Johnson probably will win the ROY, he is probably head and shoulders above the rest of the frosh entering the WCHA. I don't think the Sioux will have a ROY candidate this year. Someone would have to come out of the woodwork. I don't think you will see huge numbers from this year's freshman class. If the incoming forwards can reach 10 goals that would be a good frosh season. Look at Wheeler his frosh year. For being so highly drafted he did not exactly set the world on fire.

Hmmm funny all three signed early after their junior years. If they were pursued hard after their sophmore years it would be more to just get them into their system than to have them step up and make the NHL club. Players that stay when the right offer is on the table are very few and far between. Some will stay if they think they can be in a better bargaining position after another year of college. When offered a contract, most players bolt.

According to Sid's column today Kesshole has been offered a contract by the Bruins. It is just a matter of money and they are still negotiating. Kesshole does not seem at all interested in returning to the Maroon and Gold.

He tried "the move" in the World Junior tourney against Canada and the Canadian D-man pounded him to the ice and you could see after the whistle blew the d-man had a smile on his face. It's kind of a toe drag type move. It will never work against NHL caliber defenseman.

VandeVelde is kind of a wild card. It is hard to know how he will adapt to the college game. The good thing is there is a lot of potential there. Hopefully the coaches can work their magic. We need another Ryan Bayda. He was awesome. My favorite Ryan Bayda moment had to be when he drilled the Wisconsin D-man behind the net in the final five at the Target Center. Talk about setting the tone for a game. He was great in the corners.

Oshie rocks.............at least he will be back by the sounds of it. He is one of the most determined players I have ever seen in a sioux uniform. Talk about giving 110%!! Just look at Oshie.............

If we lose Toews, put 4 lines together and take a look at it. It will be very difficult to overcome that many defections. The depth just will not be there.

That will be just like it, the Goofs will keep Kessel and Johnson and we will lose Toews. Come on, can't at least one guy on the fence stay??//

Not a whole lot of fat on that guy..........He is a hell of a player. It was good to see him lift the cup.

Too bad about Johnson, I really thought he would sign. He will be a force for the Goofs next year. They haven't had a punishing d-man in a while. Johnson will be a force.

No doubt, I hope Kessel signs...otherwise the Goofs are going to be pretty good next year.........ahhh what could have been..........We would have been absolutely loaded if not for this league they call the NHL.....

I think Trupp's shoulder injury complicates things. Last I remember he had a pretty serious shoulder injury.

We CANNOT lose Toews........come on if Johnson is going to college the Hawks should follow suit and let Toews play another year with the Sioux.

Motzko may do a good job there, but I still doubt they will ever win an NCAA tourney game..............
