't forget, Wisconsin, who won that year, played both their regional and the Frozen Four in the state of Wisconsin.
  2. You can't compare Hak to Gino. You can't compare Gino to Blais. You can't compare Cary Eades to Herb Brooks. None of it works. It's a totally different league.
  3. If we make the playoffs, I think this could be arguably one of Hak's best seasons as a coach. If we win anything in the tourney, it'd just be a bonus. Look at the "talent" on this team. There isn't a ton of skill or size compared to previous teams. Yeah, a lot of them are drafted, but that means little unless you're talking top two rounds of the draft usually. You might decide to mention how it's Hak's fault for a lack of star power on the team. Well, this is true, but it's not Hakstol's fault that guys like JT Miller and Stefan Matteau decided not to come...both of whom have already played in the NHL. Adding just those two guys would make a WORLD of difference. Jerry York should have been fired decades ago, and numerous times in between, by some people's standards. Face the facts. This isn't old-school NCAA hockey anymore where there were maybe 3-4 legitimate title contenders in a given year. In today's game, the top schools have to recruit young players to try and gain the blue chip recruits. Sometimes they pan out, sometimes they don't. The smaller schools get the older, late-bloomers who were passed over, but who may have developed into great players themselves. It adds A TON of parity to the game now, so to have maintained a level of teams even capable of winning a title year in and year out is impressive in my book.
  4. Might have been the worst crowd for a UND game ever. Other than when we scored goals, there wasn't hardly a noise in the building. The current student section is particularly lame. If it wasn't for the tubas sticking up out of the crowd, you wouldn't know there even was a student section.
  5. Gaudreau has the Hobey almost locked up. The kid has been unreal. -Averaging 2 points per game -22 goals in 25 games so far -Tack on 28 assists in those 25 games It doesn't hurt that he plays on a beast of a line, but he's the top guy on that top line on a top team in the country. I agree with yzerman...Dillon's been great for us, but outside of our little circle, who's really putting him in a realistic Hobey conversation.
  6. Final Five was always a blast. Haven't done this whole NCHC Tourney at Target Center thing yet, so who knows...

    Welcome to siouxsports.com 2014.
  8. This seems pretty simple. It states that he was offered a chance to play for UND over winter break. Landon only first committed to Quinnipiac early this month. Chambers ran with it because of the controversy he could stir about Landon possibly playing this coming weekend if he would have accepted our deal versus Qunnipiac's. But, to make the story more interesting, he leaves the part out where he wasn't committed anywhere until just a couple weeks ago. I don't see anything fishy on UND's/Hakstol's part.
  9. It was a rating of "atmosphere" not quality of stadium. The Ralph, too often, is a library setting. People complain that the team isn't giving the fans anything to cheer about. Well, I'm under the impression that the fans should cheer on the team to get them going, not the team playing well to get the crowd going. I'm a big believer in Hakstol, but this is one area where I wish he'd speak up. Tom Crean did it when he went to coach Indiana, now their fan base has been rocking more and more since they've been there. I think Hak should try to do something to encourage the fans to be more raucous.
  10. Miami gave up 3 short-handed goals over the weekend, losing both games to WMU by 1. Yikes.
  11. I will call it a Circle of Sticks every week with a straight face....so long as we're seeing the circle of sticks.
  12. First it's BC...now it's UBC. Either way, not a big fan of those letters.

Well, who won what? I keep track of these auctions and missed a couple of the auctions (work). If you won, or know who won and for what price these items, let me know: 2011-12 Carter Rowney, Green 2009-10 Brett Bruneteau White 2011-12 Tate Maris White 2009-11 Tate Maris Helmet 2011-12 Andrew MacWilliam Green 2011-12 Tate Maris Green I finally won one of these auctions...2009-10 Andrew MacWilliam, Road Green. Also, whoever I had a little battle against with the funny names...props, I had a good laugh. (Big A > Small A > Smart A > My A > Jack A)
  14. I'm usually pretty lenient on Hammer...I don't give him a pass on everything, but it's challenging to be witty, insightful, and describe a fast-paced play on the fly. But, dang, "Circle of Sticks" is just absurdly funny and ridiculously embarrassing.
  15. I'm not saying Bollinger wouldn't be a good HC candidate one day, but if he's near the top of the list as a prospective UND HC for next year, we're in big trouble.
  16. Sioux sweep, Craig Bohl leaves for Wyoming (<---rofl). What an awesome night.
  17. Of the big-time places I've had a chance to visit, North Carolina's campus ranks head and shoulders above the rest.

Here are a few examples of the work I've had done by them. Thanks to Hammer for letting me borrow the pic of his Blood jersey I took without his permission.
