Why not see if we can set an all-time record for mass exodus?? (We maybe already have) Anyone on here have any eligibility?? Of course being able to skate backwards is a requirement.
-
Looks like he will be a 4 year player now..........
-
Anyone have any idea how Forney performed
-
Go Canes..........I wonder if they will boo the US anthem again.........
-
Nate is an idiot!!! A wannabe hockey player...........
-
Although there is not another team in the country that has already lost 4 and soon to be 5 of their very top players. Unfortunately we are leading the nation in a bad category.........."early defections"
-
The problem with that is those so called "extra prospects" will be nowhere near the talent level of Toews. If they were you would hear about them and they would have already committed somewhere. If we lose either Toews or Oshie next year is really going to turn into a rebuilding year. I am convinced JPar is gone so that already leaves 5 early departures if the JPar rumors are true. That is an unbelievable number and something that will be very difficult to fill all those shoes next year. There really is no loyalty and college hockey is really become more of a business.
-
Yeah that would have been a strong possibility if we could dress all the players we have lost........but so much for that plan.
-
Rumor has it Martens is going to sign, that will be some big shoes to fill.
-
There is no chance he will play in the playoffs. They are in the conference finals and he has not even practiced with the team let alone prove he is ready to step into the NHL.
-
Yeah like when Kolanos went wide on him......that was a tough one to take. I thought we had em'
-
Yeah I would bet Parise is gone as well. That would make 5 early departures. That is an incredibile number and totally unprecedented. It seems these days that the only way a player comes back for his senior year is if he has absolutely no other options and that is pretty sad! Now if Toews and Oshie follow suit Hak will have open tryouts for SiouxSports.com members to try and field a team. The cupboard is not bare but we have lost a lot of groceries.
-
The problem with that is know one can know for sure how Bina will hold up throughout the year. That would leave us very thin on D. Having Alexander or Genoway playing regularly as the 6th defenseman is a potential problem. I would be very surprised if one of the two (marto or more likely Lapoint) is not in a Sioux uni next year.
-
So if Marto is not coming in next year according to this then that must mean LaPoint will arrive next year. Hopefully Bina is OK and can provide some depth.

Why Siouxnami is optimistic about the 2006/2007 Fighting Sioux!

I think they both stay, they fall under the new CBA and do not have the financial incentive to leave that those drafted under the old agreement have. We CANNOT afford to lose anymore players. -

I really don't know what you are talking about. I am just being realistic. Let's face it we have lost a lot of high end players. I stated that the current and incoming players are going to have some big shoes to fill. I am pretty sure we top the nation with 4 early departures (to date). That creates holes that need to be filled by players that are not currently the equal of those who left. I don't call that being negative that is reality. -
It was not what you would call a fight....they each fot 2 minute minors. John Davidson was commenting on how he could not believe how much Commodore has improved this year. He gets a lot of ice time and is a regular on the penalty kill. He has come along way from his freshman season to a NHL regular. His red curls go well with the Canes uniforms.

We better hope we do not lose Toews or next year is really going to be a rebuilding campaign. I hope I am wrong but I don't see any of the incoming forwards being dominant players like Oshie and Toews were. Hopefully they can fill their roles and adjust to the WCHA sooner rather than later. Those line combos are a little thin but if the freshman can produce we should be OK. -
PPPLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEE.....come on people

Yeah we are going to need more than the something like seven goals he scored this season. Hopefully he can come through as I think he will be the captain. -

I don't think a line of Kozek Kaip and Fabian as a second line is going to strike fear into too many opponents. Kozek is supposed to be a goal scorer he needs to play with guys who have more offensive ability. Kozek will be relied on to score a lot more this year. -
This is really getting pretty ridiculous...........................
-
I agree with you, there is no loyalty anymore. There is no reason to flame at all because you are 100% correct. 99% of the players seem to bolt at the first chance they get. It is just frustrating as a Sioux fan when we look to have a dominant team for the next year and 4 or 5 guys leave with a couple of them leaving somewhat unexpetedly. All of a sudden you have a bunch of holes left in your roster with your top players moving on. It's gotta be tough on the coaches.
-
The whole friggin team might as well leave.....
-
That would certainly include some classic open ice hits. He was as good an open ice checker as I have seen play for the Sioux. He would really level some guys if they had their head down.
